TGV @ Central i-City

It's another great TGV outlet, this one is located on the top floor 4th level of Central i-City Mall. It's not very crowded as its in Shah Alam. It has many cineplex. It's still look quite new, well maintained. Please keep it up, as its critical. Inside looks clean too. The seats are really quite comfortable, the Deluxe hall is already very nice.

I watched movies with my friends few days ago (Khong Khaek: The Djinn's Curse). The customer service is good, Food is great. Great place to enjoy movie

TGV is definitely much better than GSC and MBO in terms of ambiance, food, seating and facilities. The chilly temperature in the lobby is a bonus for those chilly temp settings. The screen resolution is really eye-catching + the sound system. TGV offers a very comfortable waiting area. Nothing beats its great service. TGV is the best choice if you really want to have a good time enjoying your movies. Especially watching midnight movies at icity TGV, it can be reached by walking from isoho.

Seats are bigger than sunway pyramid and one Utama. My favorite TGV theater because they Offer Have hot beverage lattes and Americano.

The seats are comfy, sound system best, overall experience great even if you don't go for imax or onyx, like you get what I mean.

Family Friendly hall was very good. The family bed was huge. Can fit me, my wife and our two kids. 4 and 3 years old.

The next best option of cinema in Klang, Shah Alam area with great screens and seating. Every screen has reclining seats.

I came here to try out Onyx hall (the largest Onyx screen in the world) and IMAX, as many people felt that this is the best IMAX hall in Malaysia, and I saw why.

The common problem in both of those halls is the light. For me, it was a little dim and it'll be hard to find a seat once the movie starts. Since the hall interior is all black (including the seats), brighter lights will fix this problem. Other than that, this TGV outlet looks very clean, got Chatime nearby popcorn counter, the staffs were present and they were friendly as well. There's a dedicated waiting area, and it has wireless charging support for smartphones.

ONYX
+ Picture Quality: 10 / 10.
- Details were very sharp and crisp. Colour were so rich and vivid. When it's black, it's truly black. 4K resolution and together with HDR capability is just incomparable to any other hall screens. The Best. Screen size is (16ft high & 45ft wide).

+ Sound: 9.5 / 10.
- Dialogues were clear and it was pretty loud. Sound clarity and surround sound effects were on point. Bass was surprisingly great as well. I watched The Batman, whenever he punches or kicks, you can feel the blow.

+ Comfort: 9.25 / 10.
- The seat was so comfortable. Legroom was spacious enough. Only problem for me was the recliner. It makes the most annoying sound. The recliner creaks so much. Whenever I try to recline, it sounds like I'm farting behind, which obviously interrupts other people when watching a movie. Also, the wheel / knob to recline is pretty hard to find.

For RM25 (a little pricey and fixed price), you get to experience the best visual, great sound system and a comfy seat. A worthy one.

IMAX
+ Picture Quality: 8.5 / 10.
- The clarity is better than the standard cinema screens, but it's a little underwhelming when compared to MBO Big Screen and Onyx. TGV needs to upgrade their IMAX projectors to IMAX Laser, which has 4K resolution and better quality than current IMAX Xenon. Aside from that, the huge screen is such a treat to look at. Didn't find any dirt on screen, which is I really appreciate. The screen is brighter. Viewing angle is superb. It's slightly taller than 1U & Sunway Pyramid. Probably the second biggest IMAX screen Malaysia, only right after Sunway Velocity, which has the ridiculous seat arrangement for an IMAX hall.

+ Sound: 10 / 10.
- Man, this is where IMAX stands out. The crazy loud and rumbling bass will make your day better. I watched The Batman. That movie wasn't shot on IMAX but damn, the sound department team did an outstanding job. The Batmobile engine was screaming through the speakers. Felt like I was in the car. You don't need moving chairs or extra gimmicks to get immersed in a movie. This is why IMAX is still the best way to experience a movie. It's freaking great. IMO, it's the best when it's comes to sound.

+Comfort: 9.25 / 10.
- It was very comfortable. The seat reclines a bit. Similar to Mid Valley's Onyx hall seat. Legroom was so spacious. I was able to stretch my legs without interrupting the person in front of me. My seat was in the K row. I think the legroom must be good for other rows as well. For me, this is the best IMAX hall I've been to when compared to 1U, Sunway Pyramid, Velocity & etc.

Prices are RM35 (fixed price) & RM40 for IMAX 3D , which is quite expensive (before pandemic, it was less than RM30, and even cheaper on Wednesdays 🥺), but for that price, you'll get to watch a movie on an enormous screen in a great hall with comfy seats and amazing speakers to experience the film. There's a Maybank promotion exclusive to this hall (RM 5 off), if you pay with your Maybank card on weekends (Fri, Sat & Sun).

Verdict :
- If visual or screen quality is your priority, then go for Onyx. If sound is your thing, and size does matter means, IMAX is the way to go. If you're broke like me means Deluxe hall (Standard hall) is the choice ; they have good seats as well as screen and sound. It does its job as it should.

The ultimate experience for Cinema, clear visual, great sound system.

One of the biggest and most modern TGV in Klang Valley. The facilities are definitely one of the best, with large clear screen and comfortable seats. Equipped with the latest Onyx display by Samsung, it is down right a splendid experience! The premises are well designed with ample waiting lounge, complete with wireless charging docks. If you wanna step up your movie-watching experience, and happened to live nearby, this is definitely the best place to go to.

This is one of the best TGV cinema around Klang-Shah Alam area. The overall experience were great. And it is one of the few IMAX and Onyx included hall in the Klang Area.

Pretty kewl place to watch movies! Went to watch during a quiet time, so is nice. A kind staff was there to help me figure out how to use the auto system.

It's wonderful watching movies over. Marvelous sound systems and cleanliness are my priorities.....

Been here few times. Loves the seat! They are slightly bigger and can recline a bit. They hall is bigger. Plently seats outside. So if you can early can just hang around. Other than the normal cinema concession, they have chatime counter. Not sure if you can bring the drinks inside tho'.
They have plently of samsung wireless charger around. Pretty convinient.
The only thing is, the cinema is on the top floor and the mall only have basement parking. So coming to watch midnight movie is a bit hassle. Tho' they provide sufficient lights and the escalators work. Which is good.

Went there for a movie with family. Chooses family friend cinema and it was awesome and comfortable. It’s 5 of us and it’s comfortable enough for us on the lounge chair aka bed sofa I would say. Overall made our family day went well. Thank you so much.

I felt pleasant and satisfaction in regards with this samsung onyx high quality crystal clear LED screen, together with true surround sound system, and business class comfort seats, giving me with enjoyable and memorable experience to watch movie here.

One of the latest cinema in Klang Valley. Fantastic interior design. Spacious. Have the latest Samsung Onyx Cinema LED Technology display, must watch to appreciate the future of cinema? Recommended.

I am going to review here solely on TGV and not the movie ya.

Food was great, service was great, but there is one note to those who plan to get IMAX tickets here at this branch.

DO NOT buy tickets at row K, I repeat, DO NOT but tickets at row K. 🤣 Because that row links to the entrance/exit, you will have tons of people walking infront of you, disrupting your view.

Oh, you will be asked to collect the 3D glasses Infront of the hall and you can take them home.
