Il Lago restaurant

Best Italian restaurant I have been to in a long time. Food was delicious, service impeccable and the owner is a great guy who treats everyone as if they were lifetime customers. My first time in Groningen, but when I return, this restaurant is definitely a place I will return to.

Great food and service!

After arriving in groningen and experimenting most of italian restaurants in the city, I decided to try Il Lago.
I was a greeted by a familiar and homely environment, that combined with the light music playing in the background gave off the perfect atmosphere you look for in a place like this.
We experimented one of the italian wine options and opted for the pino grigio, which was just fenomenal.
We started by trying the italian proovarij as it was recommended by our sommelier.
It was just fantastic.
Then we tried the pizzas and the experience was just getting better.
The food was surprisingly fast and the portions were very favourable.
We ended up by getting the tasty e addictive home made tiramisu complemented with two wonderful scropinos and to close out our night a pair of authentic italian capuccinos.
Top top of an extremely enjoyable evening we were approached by the host and owner with 2 on-the-house home made lemoncellos.
5 star experience, will definitely come back in the near future.

Typical Italian products, very tasting and the atmosphere is just so good!

Wonderful Italian in Groningen. Get their calzone, you won’t be disappointed.

For a couple of years now, Il Lago is my local Italian restaurant. The atmosphere is informal and the food is very tasteful.
For vegetarians I recommend the pizza Di Mama with a lot of vegetables.

It is quick, reasonably priced and delicious food. Justa lika da Mama makes. We loved our eating experience

Just the best Italian food in town. Great service, actual Italians work here. They speak Italian, Dutch and English (Probably German Too). Lots of choice in Pizza, Pasta and other meals. And the best steak I've had.

Best Italian food outside Italy. The service is spot on and the food is wow. The asparagus soup is outstanding. I would give this restaurant 6 out of 5 stars!

in my trip to groningen I ordered from this place and it was amazing. good quality. friendly people. i enjoyed it so much that i came back before going back home. pizza calzone and lasagne was really good!!

Very good authentic pizza's. I had the quatro formage but I missed a bit gorgonzola, but the taste was there and I really enjoyed it. 8/10
