The room was clean and what we had booked.
The owner and the people who worked there were very nice and friendly and very helpful.
The food at the restaurant was delicious and the breakfast was really good( fresh bread eggs omelet bacon orange juice sausages and more all made at that day and really tasty ,we even had oliebollen(delicious))

We ate at the restaurant and the gentleman who runs it was so kind and provided great service. The food was well priced.

We stayed there for a night. The room is clean and decent, reasonable for rate we pay. It is located a short 150m or so walk from the nearest bus stop, where a hourly bus takes you to a train station. It is a short walk to the village centre and the picturesque part of Giethoorn, where you can rent a bike or a boat to tour the surrounding. We also had dinner there. The steak and schnitzel were delicious. The boss is also a friendly chap. He even offered us an extra serving of the salad for free.

I stayed at the hotel with my family and every peoples from the hotel was very nice and helpful. They gave an intro to the Giethoorn and explained what to do as tourist.
Rooms are clean and nice with big window and view.
Breakfast is also nice.

Specious room very close to the places to visit. Very welcoming and helpful hosts. Good food in the restaurant and good selection for breakfast. High recommended!

Best place to stay in Giethoorn. Fairly priced and a very warm and welcoming staff. The location is also good, close to village and the boat tours point. There is a supermarket near by. The hotel offers free parking and free breakfast which is freshly prepared. Overall we had an excellent stay.

Very good, big and clean room. The service was excellent. The hotel keeper was super friendly and very helpful, he gave us good advice on what to see and where as a tourist and where to get the best prices. Breakfast was fantastic, everything was very fresh.

The staffs were very very friendly and helpful. I felt warm welcome here. The room is simple, clean and with everything you need. The kind host is definitely a gem of this hotel.

Absolutely incredible service, food, and view of the sunset over the main canal in Giethoorn. Do yourself a favor and stop in here for food or drinks at a great price served by the owner DJ. He was such a friendly host!

What makes this hotel special is the hospitality shown by the owner. He was super friendly and helpful, giving us advice on what to do in the area and hosting us for our meals. We hired bikes and you can cycle to Giethoorn in a few minutes. On the second day, we cycled a round trip to Blokzijl, which was also lovely. We also had a nice boat tour too, which the owner helped us to organise.
The rooms were warm and comfortable with a good shower in the bathroom.
The restaurant had lots of choice and good beer.

This place has a personality. The owner and team takes pride in their place. Had the American burger and my wife the schnitzel... both fantastic but the schnitzel was the best I tasted in years

At d'Olde Smidse You find nice, friendly and polite staff. The food is excellent and for a reasonable price. Typical dutch dishes like "kroketten" fries with mayonnaise and frikandellen are served here. There are also more international foods available. The location is great near the village centre on the main road. With a bike, walking or boat You can explore the area. The facility is nare a bus stop.

Location is perfect for someone who wants to avoid the tourist crowds. Giethoorn center is 5 minutes walking away, food is good and room is spacious. Highly recommended.
