Amazing place!

We had the schnitzel & bratwursts. Delicious food & a very unique design.

We enjoyed the apfelstrudel & the apple juice as well.

The prices are very good for the food you get.

5 stars for the service too, very friendly.

Will definitely come back!

Nice restaurant in the city center! All the dishes we ordered tasted great, and I especially liked their apfelstrudel (the vanilla sauce was amazing). The service was friendly, and we didn't have to wait very long for our food to come out, which was nice. Also, everything on the menu is quite affordable!

Incredible, the food was great, we ordered Bratwurst und Currywurst and two Schnitzel. Both were great, but without a doubt I'd go for the Schnitzel. For dessert we had Apfelstrudel and it was also delicious. We will definitely come back.

Great little German restaurant right on the canal where you sit at tables under umbrellas with cute string lights while geese and boats pass by. How could you beat that? How about add in some delicious German food served in healthy portions that you can order of an English menu? There are not many outdoor tables on the canal but they inside has a lot more tables and a fun warm German tavern vibe. Well other than the strange choice of 1980s pop music movie soundtracks (Top Gun, Back to the Future, etc). Regardless the staff are helpful and speak excellent English (but this isn't like USA restaurant service, since you are in the Netherlands obviously, so you do need to call them over when you want something - ex. dessert or your check). This is sit down and order, but food delivery was pretty quick (20 minutes). Good selection of German beers and a house beer. Prices are fair. Most importantly the food was delicious - we both commented how every plate at every table returned spotless empty (and these were good sized servings). Great people watching of other canal restaurants, bike riders, and canal fun. Loved this little place and recommended.

I visited here on December 14th for dinner with my daughter and niece. They had cheese fondue and soft drinks, I had curry- & bratwurst with sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, and a beer. The service was swift and the food excellent, the staff is very friendly, the atmosphere was cheerful yet cosy and the location is excellent in one of Utrecht's traditional wharf-cellars. We had an excellent meal for a fair price.

Amazing pork knuckles!! Very tasty and crispy on the outside. Mashed potato and the sauce were also very delicious! I had the house wine and I recommend to try it!

I’ve been here a few times already and it has been great every time! The first few times we sat on the terrace and it was very nice, not too loud. This time I sat inside and the atmosphere was really great, with nice music! The food is really good and also nice portions. The beer selection is good. Will definitely return again!

Cozy German restaurant near the beautiful canals of Utrecht. The food is quite cheap, but the meals we had had great taste. A great place to eat at if you are in Utrecht and want something to eat. The atmosphere of this place is also quite cozy.

Great place to eat and have a fun time. We came with a group of 10, but we had a reservation for 7. No problem at all! They quickly accommodate and they helped us very well. Food is good and very fairly priced. I can imagine you could eat here every week and still enjoy it. Location is great, also inside.

Been here a couple of times and it's always been good. Would go back again, pretty much everything on their menu is really nice. Ask for their weekly specials which is usually nice. Some people who work there are really friendly, making you feel good about going back again.

Def a crowded place especially if you want to sit on the outdoor. I havent made any reservation so I just walked in and got seated inside. It is more of a dim light restaurant but very homey at that.

We ordered their schnitzel, beef goulash and 1/2 roasted chicken. All of the portions were super generous, tasty as well. Beef goulash was served with 4 giant slices of brown bread, schnitzel was served with roasted potatoes and the chicken with mashed potatoes. Even the salads are good.

Overall I had no complaints. All of the food were good & enjoyable, and the staff is nice & friendly. Def would come back to eat here again, one of the most affordable places to eat in Utrecht.

Best German food in Utrecht. The bratwurst is excellent. Combine that with the Dijon mustard, rondvlees, potatoes and sour kraut, and the gravy for a fantastic taste. I also loved combining the German dark break from the roast beef with the pepper cream cheese dip, Dijon mustard and the roast beef-- extraordinary.

If you like the juicy tender pork knuckle, then you’ve come to the right place!

Staff is incredibly friendly, beer although is a bit pricey, but it’s amazingly tasty.

Would definitely become my go to place in the future whenever I visit Utrecht.

When in Holland why not try some German food! Restaurant Kartoffel has the classic favourites and we opted for Schnitzel and Beef Goulasch…. Excellent!!! Located on the canal side it is the perfect place to drink, eat and watch the boats go by. Great service from a friendly waitress made the whole experience special!

My favourite place for apple strudel! They also have great hash browns and pretzels.

The food is great, and not pricey at all. The atmosphere was cozy, the music good and the staff was very helpful. The food appeared quickly enough to nog get impatient, but also not too fast to impose on the conversation.
The vegetarian options are somewhat limited, but not disturbingly so.

Lovely German restaurant at the oudegracht! We ordered the flammkuchen for appetizer, schnitzel, gulasch and fondue for mains and appelstrudel and chocolate cake for deserts. The best of all the mains were the Gulasch - it was very similar to a beef stew. Schnitzel and fondue were pretty average. I would recommend the appelstrudel and chocolate cake. They are both excellent. The service was good. Ambience is great. Overall with some nice beers it was a great German experience!

Food - good quality German food like it supposed to be but than closer to home in Utrecht!
Drinks - they have mass, meaning 1 liter glasses per person. Awesome!
Atmosphere - nice decoration feels like you are in Germany indeed, only the music can be more adapted to German style.
Service - good and quick service

A beautiful traditional German restaurant situated right in the heart of Oudegracht, on the bank of the canal with lovely views. The staff is really kind, the food is fantastic and the atmosphere is friendly and lively. The prices were fair enough too, compared to other places in Utrecht.
