La Casita de Don Daniel

Together with my friend, we stayed at La Casita de Don Daniel for just one night. We were looking for a place providing good value for money, and we got exactly that. The host is extremely friendly, helpful and dedicated to provide the best experience possible. In the morning, we were provided with some local ingredients for our breakfast. Thank you so much, definitely recommend this hostel!

The host, Ariel, is such a kind and helpful person, we felt like home.
He helped us with many plans in El Valle, but also across whole Panama and showed us some nice places to go.

We had also enjoyable evenings with music sessions and singing. There is no doubt: If you are in el valle, go there!

But do not expect luxury or fanciness. It is a place to enjoy nature, good music and great company.

We were two couples, shared one sleeping room and had a private bathroom. Kitchen was well equipped and you are allowed to use any time the garden, living room, instruments, bikes etc.

Ariel was a the perfect host! We had a great time staying in the beautiful rooms, and Ariel showed us all of the local spots and great hikes. There was live music at the hostel, and lots of laughs. We had so much fun, thank you Ariel!

Really friendly and helpful owners are just one of the reasons to visit this little gem. As well as your comfortable room you have access to a fully equipped kitchen to prepare anything from a coffee to complete meals, several lounging areas to eat your food and a nice garden with a stream, and hammocks to enjoy them from. If you are feeling energetic the trailhead for the famous India Dormida hike is only 200 metres away and well worth if if you like waterfalls,mountain pools and spectacular views. The town centre is a 15-20 stroll away but there are many little shops much closer for basic supplies and snacks. If you want to explore further afield why not borrow one of the mountain bikes that are included with your room. In the evening (or whenever) Don Daniel is always up for a music session with guitars and a keyboard on hand and enough drums and percussion instruments to allow everyone to take part. This place is thoroughly recommended. We'll be back for sure.

La Casita De Don Daniel is nice and cozy camp site, where you can either sleep in your tent in the garden or rent a room to sleep. The owner of the place Ariel is very nice guy, who loves music. The place has clean showers and toilets, common living room, where you can just chill or have a jam session with Ariel, fully equipped kitchen and outside quarter under the roof with couple tables and hammakas to enjoy your dinner and evening. What more, there is a small river, where you can cool down after your hike.

Very nice place, super helpful owners. A home away from home where you feel extremely welcome. Also the best base to climb the India dormida trail.

Nous avons adoré notre séjour ici, Daniel est très sympa, au petit soin pour ses invités. Le lieu est très accueillant, on s'y sent bien !
De beaux moments de partage en musique et avec Music (le chien trop mignon).
À noter, Daniel prête des vélos pour aller dans le centre et se ballader 👌😀.

Me gusto la cabaña de la Casita de Don Daniel, muy comoda, rodeada de naturaleza, cuenta con una hermosa decoración, con áreas comunes para cocinar, libros para lectura. Y su anfitrión Ariel, muy amable y atento.

Alloggio presso il proprietario, Don Ariel, simpaticissimo. Le camere sono semplici ma molto pulite, ci sono dei negozietti (chioschi) a due passi dove trovare il necessario per un pranzo o una cena. A 100 m la partenza di un trail (La India Dormida) nel bel mezzo della foresta pluviale. Siamo stati fortunati, dalla casa abbiamo visto dei tucani e dei colibrì mentre bevevamo una birra!

Muy buen lugar, excelente ambiente y cerca de muchas atracciones.

Hermoso hostal, ubicado en una zona muy tranquila del Valle de Anton. Las habitaciones son amplias y se puede utilizar la cocina. Destaco por sobretodo a sus dueños, muy amables y simpáticos y siempre dispuestos a compartir una conversación. Tuvimos una gran estadía :)

Este hostal es extremadamente hogareño e higiénico. Tiene ubicación perfecta en una vía principal, a tan solo 100 metros de la entrada del sendero a la India Dormida. Ariel, el dueño siempre está pendiente de cualquier necesidad que los huéspedes puedan tener. El agua de la pluma es potable y fresca todo el tiempo. Las habitaciones disponibles van desde cama doble para dos personas hasta tipo cabaña para máximo 5 personas. Los precios son accesibles. Además se brinda la posibilidad de dormir afuera, en tiendas de montaña. Hay WiFi disponible 24 horas y cocina amplia y bien variada. Inclusive existe la posibilidad de meterse al riachuelo y darse un baño con agua fresca de montaña. Inclusive hay instrumentos musicales disponibles para los huéspedes con dotes musicales. Tiene estacionamiento interno suficiente para unos 14 automóviles. Por razones obvias es necesario hacer la reserva con el debido tiempo prudente. En síntesis recomendaría la estadía en La Casita de Don Daniel.

Es un lugar sencillo pero acogedor para las personas q buscamos algo de tranquilidad y relajación, muy buen servicio por parte del sr Ariel, la verdad me encantó mi estadía allí

Unser spontaner Aufenthalte bei Ariel und Janie war unglaublich toll. Wir wurden so herzlich empfangen und sofort mit hilfreichen Informationen ausgestattet. Ariel hat uns Essen und Trinken in der Unterkunft angeboten, da wir spät angereist sind und keine Verpflegung mehr hatten und ein super leckeres Restaurant mit einheimischem Essen zu lokalen Preisen gezeigt. Nach dem Essen hatte Gabriel uns noch ein paar seiner eigenen Songs vorgespielt, uns von seinem spannenden Leben erzählt und wir saßen bei Wein und Snacks im wunderschönen Garten und haben einen tollen Abend verbracht. Die casita ist direkt am Eingang des sendero de la india dormida gelegen und wir hatten eine tolle Wanderung. Definitiv weiterzuempfehlen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

El personal es super atento y amable, la habitación en la que me alojé muy agradable, el lugar está muy lindo para estar y hay donde estacionar y acampar.

La casita de don Daniel es un lugar maravilloso dónde uno se siente cómo en casa enseguida, Ariel es muy amable y te ayuda con lo que sea ! La casa es bonita, cómoda y limpia y además está ubicada justo en la entrada del sendero de la india catalina. Ariel es músico y por la noche suele hacer fogatas mientras todos cantan canciones, realmente fue una experiencia increíble !!!

Un lugar de 10, habitar en un antiguo cráter de un volcán como es el Valle de Antón y en la compañía de la familia Blanco, creo que es de las mejores cosas que se pueden hacer en Panamá. Gracias Ariel & Family
