Kedai Kopi Lor San

Their signature Duck Mee Sua serve with herbal soup. We visit during weekend, arrived 8.30am and I get the last piece of duck drumstick. We ordered pork ribs mee sua, the taste of soup base is slightly different with duck mee sua, but it also very nice. Duck drumstick sold out very fast, or you can choose duck meat, pork ribs or chicken. Highly recommended for this Duck Mee Sua, very delicious.

The early bird catches the worm, they say, and you’ve got to be early to catch this restaurant serving its signature dish — duck soup noodles. Starting at 7am and serving till about 1.30pm, Kedai Kopi Lor San serves herbal duck soup noodle — a flavorful infusion of lightly flavoured herbs steamed with duck pieces. The meat is tender and falls off the bone. You can choose duck drumstick but it is sold out very quickly. Alternatively duck meat is available and also pork ribs or chicken done in the same style. Duck soup noodles are sold only in the early part of the morning (till maybe about 10am). The shop also serves a wanton noodle with minced pork as well as Yong Tau Foo. Highly recommended for the duck soup noodles.

The place where locals go to eat. Mee sua is smooth and delicious, soup is flavourful with strong ginger taste. Affordable price. Recommended to go early as they are sold out at around 9am.

Good duck drumstick mee sua. Everything is on point. Mee sua was cooked really well, noodles doesn't stick and doesn't have that powdery mouth feel. Duck meat was falling off the bone. Broth was flavourful & absolutely love the ginger slices. Horkasai is the drink to go, has good balance of milo & coffee. Cham ais here not so good. Come early as they only serve breakfast til 9am.

Have been eating this since I was still a kid. A must-eat whenever I go back to Alor Setar. They have different morning and afternoon menu. Reasonable price with good local food. Definitely worth to try.

Good herbal duck mee sua. Soup is very nice.

Delicious Mee sua. Option to choose duck ,chicken or spareribs, very flavourful noodle soup.
Had cham ie coffee mixed with tea. Thick strong aroma 😋.

Lovely kopitiam in a corner lot. Only tried their duck noodles, which was delicious.The soup was light and reminiscent of home cooked food. There're a few nicely drawn murals outside the shop too, so quite a photogenic location too.

Came here in the morning for herbal pork ribs noodles. Very good and hearty. Keeps me going for the rest of my day. They do have chicken and duck version. Tried them too and they're tasty too. Drinks here are okay.

Should drop by here if you're in alor setar. Recommended.

- opens early selling their signature herbal ginger soup (vermicelli, yellow noodles options)
- broth is dark color with rich savoury meaty flavour (duck, chicken, pork spare ribs)
- taste of broth is gingerly hint with spices and warming esp on rainy day.
- put a dash of their chopped chilli to give a kick to your meal
- parking is available behind the shop, Saturday parking is free
- after their herbal soup sells out, they will sell yong tau fu with minced pork noodles

In a small town, food is different. You can taste the personal touch, just like in this shop.
The noodles are a gastronomic adventure, from the bite texture down to the quality of the condiments. The decor of the shop testifies to the amount of attention paid to keeping customers satisfied too.
The wantan noodles are delightfully springy, not soggy at all like some of the other wantan noodle shops I have been too.
I suspect a measure of history to the shop because of the framed business licence displayed that dates back to before Independence.
But my favourite part is the large mural on the side wall outside the shop of Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al Haj, Malaysia's first prime minister. It lends a certain aura to the shop...a sense of nationality.
But remember to be early! 7am, if possible. By noon, it starts to be sold out

Very delicious mee in town..must have a try if came to Alor Setar town.We order for both dry and mee in soup, but we prefer dry mee with crispy pork fat, the taste very delicous.The shop very clean as well.Will visit again next time.

we arrived before 10am on a weekday, they are still serving duck noodles, there's choice of pork rib or chicken too. food is good. Just that it is not for my children(10 and 13yo), they do not appreciate it.
this restaurant is very clean, thumbs up and keep it up!
if you would like to try their yong tau foo, come after 11am.

Very friendly lady boss, very patiently introduce their food. Love the food, nice soup. And this place is very clean.

Very savoury and thick soup, tender duck meat, nice ambience, parking at behind the building as the kopitiam is beside a main road

Nice ambiance, and interior deco is of retro style.
Went there at 7am, and it's opened already with 3 customers in the shop.
The herbal duck/chicken/pork rib are steamed in a big steamer to ensure the herbal soup is always hot, and the essence from the meat will always go back to the soup to increase its flavour.
Soup is thick but smooth, very gingery. Meat is so tender and juicy, easily coming off the bone. Very nice.

A small portion comes with two medium size duck meat, and I have to say... It's really filling. And it only costs rm7 per bowl. Worth it.
There's Yong tau fu in the afternoon, serving dry version of noodles.

Herbal duck noodles soup...unique traditional stall now operate by 3rd generation. Good quality.. unbeatable taste.

With a low expectation since we from Penang which famous of duck drumstick herbal noodle, this restaurant turn to a really WOW. So nicely done and different from Penang version. Adequate aroma and taste of herbal and of course with the nicely done mee sua, so yummy and appetizing. Comparing to Penang, mee sua here was more presentation and not easily broken.

Both duck meat and pork rib were so delicious, juicy and soft. 5 stars
