This is my dream destination!

I really love this landmark, and finally i saw it up close. I was grateful and prayed for protection and happiness for my family and myself. 🥹❤

There were a lot of people when we visited this place, the parking is not that hard to find. But i think you will need a lot of patience for you to visit this landmark. 😊

The historical information displayed around the site provides valuable insights into the significance of this cross and its role in shaping the Philippines.

What truly stood out during my visit was the warmth of the local people. They are not only welcoming but also eager to share the history and take photos of visitors. It's a heartwarming experience to have locals approach you with a smile and offer to capture your memories. It's a testament to the friendly and hospitable nature of the Filipino people.

Impressive place. Not too crowded. It is a small chapel where people come to admire, to pray, to reflect on the history. The sealing has a beautiful painting and the cross is preserved very well. I liked the area very much and I think it is a must see while in Cebu. Walking distance from other important monuments in the city.

On my third visit, Magellan's Cross continues to enchant me, evoking a sense of time travel to the era when the Philippines was first discovered by the Spaniards. The historical resonance is truly captivating. Yet, it's worth noting that the site tends to get quite crowded, and locals often approach, eager to sell candles and various religious items, adding a dynamic layer to the overall experience.

Magellan's cross, a Classic city hall hosted by the warm hospitality of our city employees, and our heritage church in one area. Beautifully lit at night.

When you visit stop by the religious artifacts shops on the side and have coffee at the Old La Fortuna bakeshop.

A great place to know more about how Christianity started in Cebu. The place is clean and safe. The vendors weren't pushy. It's right next to Sto Nino Church which is also plays a very big part of Cebus history and Filipino culture.

No entrance fee is needed upon entering the Magellan’s Cross. This establishment is also situated beside Minor Basilica of Holy Child of Cebu also known as the Sto. Nino Church. Don’t forget to light 🔥 a candle 🕯 here after visiting Magellan’s Cross! Better to have your day viewing during weekday, less people are around.

A little history from Wikipedia:

Magellan's Cross Pavilion is a stone kiosk in Cebu City, Philippines. The structure is situated on Plaza Sugbo beside the Basilica del Santo Niño. It houses a Christian cross that was planted by explorers of the Spanish expedition of the first circumnavigation of the world, led by Ferdinand Magellan, upon arriving in Cebu in the Philippines on April 21, 1521.

Along with the Basilica del Santo Niño's church and convent buildings, the pavilion is a declared National Cultural Treasure of the Philippines.
