Amazing place. Would recommend doing the 3 day hike you don’t really need a tour guide fyi, doing it solo is perfectly fine and easy.

Had a fun tour here. The canyon is so scenic and there's plenty of activities nearby like kayaking, hot baths, condor watching, zipline and ATVs.

Stunningly beautiful but incredibly challenging trekking. Would recommend for experienced hikers with rubber bones.
It is absolutely worth heading to the oasis and having a swim.

Amazing place to go condor spotting. The tours leave quite early from Arequipa, but it is more than worth it. The hiking around the canyon is quite easy and can be done without a guide (just make sure you arrange the transport from and back to Arequipa in time).

Wonderful trek with beautiful mountains and landscapes. However, be prepared for a long descent that takes about 3.5 hours to complete. A small piece of advice: stay away from the edge as the stones may not be stable, and you could fall. This was my mistake. I almost fell, but I managed to catch hold of a branch; otherwise, it could have been a nasty fall.

This place is just wonderful anytime. The power of nature and the beauty of the worst is insane. I enjoyed the hiking treks, discovering traditions, meetings with local people, and to we their lives in their natural environment. It was just a whole life experience and I would love to do it anytime and again. Thank you 🌞🇵🇪

Great 3 day hike, from Cabanaconde to Fire, cascada Huaruro and onto the oasis! Worth every minute!

Amazing experience walking on the edge of the canyon to the condor view point. Many condor came ou at about 10am. On the way to the canyon the views are stunning as well. Worth the ride…but be ready for a shaky one if you continue to Puno after.

Amazing natural wonder, this canyon is not only beautiful for its stunning views, but also for the precious and spectacular wildlife. Giant hummingbirds, brown eagles and the majestic condors can be seen roaming around freely in this area.

This place is hard to beat. After having driven from Lima to Huacachina to Nazca to Arequipa to Colca Canyon... we were ready for some 5 star relaxation, and 5 stars isn't exactly what Peru is all about (I say that with love and admiration).
Colca Canyon Lodge and the Colca Canyon itself were majestic.
I will say that we went shortly after the strikes in March 2023, and that left us with almost the entire country to ourselves, which was wonderful. No crowds, no lines, no waiting.
Seeing the Condors soar at 12,000 feet over, arguably, the deepest canyon in the world... is something to see.

The view is amazing, and getting to see condors flying in the wild is a thrilling experience! There’s a short hike, but it’s uphill. Also some people definitely suffer from altitude sickness, so be prepared!

Very nice canyon and landscape. There is a walking track along the canyon; long enough for an entire day of hiking. With a bit of luck one can see many condors flying through the canyon.

Beautiful place where you can see wild condors. The views are breathtaking and there are few places I have seen with such views. The bus ride from arequipa will take roughly 4 hours and will include some sights as well. If you are anywhere near I would recommend this place.

This is a beautiful and tough trekking experience. The hike that we were on was from the upper ridge down to the valley. We spent the night in the valley and then hiked our way out the next day. Take your time and be careful. The air is thinner at this attitude. Bring plenty of water. If you can afford to carry extra water, it will save you some money. There may be vendors selling items but they will charge 5 to 10 times as much as you could find it in town.

A lovely day out. Beautiful landscapes & comparatively good roads.
The highlight is the 'Condor Crossing' where you get the opportunity to see condors riding the thermals. We had one fly 4-5 metres above our heads. However you need to be there by 08.00 at least. It is normally over by 09.15 ish.
Health & safety is not a big concern here so find somewhere safe to sit or stand.

Wonderful views and condors. I would recommend 2-day trip to the bottom and sleeping in the oasis.

Anazing!! The 3 day hike was awesome. The places quaint but comfortable. Good food. Our favorite places was the oasis. What a fun place to be in. Got to enjoy the pool because we got there around noon. If we had done the 2 days we would have gotten there in the evening. The hikes were pretty easy. Of course the last part was climbing out of the canyon. But I didnt use a mule. It took me 3 hrs. But for a 60 years old I think i did pretty good. We had a great guide, spoke very good English. A really friendly guy. He didnt pushed us he let us walk at our own pace. But always stayed with the last person.

This is such a beautiful place to visit. I only came to see the condors, but the hiking is supposed to be spectacular. If I were you, I wouldn't take a day trek from Arequipa, but instead stay in Chivay or Cabanaconde. This way you have more options. Also, don't trust the weather of Chivay. It doesn't dictate weather in other places.

Surely a great place to visit thanks to its beautiful landscape and sceneries, a view to seven volcanos (and a chance to hike up Misti), with thermal springs and salt lakes and a condor viewpoint as well as picturesque little towns and villages such as Maca where you see people in the traditional hand-crafted costumes and admire local crafts. Try out pisco with sancayo when around.

This location is well worth the struggle. Once here all your needs are taken care of. The sheer energy of the river runs through you, cleansing and relieving you of all stress. The thermal baths, on site, give you complete release of all earthly stress. The staff is top shelf. I strongly recommend this place for anyone looking for the complete Andean hospitality experience.
