Seeing pre-Columbian petroglyphs (symbols engraved in rock) so close is, alone, well worth the 3 dollars entrance ticket. Reaching the huge rock with the petroglyphs is an easy 5 minute walk - easy trail from the entrance on the road where you can park your car. After the rock the "real trail" begins in earnest and that's immediately rather steep and muddy, because it rand parallel to a creek with two-three waterfalls in the first few minutes of the trail. It requires trekking shoes or at least shoes with a good grip and a minimum of fitness and mobility (anyone can reach the stone with the petroglyphs, though). No one knows for certain what the petroglyphs represent. Some sources indicate that they are religious symbols, others a harvest calendar and others still a map of the place.

The story behind this the stone is very interesting but it's only one activity on the way to do the sleeping indian hike which is very recommended.
To enter the national park you'll have to pay just $2 and after about 5 minutes walking from staring you get to the stone and get going to the next point after taking some pics.

Beautiful place!!! 3 bucks, clear path, definitely not limited mobility friendly but for the fit"ish" really great little hike, about an hour up and down... beautiful waterfalls, pictographs are cool, felt safe as a 50's solo female traveler ...you will see school children and locals using this path to and from school (quite embarrassing really as you huff and puff and the kids and old folks blow right by you:-)

Beautiful peaceful place with interesting petroglyphs on the rocks. Easy 5 minute walk from parking lot. Artist market is at the beginning of the walk

At 55 I was able to finish the course but knew about it the next day. It's not like an easy forest trail like they have in the US. You are scrambling up the side of a small mountain. The view at the top is great though.

Can get there by yourself since access is easy and close, but if you know Spanish the local kids can give you a lively explanation of the petroglyphs on the rock for a small donation (it's whatever you wish, they are not pushy, but be generous!).
