38PC Boutique Hotel

It was my 1st time here 4 years ago and I'm back again because I have been looking forward to this. Back then, the neighbourhood was quieter and less popular, now it's much more happening and the hotel is much more popular to the point I had to book separate rooms over the course of a week, just to stay here but at least I get to experience 2 different rooms in one visit. The rooms have the trappings of a modern hotel but with old world charms, a rooftop swimming pool, hot and cold water dispenser in the lobby and entrance/exits at both ends of the shoplot. Plenty of coffee shops, restaurants and bakeries within a 5-minute walking radius at most hours. With so many choices nearby for your 3 meals a day, they naturally don't serve breakfast, there is no gym and no laundry facilities (but for a fee, you can get an outside, full service laundry to pick up, wash, iron and delivered back to you, like I did) and there are only 2 on-street reserved parking lots for the 5 rooms in this hotel, on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no charge for other on-street parking on Saturdays and it's 80 sen an hour for all other days from 10am to 7pm on council lots. There are a lot of street murals all around the hotel and the Kedah river is never far away wherever you go in Alor Setar. I can't wait for my next stay in 38PC. It's like a home away from home.

Nice and Unique hotel room. I love the hotel but not the furniture around the hotel and inside the room. For us Muslim it's not appropriate. I cover it with a towel during my 2 nights stay. Alla staff are friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the pool by ourselves at the top of the hotel. Parking can be difficult but they have 2 lots reserved for hotel guests. Night can be a little noisy from nearby Pub/Bars but somehow we enjoyed the music from the live band.

Amazing location highly recommended to go to Diem Bakery it's just nearby. I also strongly apreciated the speaker, smart tv and bathtub.

We like the small bluetooth speaker and the TV which can do phone mirroring. And there is a small pool at the roof top! Some reviewers noted that the loud music from the nearby bar. I can confirm this in our stay, which was on the top floor. But it didn't bother us too much as it stopped around 11pm.

This is one of the best boutique hotels that we have ever stay in. The location is great. The must-try Diem Bakery is across the street. We love the walk-about in the hotel vicinity, which still retains the old-town charm. If we were to visit Alor Setar again, this will be the hotel we will pick.

Should be the best hotel in Alor Setar. Everything is very good for both leisure or work.

Very helpful and nice staffs. I left my stuff in the room after checking out, and I called them for helping looking for that, they even arranged a delivery immediately, I’m very grateful for this. Also the room and environment are both tidy and comfortable, recommended for staying here if you got a chance to visit Alor Setar.

Beautiful, clean, nice boutique hotel. Never expect such a unique boutique hotel in Alor Setar. Only 5 rooms in the hotel so you can feel very private stay there. Not crowded at all. Nice staff. Hope they can add intercom in the room & maybe free breakfast 🤣

By far the coolest boutique hotel in Malaysia, hands down! Such a well hidden gem in Pekan China, Alor Setar. One must be forgiven upon arrival if they think they've been hoodwinked by whichever booking platform they used, as the outer facade is bound to throw anyone off! Step in and the attention to detail and effort put in by the owners is immediately visible. Definitely an Instagramable hotel, to say the least! Room was comfy, shower was hot. With only 5 rooms, it's meant to be a unique experience for a small bunch of people. Oh, and the bak kut teh next door is heavenly!

Very clean. Parking is easy, in front of the hotel. Free snacks and drinks. Minus points are no door, only curtain for the bathroom and onle one table and limited chairs for breakfast. We accidentally left our camera during check-out and staff called us to inform us about it. Highly recommended

Enjoyed the stay here because of the superb cleanliness and what it offer at the price.
Located at Pekan Cina where it is busy during the day, and happening at night. Cafes, Pubs, Eateries within walking distance.

38PC certainly worth to pay a visit if you have yet to experience stays at boutique hotel.

Don't judge a book by it's cover! At first I was very sceptical about the hotel looking from the exterior. Then my mind was blown away the second I entered the lobby. In conclusion, this place is very Instagramable!

Awesome stay at this hotel during CNY 2019. Liza and Sue are genuinely helpful. My kids loving the video games, I love the pool.
Definitely will come back again!

The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. .comfy bed and love the aircond in the room.. I had a wonderful experience at the (38PC).

Free flow snacks and drinks! Beautiful rustic interiors. Great staff! - all at a very reasonable price. Will definitely be my first choice everytime i visit Alor Setar.

Highly recommended if you are in Alor Setar. Do not be fooled by the outer look of the building. You will be amazed by the ID and the comfort it brings you.
