World of Windmills

Definitely would recommend if visiting the Netherlands! Great for families but also I’m 30 and I had fun. We skipped the museum and just walked around the grounds. There are tons of little shops you can go in and out of. I bought some handmade soap and some almond pastry (so good). You can also pay extra to walk to the top of one of the windmills and see inside of it (would recommend). It was rainy and cold and we still had a great time.

We arrived on a Saturday morning right at 10:00 when they open up. The volunteers took us to every level in the mill and allowed us to help set the sails and prep the mill for work. Unbelievable experience. FYI - they work for tips.

Extremely knowledgeable and friendly guys. The mill itself is a work of art, almost on the scale of magic. Must see.
