Caffe Diem

We had afternoon tea here and enjoyed the decor and food. Housed in a heritage building, this place has a vibe which is very pleasant. Staff were also helpful. The coffee was good and strong while sandwiches were tasty too. Do look up at the ceiling and you will see old row boats. The upstairs is also nicely decorated. We enjoyed our meal here.

Really nice cafe with its heritage maintained in its architecture. They have different rooms which gives off different vibes inside. We only have cake and drinks but their menu was very interesting as well. The lemon tart was really nice. Lovely vibe for relaxing and chatting.

We tried few times our favourite drink - black on black. Memang terbaek. We also tried 2 other signature drinks which are coconut cream latte and pengat sengat. Both are very refreshing. Tak manis sangat. Sesuai utk coffee addict. Sangat sangat recommended.

Great place for food and drink at old town Alor Setar. Food taste great more than expectations 👍🏻 Drink also great 👍🏻 and special signature drink at there. Good and friendly staff there 👍🏻 environment and decorations there very old styles. Must visit there and exploring surrounding old town Alor Setar 👍🏻😊

I always wanted to try out this place and heard many good things about it. Now I can tell you it's good. Ambience is so Insta friendly and an awesome place for hanging out or get together sessions. It's got that mixed yesteryear vibe fusioned with modern finishings. How's the coffee? It's aromatic and full bodied. Quality coffee that reminds you it's worth the price. I tried the Gula Melaka Shakeretto and to me it's basically cold brew with gula melaka. Overall taste is on the bitter side. Honestly the gula melaka is faint and not sweet. Yet I enjoyed it. Nice! Next is the Iced Irish Cream Latte, refreshing and smooth. Finally the cake is a first for me, Burnt Sweet Potato Cheese Cake. It sounds weird but is actually nice. A bit sweet with lots of sweet potato bits. Recommended place if you like good coffee if you are in Alor Setar and exploring the Chinatown area.

The best place to hang out in Alor Setar. They set the bar for all the cafes in town. I can surely say that they are also one of the main reasons for the revival of Pekan Cina.

Went with my wife and SIL looking for drink in hot weather and stumbled upon this place. Dr M came here before. Pretty insta place for pics. Open windows on roof , let plenty of light in. Heritage sight!

A cozy café nestled in Pekan Cina, in the heart of Alor Setar. Offers respite in the scorching afternoon weather. Coffee and wrap were delicious!

Frankly pleasantly surprised to discover this trendy and nice cafe in Alor Setar. Had their grilled cheese sandwich which was crunchy and cheesy with a tinge of pesto sauce. Paired with their popular Coconut Cream Latte. Nice and reasonably priced. Recommended place.

A very nice cafe and unique menus. U should try Slumber Cucumber, its very refreshing.

Really love of how they are trying to preserve the history and identity of the place while still keeping it relevant to the modern environment and economy.
The foods and drinks here are quite good. The cheese fries is a must try. The grilled chicken salad was quite exceptional.
The interior is well done with the pictures and decorations on the wall and the ceiling. Good ambience. The staffs were really friendly.
The parking in the area (Pekan Cina) is very hard to get and not to mention the terrible congestion, so suggestion is to book grab/taxi, trust me.

The architecture of the building is so amazing , with 2 ‘sampans’ hanging high. Vintage buildings with wooden tables and chairs . Food was nice and aesthetic pleasing. Only have the chance to try out their cakes , will revisit next time for their main dishes .

Cafe is nice, spacious. They do offer affordable cakes and meals.

I had ordered Latte. Using dark roasted beans, the foam is nice and thick. I really like it. Kudos to their lemon cheese tart!

Everything was a hit about this place. Service was good. The food was great. My go-to choice is Kay Pow Chi, a very filling snack for one person. Coffee here was all good, suitable for many beginners, I can guarantee that. the best part was the ambience. The essence of the historical interior design gives the best touch to it. The informative deco was also a great addition. Hygiene was great.

Those being said, the parking spots were everyone's struggle; everytime. So, sabar lah ya.

‘Cafe Diem’ is from Latin ‘Carpe Diem’ meaning ‘pluck the day’ or ‘seize the day’, free translation ‘Enjoy yourself while you have the chance’. As I was told by the staff today! All the while I thought it was direct pronounced from ‘咖啡店‘ 😆, until I’ve asked how to pronounce ‘Diem’ correctly.

It’s one of the top cafe in town that served good coffee and cakes(haven’t really got the chance to try their main meals yet).

Fast and attentive service but parking is a hassle! Therefore, many have been double parked or sometimes triple parked in front the shop.

Previous review: Great ambiance with rustic deco. It attract a trendy crowd. Some specialty foods that combine western with local taste. Great place to hangout with live music.

Definitely a must visit cafe when you are in Alor Setar. An old building that rich with its history and heritage but also with a twist of modern food option and drinks. Recommended to try their poppy seed lemon butter cake. Ample of seats and really laid-back place to chill with family or friends. There are another level upstairs that can be explore and more secluded seats available.

Cake is nice and coffee taste is average. Heritage building (Nice environment) to visit and hang around with friends or family.

Very nice environment, not too crowded, also good workspace for laptops. I spent a whole day working there. Wi-Fi might not be the best but it’s working fine for me. Also a fun building packed with historical stories and facts

A must go cafe in this city. Food is good, portion are big. Great place to chill 👍🏼
