Well appointed room for the price.
All staff very friendly and very helpful. Easy access to markets, restaurants and most of Groningen.

Very good Service for a budget place, staff helpful and nice even when outside the box thinking is needed. Kind-spirited owner who loves what he does. Cozy beds, room and bath was clean and functional, equipped with fridge and coffee machines, a small desk, TV and good WiFi. Decorations with an eye for details. Elevator and Rooftop Bar. Will book again anytime.

Wow! The staff is so friendly and attentive!Lovely, newly furnished rooms. Comfortable beds. Quirky decor and travel theme. Feel like we stumbled into a gem of a hotel. Huge variety of rooms from tiny to spacious. We rented a deluxe double and a 1 bedroom that slept 3. Both felt spacious. Breakfast was fresh. Has bar and good coffee. We were able to rent bikes at the hotel, which was also convenient. As they say on their site, there is restaurant noise as you are in the center of the action. We didn’t need the provided ear plugs and slept great on the first floor. We will definitely be staying here again next time in Groningen.

We have visited several times during 2023. The rooms are great value for money, are clean and have everything you need. The team is amazing, super friendly and helpful. They have great knowledge of Groningen. Both the bar at reception and the roof top terrace bar are excellent! Breakfast was also good. If you plan to visit Groningen, stay here!

Great spot for a short stay in Groningen. Friendly staff and nice room. But you are staying in the middle of a city so you might hear some noise during the evening. You have the option to use the free earplugs provided in the room ...or go out and have a drink with the locals. Enjoy the city and make new friends!

Had an awesome stay at "The happy traveler" with my girlfriend, we booked the room with kitchen and balcony and it was very clean, well equipped and comfortable as well.
The location is one of the most central ones you can get in the city and therefore it is a little bit noisy, but we did not have any issues with that.

Stuff is super friendly and the hotel is furnished with so much attention to detail - we loved it and would defininetely come back again!

Great place if you need to be in Groningen. Right in the centre near everything. Comfortable. Friendly. Get the room with a balcony- lovely city roof scape view.

Not ideal if you're traveling on business as the room is not setup for use of a laptop.

Fabulous fabulous fabulous. The decor of this place is so creative. Globe lights. Airplane engine lamp. Airplane seats. Fantastic breakfast and they will help with gluten free. Great coffee. Comfortable beds. The staff is always available. The location is right in the center and close to the university. Healthy restaurants close by. We love this place.

The Happy Traveler guesthouse does really everything needed to ensure that its guests are indeed happy travelers.
A sumptuous breakfast with friendly service awaited me after a restful night in the excellent bed. The room lacked nothing. Coffee and tea making facilities, a fridge and air conditioning complemented a well appointed shower room. All was absolutely spotless and to a high standard of care. The reception staff were helpful, friendly and informative. I have stayed at many places in and around Groningen while visiting my daughter at the uni here. This is the guesthouse that I shall return to. For those with cars, the parking garage is about 5 minutes walk away.

Lovely place! We had a very enjoyable stay. Rick, the owner, has thought of every detail to ensure an exciting and comfortable visit in Groningen and has poured a lot of love into the hotel. I would highly recommend staying here!

The room had a nespresso coffee machine and a kettle for tea and a mini fridge. The bed is comfortable and towels were provided. Nice facilities overall. All staff were very friendly!

Really awesome and helpful staff. The hotel has a cool design and plenty of charm. Rooms are very clean and the bathroom is pretty spacious. Fun atmosphere on the rooftop bar, even leading to the creation of a new cocktail. Can't say anything bad about this place. Oh, and check out the location...

This hotel offered me and my colleagues good services that were beyond our expectations. The hotel is clean with nice rooms for resting as well as working. The bar and wide range of drinks as well as well delicious breakfast were of high standard to us. There no doubt that my next visit to Groningen, I will stay in this beautiful hotel.

I booked a stay at this property online as I just needed to stay 2 nights in this area. I never knew that short stay was the most enjoyable ever, I consider this place a Gem 💎 Great location, clean rooms and really nice host. I will place this property on my list of best places to stay in Groningen. Highly recommended.

The owners and co. were very welcoming and friendly and helped us at any second. Very nice atmosphere, the room was clean und fully equipped, even with a coffee machine! I definitely recommend this hotel! See you next time:)

Very nice room (1 bedroom). Friendly people and a great breakfast. Location is the best.
The only 'down' thing is that it's very difficult for a family of 4 to sit together for breakfast - the tables are not big enough for plates and cups. But we will be back!

I re as lly like guesthouse because when I checked in, the great hotel staff also rented a bicycle to me straight away. As a solo traveller, that is a big part of exploring a town, which I was able to do on a great bicycle rented on the spot at check in. I asked for a room with a view and got one, with great sky viewing. Super cozy bed, with perfect pillows. I was happy to have ordered the breakfast, with a mechanical orange juicer, so cool. Nothing tops Happy Traveller when it comes to decor, it's a perfect mix of planet Earth and jet travel
The seats are airline seats, order breakfast just to take in the atmosphere of the decor, and my bacon eggs and crossiant were delicious, can't say enough nice words about Happy Traveler

The staff was absolutely amazing. Location is also ideal as they are right in the center, giving you a huge choice of places to go eat or have a drink. I had after a heavy cycling day and was very tired. They also had a great place for me to keep my bike in safety as I went to visit the city and it’s night life. The breakfast was complete with also fresh orange juice to demand, bacon, scrambled eggs, cereals… special mention to the cheese and meat which were in see through plastic crates (keeping the freshness and not in open air), also a nice range of fresh fruit (apples, bananas, mangos, avocados… Really enjoyed it while seated in airplane chairs 😄 Thanks for the great stay. Highly recommended !

Definitely the best hotel in the centre of Groningen! I had a wonderful experience at the Happy Traveler. The staff is extremely efficient, pleasant and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and always clean. The position is great! It is located in the city centre and this makes easy to get around. I highly recommend it!
