We were having a pulled pork burger with coleslaw and a steak burger with fries at Block & Barrels and it was really very good. We did not wait long at all and the waitresses were really friendly. Would definitely recommend!

Had the best 2 meals here on our trip from the UK. Really brilliant service , great food for the meat eaters and as a veggie the chef Max was really fab at helping me taste the falafel option. Answered all our many questions! Only advice is to book !

Really delicious burger and unique fries. Easy to recommend. Honestly the best burger I've had in a few years at the very least. Their steaks look really great as well and you could tell the other customers were there for the food. Picky American approved.

If you are anywhere near this restaurant you need to drop in. The food is the best ever. From the steak burger or pulled pork burger you can't go wrong. But if you like steak this is the best place for a rib eye or T bone absolutely amazing. Best steak ever you can't go wrong. Staff are the nicest ever and the service is next to none. Visit it you won't regret it 👏👏👏👏👏

I loved this restaurant. I go there every Sunday. The food is Delicious. A friend of mine knows the butcher who sells these guys their meat. Top quality meats 🍖 👏 👌 I recommend the steaks, Bacon cheeseburger, or pulled pork. Pita bread for starters. I'm waiting for them to add an American southern style chicken sandwich 🙏. This is the best overall restaurant I've been to in Europe. Period. I believe they could cook anything better than anyone else.

This restaurant is owned by a South African, so if you are in the area, please pop in and give him support. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals here. The Burgers were the best we have had in The Netherlands. The Butternut Vegetarian dish was delicious and full of flavour.

OK, so first off, the service is absolutely excellent. Great staff, both Dutch and international bringing a great vibe to the place.

The food was amazing, we ordered several starters to share, each very tasty. For mains, we had the dry aged rib-eyes. Myself as a BGE owner and having a steady supply of very high quality steaks, I'm often hesitant to order this kind of meat in a restaurant, but it was an absolute treat.

Dessert was out of this world too. All in all, a absolute gem to discover in the city of Groningen!

Amazing food, amazing service, and amazing atmosphere.

Solid 5 stars. Outstanding chicken wings, the rib eye medium rare was cooked perfectly with great meaty and smokey flavours. Big part of this amazing meal was our waiter Mike, who was very kind and very fun!

Great food and cozy atmosphere. I got a bavette and my partner got rump steak. They were both super delicious and cooked to perfection. Both come accompanied by coleslaw and gratin potatoes. The look of the place is also pretty cool as you can see and they have a terrace as well. Great atmosphere for a date night or even if you want to come with friends and enjoy some drinks.

Block & Barrels is the kind of place you go frequently. The food is great, the drinks are great, but the staff is amazing. Every time my co-workers and I would visit, we were greeted and treated like VIP. This is easily our favorite restaurant in Groningen. If you're in the area you should do yourself a favor and head over there now.

Delicious burger, juicy pulled pork sandwich and tasty beer. All was delicious, but the Brioche brulee was the perfect dish! The staff was nice and helpful.

Got a rib eye steak that was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Sides were a bit bland but I'm here for the meat anyway. Mac and cheese was fairly weak however.
Very pricey menu but was worth every penny.

Very tasty food, super enthusiastic host giving some background and South African references. The meat is expensive, but you get great quality for it.
