We LOVED this place especially given that it is in the unbeaten path in an island with no access to food but still some amazing seafood. The ceviche acapulcena was to die for (probably one of the best I have ever had) and our mains were pretty big and delicious plates too. The owner was very warm and welcoming and the restaurant has a cool view of the lagoon

Definitely worth the trip out of main drag Yelapa. Beautiful family restaurant with some of the best ceviche and aguachile we’ve had. Ever. Huge servings. Do yourself the favor and have a meal there on the way to the waterfall. Then stop back there for lunch or dinner on the way back. Or really, just go there anyway. Delicious, friendly and soooo good!

We saw this place from across the river on our hike to the waterfall and thought we'd stop on our way back to the boat. We were definitely not disappointed! My husband and I have a special diet, and the owner and his staff were great to accommodate us. We also had a very pleasant conversation with him and his lovely wife. They made us feel welcome in Yelapa. Oh, and the food was to die for! I highly recommend the shrimp ceviche, and the guacamole was the best I've ever had! Everything was prepared carefully by hand. Lovely place, delicious food!

Really nice restaurant. A little ways from the beach but worth the walk. We ate here multiple times during our stay in Yelapa. One night we had fresh caught fish which was delicious and on Sunday we had the birria quesadillas. They were awesome.

Wonderful hidden gem a beautiful, short walk away from the beach. Owner Luis is so kind and the food is great. Best margaritas! We had a tasty breakfast with fresh squeezed orange juice awhile Luis was grilling while chickens for the community. Says he does it every Wednesday!

Clean place with delicious breakfast. Very good flavor. Service was very good. Good price, we paid $420 for 3 adults. Only cash. You need to walk a little bit but it worth it!

Great location along the river, great food, and amazing service. Luis made us feel right at home. He makes some of the best margaritas I have had (try one with the local moonshine, Racilla). Highly recommended.

The most delicious tortilla soup. The friendliest owners, chef and dogs. Everything’s homemade and fresh. Perfect stop to make after your hike to the big waterfall for an ice old cerveza or lunch.

This place was, I think, completely destroyed from the recent horribly devastating flood- but has been rebuilt. We came here one night as first time visitors to Yelapa- Abuelo’s was packed, so we hired an ATV taxi -another new (and awesome) experience for us. Once there i enjoyed the special: a nut-encrusted filet (maybe pecans, perhaps snapper- my spanish is terrible) which was really perfect. Got a little crunk on a Raicilla marg, but the owner contacted the ATV taxi for a ride back. We returned twice during our short stay. Would highly recommend the passion fruit margarita(!!!)- also, they’ve got fresh juices, breakfast, lunch. It is an easy walk from the beach side and a bit farther from the puebla. Near the temporary foot bridge. You should go here!!!

Favorite restaurant stop during our stay in Yelapa. Wonderful service, delicious food (we got the shrimp quesadilla and shrimp fajitas) and big portions. Also the micheladas are 10/10. It’s an adventure to get here which makes the experience even better. Perfect lunch stop on the way back from the waterfall hike.

Great local place for breakfast. Our waiter was awesome he shared some local knowledge with us.
Every visit to Yelapa requires at least one meal here.

Only had breakfast here, but it was lovely. Juice is fresh and a nice view of the river.

Edit: We returned for another meal a year later - chilaquiles with chicken and a side hash brown. Outstanding home cooked meal. It’s worth the walk. Cash only.

We had the most wonderful Thanksgiving dinner tonight at El Manguitos. Complete with turkey and dressing, mashed potatoes and homemade gravy, fresh green salad, sweet potatoes, fresh steamed vegetables and pumpkin pie!!❤ Luis and his staff are so attentive and wonderful. If we had to be away from home for Thanksgiving, I'm glad we were at Luis and Angelicas', they made us feel right at home❤
