Perak Museum

Visit the museum on Friday weekday before noon. Not packed as there are also other visitors.
Entry fee was RM2 for adult. There was WW2 era exhibition during our visit.
Museum has plenty of things to see and learn. There are section about WW2, animals, and Perak culture and history.
Tour for whole place took about 1 hour as we take our time to view each sections and read all the interesting exhibition.
The gift shop also has plenty of options from magnet, mugs, t-shirt and bag. We bought fridge magnet at bag as souvenir.
Nice museum to visit while you in Taiping. And good thing is parking space are plenty, and you can also walk 5 minutes to see the Taiping prison gate and visit thier prison small museum.

In this museum, the ticket price is very cheap. My family and I paid RM8 only (each person RM2). I like the museum's environment. You can take pictures there, but video is not allowed.

If you go to Taiping, then don't forget to visit the Perak Museum.

A place to go once in a lifetime. A great place to learn about our history and heritage. Just RM 2 per entry for adult and the knowladge you get was priceless.

My last visit here was more than a decade ago so it was refreshing to see the museum still held up well. My only suggestion is for the museum to consider putting in English description for the temporary/special exhibit items as well - it was only in Bahasa when I brought my non-Malaysian friend there for the WW2 exhibition recently. Keep it up and kudos to the Muzium Perak team.

A must visit if you’re bringing school going kids in tow. The museum charges just RM2 for adults and free for kids.

When I went there yesterday, the place was awesome! The interior spaces are air conditioned hence its a relief from the heat.

The artefacts being displayed was well maintained and shows how Malaysia was during the war time. Animal display was also very good as it looks life like.

Overall, it’s a well worthy place to visit if you’re in Taiping.

This museum is the first and the oldest museum in Malaysia. Their range of collections is quite interesting from native relic to World War II Japanese collection. Make sure to check the upper floor. The staff are very friendly and professional too. The infrastructure provided is surau and toilets. For your information, the hygiene of the toilet is top notch, kudos to their cleaner to keep them clean. They also have souvenirs shops inside the museum for remembrance. The ticket for adults is RM2.00 while kids are free. They accept cash only for tickets however for souvenirs you can scan the QR code provided. How about you visit this historical place and taste the experience yourself ;)

Enjoyed my visit here with my family. Lots of exhibits here, especially dry preservation of animals. Though it's just a small museum( if you compare with museums in general), it boasts quite a number of exhibits. It's the oldest museum in Malaysia.(look at the picture attached) There is interactive app via Google play store for more information. Entrance is just RM4 for 2 adults and 2 children. Love the museum architecture. We enjoyed our visit here especially my children. It was very informative visit for us too.

Enjoyed the museum's featured exhibit about taxidermy in Malaysia, but the bird specimens looked rather drab and sad for some reason. Overall a wonderful museum about local cultures and natural sciences: discovered a mammal I never knew about called Colugo, and about Catur Melayu, and the very cool Puteri Perak outfit! Also had fun discovering the Bahasa names for various fauna (such as the Yu Bodoh). Only arachnids and insects missing!

The museum is opposite the prison, you can visit the Taiping Prison Gallery nearby.

Accidentally stumble upon the museum and oh boy it do impressed me with the amount of item that is exhibit in here! And the entrance fee is only RM 2, You can just walk in!

I love this museum. Very interesting collection of Malaysian culture and tributes..art, music, film, animal artifacts, a look at its diverse people and traditions. You will want to take your time to soak it all in. There is a lot to see. Highly recommend it.

Very impressive taxidermy collections. Came with 0 expectations but the collections and quality blew our minds away! Highly recommended for a short 1 hour tour if you are around here with free time. Entrance fee is ultra affordable.

The first museum in Malaysia. The English victorian style building is iconic. One of the best things are the animal models and their specimens. The ticket is also very cheap, which is only RM2 for Malaysians.

I had visited this oldest museum in Malaysia many times and really intrigued with this natural museum section. Imagine how many wildlife were killed inorder to preserve for future generations. Hope future generations would appreciate these exhibits.

Nice place to visit and spend with your family. Have indoor and outdoor exhibition. Lots of things to see especially the animals part and antic car which attractive. One hour to two will do and the ticket is very cheap.

Very well maintained museum. RM 2 admission fee to get inside but there are also vehicles outside so be sure to not miss them. Plenty of items on display with detailed descriptions and information on them.

Its quite big too. Got 2 level. Worth the visit.

For a really cheap ticket you get to see various types of exhibits from animal skeletons and taxidermies to traditional costumes and especially the rich local culture displays upstairs that include tribal masks and clay potteries famous in the region. The museum building itself is a beautiful piece of colonial architecture.
