Bavo Basisschool (Jenaplanschool)

If you are a newcomer, definitely consider Bavo as a school. It's hard to find a good fit if you have a sensitive kid. We are so happy with my 5-year-old's class. Out of 20 kids, about 7 are from expat families from many different countries - Peru, Argentina, Italy, USA, and more. Teacher Irma is very good with children with anxiety. They allow my daughter to wear headphones for sensory accommodation. What's extra great is that kids are allowed to come home on lunch break and kindergarten groups have no school on Wednesdays. Lunch at home has been super helpful with separation anxiety! At another school in town we felt a lot of pressure to have our sensitive child 'fit the mold'. Bavo has been very collaborative. The director is proud of her school - you can tell in every interaction. It's easy to see why. I'm amazed how much happier my kiddo is here. It's actually a larger class size than she had before but the kids have a lighter spirit. My kiddo has been more successful learning Dutch here because she is happier. I think that having more purpose to the teaching, rather than having a kindergarten environment that is like play-care, is helping to engage my daughter. We had so much stress about school for the 4 months prior to switching. I wish I had approached Bavo sooner. Definitely contact Bavo if you're looking for a school to work with you as a team!

Dit is echt een geweldige school! Veel aandacht voor elk kind. Een betrokken team en veel aandacht voor sociale vaardigheden en onderzoekend leren.
