I’m quite shocked by the reviews here 😮 we had a positive experience visiting the store. We went inside and were greeted by the owner. She also asked if we needed assistance and was really friendly. We found some nice items for Christmas, and while my wife was paying I asked if I could take some photos to which she replied of-course! We had a pleasant conversation and positive experience from our end. Such a cozy store - like something out of the hobbit :)

A beautiful store in the centre of Haarlem. I bought cards and wrapping paper here multiple times and the owner has always been nice and welcoming to me. I do understand why she needs to get a fee for entering the shop since she is alone and the city of Haarlem is always too busy, especially during weekends. With patience and respect for the shop owner, you can enjoy a relaxing moment of shopping without being disturbed.😊😇

A cute shop with something for everyone! I bought a lovely tile piece by a contemporary artist appropriating the blue and white colours and motifs of delft china and adding a small amount of colour in the form of iceskating figures. Peaceful browsing experience due to the owner’s entry policy. If you don’t buy anything you can donate 1€ to charity!

I have frequented this store many times over the years.. I always felt she has the most amazing collection in one place. I love her jewelry which she makes herself for the most part and her taste is practically perfect in everything. I’m actually happy that she made some rules in order to enter the store because In the past it was always very difficult to move about and have a little moment to look at all the unique and wonderful stuff that she has on display.
I don’t believe that’s rude I believe that's practical.
It is by far my favorite shop in Haarlem.

This place is MAGICAL!
I spent over an hour here, discovering all of the wonderful things they have in this shop.
The owner was very helpful and really nice, and even gave me recommendations for vegetarian restaurants (which are hard to find otherwise).
She also makes the most beautiful illustrations, that you can buy here to.
It's definitely a Must-See in Haarlem!

Also this is a small business, and a small shop, owned by real people and not some corporation/chain. Given the trying times we live in, the shops policy are necessary for this shop to continue to exist.
So, the shops policy is: You have to buy something, if you enter the shop. This is because a small shop like this cannot exist by people just browsing. I personally find that more than understandable.
And they have so so SO many great things that you will end up wanting to buy the whole shop anyway :)
And if you really just want to browse, you can just buy a postcard and support the shop, so you can come browse again the next time you come here.

One of the most incredible small shops we came across in Haarlem!
The amazing owner was helpful and just a nice kind person to talk to while we browsed around.
The shop itself is just full of little treasures and interesting finds, and fair priced which is not so common nowadays.
Definitely a must to visit if you're in town.!

I don't understand all the negative comments here. I visited this store with my friend, it looked super cute and we decided to check it out. The owner was really nice and she asked us to read her enterance policy (pay 1 euro if you decide not to buy anything). This was totally understandable to us, and later she explained why she decided to set that rule. She was really nice to us, told us about the store history and recommended what else we should see. Honestly, it's really hard not to by anything in her store becuase everything is super nice and cute. The owner creates and offers a lot of different stuff in the store so if you can get over leaving 1 euro if you don't find something for yourself or a souvenir for a loved one, I would definitely recommend checking the store.

me and my friends went in to this amazing shop and it was full of magical trinkets and the lady who ran the shop was so cool and friendly. I wish I could buy everything in the shop. I would recommend everyone to come here!

Absolutely love this shop! The owner is really nice and conscious of animal rights and the environment. The shop is filled with beautiful products carefully picked by the owner. Would absolutely recommend, unless you wear fur, then you are denied acces (and rightfully so!). Got a very warm welcome and service!

This shop has a carefully curated selection of wonderful little things. It feels like stepping into another world as soon as you enter the store. With a wide range of vases in all shapes and sizes, candles from Scandinavia, artistic tiles, magnets made from Scrabble stones, handmade cards, drawer handles and stationery made of brass, just to name a small selection of the wide range, there is a magical mood when shopping, which you hardly experience anywhere else. I could go to Sjakie 100 times and discover something new every time! A shop with a lot of heart and soul which I visit every time I am in Haarlem.

Van zo'n miniwarenhuis/minimuseum is er maar een! De winkel is volgepakt met originele cadeaus en prachtige, grotendeels zelfgemaakte snuisterijen. Altijd vriendelijk geholpen door de eigenaresse. Ik kom steeds weer verrassende cadeautjes tegen en slaag er altijd!

