I really enjoyed my time at Aguas Calientes hot spring. The walk to the springs is pleasant, the water was 93 - 100 degrees with cold fountains. They have a 1.5 hr limit, which they didn't seem to mind a longer stay. I nearly had the place to myself around 9am both days. Quaint, shamanistic / Inka bar area, clean facilities. Bring your own toilet paper as with most things in Peru. Free locker service and friendly staff. I found prior reviews to be misleading, potentially posted by people who are unfamiliar with hot spring water variations, and or need something to complain about.

People complaining about the water being dirty, must have never been to the wild hot springs. It's not a spa and not a public pool filled with the chlorine, but actual mineral water. It's cloudy and there might be some flies in the pools, but it's not dirty.
Overall we had a nice experience: warm relaxing water, all the basic facilities are there, lovely cafe on top and a beautiful walk to the waterfall. Spent a couple of hours in this place, no regrets at all

Hilarious to read all the Reviews complaining about the water wuality. The muddy coloration of the water is because of the sediments, not because it’s dirty. In fact it’s actually healthy and can be used for medical purposes. It’s unfiltered, just as it comes out of the ground. After a long day of hiking there is nothing better than soaking in a nice warm pool.

This is a charming, very basic hot spring bath that the locals visits.

The way to the hot spring is steep (but if you came here to see Machu Picchu what were you expecting). Entrance fee is 20 Sol. On your way up you’ll pass couple of places where you can rent towels (around 3 Sol) and even a swim suit.

There are changing cabins and free locker rooms. Entrance to the bath is allowed only wearing swimsuits, no street shoes allowed.

There a couple of different pools with varying temperatures, from 14*C (57*F) up to 37*C (99*F).

There is a bar and they will serve you drinks while you are soaking in the bath.

Absolutely loved this place, charming and relaxing.

Great place to visit, definitely worth coming again. Highly recommend if your in Aguascalientes. The water is soothing, especially after the hike in Machu Pichu. Definitely recommend you wear sunscreen, as the sun will burn you. Other than that, awesome!

No idea why this place has bad reviews. It offers various hot pools to soak in and take in the scenery while being served drinks by kind, attentive staff. Perhaps people need to manage their expectations. Its naturally heated geothermal water with obviously higher dissolved mineral content than tap water in a western country. There is also more sulphur than found in artificially heated water which explains the distinctive smell and water colour. Don’t be put off by negative reviews, this place is fantastic.

It was perfect soaking in this hot spring after hiking Machu Pichu. If you don’t have a swim suit you can rent one at the last store before the entrance for just 5 Soles.

A great place! You can rent towels and even swimming suits from the vendors at the gate, then get in and soak and maybe even enjoy a drink. Yes, the water has a bit of sediments but it's natural and runs through at a good rate, so it is clean. The hottest pools are at 37C, so they are comfortably warm. They provide free lockers. The people are nice. Overall, it's a perfect setup for the location.

This is not to be missed if you arrive a bit worn like we did after 5 days on the Salkantay trail. Water is about 35 C, not too hot. A short walk from any hotel in Aguas Calientes.
