What a pleasant town and at a temperature that is just as pleasing. Casa Juan is just a short walk to enjoyment but is itself also a pleasant environment at a great price.

One of my favorite hostels ever. Such a nice vibe, always music on, games to play, cozy places to chill, very clean, amazingly equipped kitchen, and tents are cozy and a great deal. Free bikes! Great location. Awesome staff. Stay here!

This is a backpacker's place, with very basic private rooms and dormitories, so just know what to expect. We had 3 private rooms. Two were ok, the 3rd one opened up to a common space. Would not be for me, but worse was the very loud fan in that room.
I like dogs, but was not too happy that they used all sofas.
The garden is nice and relaxing, one can start the trail to Sleeping Indian from there and also walk to the centre of town.
The person dealing with the guests is very friendly and helpful.

The guys here worked hard to make sure my friend and I had an opportunity to go see one of the amazing waterfalls nearby during our stay in El Valle even though we weren’t even guests at the hostel. Shout out to Juan Luis for making it happen and guiding our tour! The hostel space was really cool and laid back and everyone was so helpful. I would stay here next time as a guest, or just come hang out and have a beer and play pool on a rainy afternoon.

Big area, the place was super comfortable with plenty of places to hang out. The kitchen is great, the staff are awesome. The beds were comfortable .

Super place to stay for its price, great location, friendly owners and people, and can buy beers on site if you desire, bikes are available to get around the town faster but can be limited on comforts.
There are lockers here to secure your personal items but requires you bring a lock. Ear plugs can be a good idea if you want to retire early for a hike as some people stay up past midnight.

Nice place to stay a few days. The crew team try to make you feel like home, with nice hospitality. Prices are ok and the location is perfect. During daylight this hostal is quite and relax. But during night is pretty fun with customized music, alcoholic drinks, pool table and nice people.

Loved this hostel. Had a good kitchen with gas hobs, lots of space to chill out and a bar. My friend left something here and the owners arranged for someone to bring it to us in Panama city, great service.

I'm only writing this review to review the dogs. The room was ok for us for the price.

The hostel has two dogs, Juanita and Pedro. They are super cute (and like treats. Get the T-bone treats from Rey supermarket). We took the dogs for two hikes and had an amazing time with them. Juanita is super sweet and playful. Pedro is more.. Protective. However, they instantly form a pack with you so stray dogs won't be one of your problems if you go with them.

Very nice place to stay! Everything was very clean and well maintained, the employees and the guests were very friendly, helpful and in a good mood! A very large kitchen, good tips for trips and a large garden.
There is always someone from the staff present and has an open ear. Two nice dogs, an even nicer cat and mostly younger guests provide a good atmosphere.

Man let me tell you, I loved this place! I came here with my friends to camp, we were a group of 7 and all of us loved this place. It was pretty cozy and the staff made you feel very welcome. During our first night staying we played pool with the staff and it was as if we were long time friends! They were always willing to help and would answer any question we had about moving around town and things like that. I'm actually from Panama but it was my first time at El valle so I appreciated that. They have a lot of space to camp and if you don't have a tent they can lend you one for just one more dollar. The showers had hot water, you can use the kitchen area to prepare your food, they have cozy hammocks everywhere, you can use the bikes for free and they also have laundry service. Totally would recommend for people who want to stay and travel in a budget and just like to chill around. Not recommended if you are into a luxury lifestyle tho.

Hidden gem of a hostel. Really cool set-up with a great chill out area, including pool table and quality sound system (which you can control). Very friendly staff and big kitchen area. Perfect base for activities.