Hele leuke winkel. De recensies staan vol met mensen die boos zijn over de euro entree, het is volkomen logisch in mijn ogen. Het is een krappe winkel die ontzettend vol staat, er is simpelweg geen ruimte voor iedereen om doelloos rond te snuffelen. Hele leuke winkel met leuke spulletjes en een lieve vrouw als je je gewoon netjes aan haar regels houdt wat mij niet al te lastig lijkt. Vorig jaar een poster gekocht voor een super goede prijs en nog steeds ontzettend blij mee!

Ik begrijp niet waarom er zoveel slechte recensies zijn. Als je je houdt aan een paar simpele regels, kun je hier heel leuk winkelen:

- Je kijkt de eigenaresse nooit in je ogen maar kijkt naar de grond.

-Voordat je de winkel betreedt, verklaar je duidelijk wie je bent en hoeveel je van plan bent uit te geven (minimaal 150 euro).

-Je loopt één keer rond en koopt alles wat je oppakt, zonder iets terug te leggen.

-Na het winkelen ga je rechtstreeks naar de kassa en leg je je spullen op de balie als je wordt aangesproken.

-Je betaalt contant het bedrag dat de eigenaresse vraagt zonder iets te zeggen, zelfs als het lijkt alsof het meer is dan je zou moeten betalen.

-Je vraagt niet om een bon en ook niet om wisselgeld.

Je verlaat de winkel direct.

Met een ontzettend opgewekt gevoel ontvangen in deze mooie home goods store. Nadat ik 1 euro entree heb betaald mocht het feestje beginnen! Ik vroeg of zij een folder of aanbiedingen hadden waarna de mevrouw van de winkel een oerkreet uitliet. Zij liep stappend op mij af terwijl zij “21 can you do some for me” zij herhaalde deze zin zo een 10x voordat zij recht voor mijn persoon stond en mij bij mijn keel pakte en mij passief aggressive naar buiten gooide

Fantastisch winkels allebei, met leuke artikelen en aardige eigenaars. Ik kom er graag voor mij zelf en zeker ook voor leuke cadeau’s die altijd in goede aarde vallen bij vrienden en familie.
Vindt er altijd wel iets.

Tot mijn groot verdriet lees ik veel negatieve reviews over de meest bijzondere, de mooiste en fijnste winkel die Haarlem heeft! De eigenaresse Sjakie is een artistieke, kunstzinnige persoonlijkheid. Ze heeft een winkel met een prachtige collectie, zeker de moeite waard om te bezoeken als je in Haarlem bent!

Superleuk winkeltje! De euro vind ik begrijpelijk als je ziet hoe vol met curiosa het winkeltje staat. Als je daar niks van je gading vind…
We zijn erg vriendelijk, gezellig en leuk geholpen door de eigenaresse. We komen zeker nog een keer terug! 😃

Ik kom vrijwel wekelijks bij Sjakie's. Voor een leuk duurzaam cadeautje, een plant of om mezelf te trakteren op een van de tig leuke spullen waar ik verliefd op ben geworden in haar winkel. Eigenlijk wil ik wel bijna alles kopen. De reviews die ik hier lees herken ik niet. Ik heb altijd erg veel lol en er is vaak alle ruimte voor een praatje terwijl Sjakie of Hans mijn aankopen mooi inpakken. Voor de pandemie stond de winkel vaak vol en hadden ze veel personeel nodig om de lieve klanten van de winkeldieven te onderscheiden. Destijds kwam ik alleen vlak voor sluitingstijd, omdat ik panisch word van drukte. Persoonlijk word ik blijer van deze rustige winkel en al het persoonlijk advies. Dus die 1 euro entree, betaal ik met alle liefde.

Fantastisch winkeltje bomvol originaliteit! Het maakt de creatieveling in je los. Je kunt hier gewoon niet weg zonder de verleiding om iets te kopen. Laat je niet tegenhouden door het deurbeleid. Het is echt de moeite waard. In alles vind je zorgvuldigheid en aandacht terug. Ik kom hier zeker terug wanneer ik weer in Haarlem ben
