Tioman Paya Cafe is a hidden local Chinese style restaurant, at the end of Kampung Paya, northen side. There is a bridge connecting to it. Food taste is not bad, taste is there with reasonable price. Might need to wait a while during peak hours as there is only one cook, they are friendly people, try to self service if possible. We tried the sweet and sour chicken, a bit spicy in taste but sauce and meat is good. We also tried the stir fry cabbage, fragrant dried shrimp taste, just lack of deeper wok hei. I saw many people order the pan mee, will try it next time.

1) Overall - Chinese restaurant, homey and chill environment, self service, offers real homecooked food like rice set, pan mee, fried rice, fried noodle and more from Tioman Paya Cafe
2) sweet and sour chicken cube with rice - flavourful, loved the use of chicken breast cube, aromatic, great pair with white rice
3) stir fry cabbage - got "wok hei" tasted good

Refreshing feel after all those msg & spicy food @the resort. I recommend trying their freshly knead noodle soup which is lightly season yet pleasant on the palette & their fried chicken wings are tastefully seasoned with prawn paste. But be prepared to wait as owner cooks the dishes 1 at a time.
