No fee to enter. Wonderful place to go, only 25 minutes or so walking from the beach. Consider yourself warned that the water isn't warm. It's not ice cold, but it's cooler than expected. That said, it's comfortable enough to wade in and after a few minutes you'll probably ok with swimming. It never gets very deep and there are steps to get in and out though you can drop in anywhere. You can't dive in since it's shallow. There's also a drink stand right by the falls if you're thirsty. Definitely worth the walk!

We rode a chauffeured ATV that wound through the narrow streets of Yelapa to reach the Yelapa Falls. I swam up to the falls. It was a beautiful lush place! I can highly recommend this tour!

A beautiful waterfall up in the hills of Yelapa. The walk up isn't that bad, it is all cobblestone with a mix of concrete and it is kinda steep in place but is only about a 10-minute hike. Coming down is another story. Be careful coming down, it is slippery in places and this is where you will take tumbles and potentially break bones. Hiking poles will help if you have them. You can swim under the falls, the water is fresh and cold! Bar at the top, musicians playing for tips, and lots of vendors on the way up.

Came to Yelapa Waterfall during a day trip from Puerto Vallarta. Had high hopes for the beach when I arrived in Yelapa but the sand was too rough and waves were really strong, so I decided to walk through the town to get to the waterfalls.

The waterfalls is definitely worth the 30 minute hike, it was nice and shady because of all the trees, and the water was cool and refreshing. I ended up staying at the falls for over an hour. The water at the falls goes from shallow to deep, so you can kind of gauge where to stand if you can’t swim.

They sell alcohol by the falls and there's a washroom as well, I think it's like 10 pesos or something to use the restroom.

This place is definitely a hidden gem in the town. There were a good mix of both tourists and locals here.

Our ATV driver was awesome! He took us to the waterfall and kindly waited for us until we were done. On our way to the waterfall, there's a community of people that would sell their beautiful items on the side. The water was cold but we were able to take a beautiful photo with the waterfall behind us. What an unforgettable trip and memories to cherish!

Fantastic food. Traditional methods, friendly staff. Would definitely eat here again!

The bottom of the waterfall is ok, but if you can make it to the top, which is strenuous hike, the top is amazing, very few people go up there, and for a good reason, the hike is very difficult.

It was dry but it was still worth going up there. Was maybe a 20 min hike. I would definitely do it again. Our guide was really cool and they also had a lot of locals to buy drinks and hand made things from on the way up and down.

Great day trip to Yelapa and to the waterfalls. You can get there by hiking, horseback, or ATV. We chose the hour long hike up and down going up to the mountain. Simply cross the river by foot, take the trail to the right up the mountain and into the town, and follow the path all the way up to the waterfall. Great day to enjoy an easy hike, a waterfall, and some burritos on the way back.

Plenty of places in town to get some food or a drink along the way. And lots of debris if you are into buying local goods.

Its a little hike up to the falls through the beautiful streeps of Yelapa. You can also pay someone to give you a ride on an ATV to the falls. There you can find drinks and bathrooms and, if you wish, swim in the falls! It is beautiful and worth the trip.

We have been to Yelapa before but not to the waterfall. The hike is a lot of up and down hills but well worth the hike. The water was running pretty good over the waterfall and the mist coming off of it was refreshing because it was hot outside that day. There is a small bar near the waterfall which was nice to grab a cerveza before the trek back down to the beach for our trip back to PV.

One of the must see sites in puerto vallarta. There's a bit of a hike to get to the falls, so I suggest wear good shoes. Preferably water socks/shoes that have good grip as the roads leading to the falls are basic stone-cobbled streets. And also, bring money. Smaller Mexican peso bills are preferred as there are plenty of souvenir stalls lining up the road while hiking to the falls. Prices are within reason and they are open for bargaining. Supporting these vendors is just one of the things we can do to support the small island community of yelapa.

A remote village accessible by boat only welcomes you. A laid back vibe to truly be off the grid. Walk to the waterfall takes you through a river, up hills and through a town.full of culture. You can ride a four wheeler or ride a donkey to the site, but the walk is much more enjoyable. The waterfall is beautiful, but not grand. It is the entire Yelapa experience that makes this trip a five star. We fished along the way and the restaurant made the fish for our meal. Most unique Christmas dinner I’ve ever had!

Took a round trip water taxi from Boca de Tomatlan for $6. (We used Uber to get there and purchased round trip, Brenda, our driver was waiting for us when we got back) There are only 4 water taxis back to Boca. 3:30 and then hourly until 6:30) There are vendors all the way to the waterfall (a short walk). Great prices and unique items. Took the advice from my Botanical Garden guide to experience this adventure. Smart move. Take the water taxi to the second Yelapa dock. Then get the ATV back to the beach and restaurants to get a good spot. That’s a review in itself. This is a must go when in puerto Vallarta.

We took an ATV tour up to the waterfall. The cost was $20 USD. Very colorful and pleasant ride through Yelapa! The waterfall itself was barely running due to the drought, but was still beautiful. There is a small bar right next to the waterfall serving delicious drinks. I recommend the coco loco! We then hiked up to the top of the waterfall. I wouldn't recommend if you have mobility issues as it is steep and slippery in places. It's not an easy climb. Once at the top, there is a beautiful lagoon you can swim in. Fantastic tour!

Such a special experience. The hike to waterfall was super easy and once you arrived the water was chilly but welcoming. It was almost an overload of natural beauty. There was some food and drink available there, as well as vendors along the way. I really enjoyed sitting under the waterfall. Treat yourself to this experience. I believe they also have do key and ATV options.

Loved the relaxing , calm waves and tranquillo staff at Rogelio's bar and beach chairs. We rode ATV through Yelapa town to foot of waterfall. Was fascinating trip seeing yelapa town, although we didn't stop until we reached the falls, where we took photos posing under falls. Later we had fresh lemonade and coconuts while observing the falls. Foid and alcohol was available, but we'd already partaken on beach. Can't judge food quality at falls, but it was decent on beach.
