Google Maps shows that it is closed, but reservations can still be made on the website. I was a little worried that I would find that the hotel was not open when I arrived. Fortunately, the hotel was open and everything was normal. The hotel's environment is very ecological, with many birds and peacocks. The swimming pool is also very nice. It's a relaxing place.

Do NOT go to Chichén Itzá and not stay at the Mayaland Hotel. Worth every dime. Staff is 10 Star. Rooms are 10 Star. Restaurant 10 Star. Grounds and ruins, priceless in rating! Very Art Deco and secluded. The ruins across the way add a unique “aire of mystique”.
Make purchases there in town (Pisté) to help support the locals - which are wonderful by the way.
Would make a great honeymoon hotel. Beautiful. Hotel is a favorite of a lot of VIP’s as well. We prefer to stay there and COMMUTE to the beach!

Got offered this package while following the Chichén Itzá GPS. They charged me $60 per person for a ride to the front of the entrance of Chichén Itzá. And access to this facility.

Access: the pool was nice. Shaded half the pool with a tree. Little bit of trash. No people at all the time we went

Food: was great! Cochinita pibil and chicken fajitas were on point and fresh. Authentic food.

We had a wonderful room with the large hot tub that looked out with a balcony over the jungle that was next to the Mayan ruins. The entire site is beautiful, built in a villa style from the 1920's. Besides the hotel rooms, there are bungalow rooms that look beautiful as well but those were closed as we were there during the quiet season. It is literally on the doorstep to the Chichen Itza ruins and you can see the tops of the ruins from the hotel. It seems like you could walk to the ruins if you wanted to from the hotel but we chose to drive to the main entrance. Would be nice if you could walk into the ruins at sunrise before they opened to the general public.

There is also a great restaurant on site that served a great dinner and breakfast. Nice pool as well, although as others have mentioned there are a few things that look a little run down or dated and it could probably use a bit of maintenance on some elements.

I got a day pass to park and go to Chichen Itza.
It totally works the price. They will drive you to the front and take you all the way to the gate to access Chichén Itzá.
The day pass includes a delicious meal, and they have great service.
I was very impressed, and I do totally recommend getting easy access to the Mayan pyramids.
They also helped me to book a tour guide, and who was very knowledgeable and helpful, responding all my questions. I have the best lime soup at their restaurant and I did try it in other famous Merida restaurants and the flavor was not close to the Mayanland place.

We received a package deal to see the Mayan ruins and have a lunch included. Honestly, I had low expectations. However, the Mayaland Hotel restaurant and staff blew the four of us men (my father, and two sons) completely out of the water. The ambiance was first class. Every bite of food exploded with flavor! It was a true 4 course meal. Even our 5 star resort didn’t make food that tasted as good. Don’t miss the opportunity to eat here. I can’t imagine not staying on a ocean front resort, but if I did, this is the place! Simply a gem!

Came here as part of lunch package for Chichén Itzá and was in awe of this property. Really excellent looking hotel and food was fantastic. Service was good as waiter took great care of us. If staying in area, best to book here.

This place is so beautiful! It is full of history and the views are amazing. The staff was so generous and kind, the Yucatan dishes were delicious, and the place was super cozy. I definitely would recommend staying here! You can see chichen itza from your balcony!! If you want a more relaxed place to stay this place is paradise!

I was here for lunch. I purchased a ticket for Chichen Itza and lunch was included with my purchase. I chose to have a mixture of the plates they offered. It was so good. It was a 3 course meal. The sofa de lima was so good. I had a coconut type jello, I could have gone without. Just not what I liked, not that it tasted bad. While I waited for my ride back to my car, I walked around the area and just thought the place was very beautiful and well taken care of. Would like to come back as a guest.

We stayed at Mayaland for one night and we had a wonderful experience! The hotel is beautiful and historic, the grounds were extremely lush and pretty, and the room was clean, spacious and looked recently remodeled. We got the room with the observatory view and it was quite the sight! The room also came with a jacuzzi tub that also had wonderful views of the observatory.

We ate at the main restaurant, the Mural for dinner and breakfast and everything was delicious. Yes, the prices are a bit steep but you can make it work on a budget. For dinner I got the vegetarian tacos and my wife got the chicken soup and both were great and cheap options.

Check out the spa too! We both got the standard hour long relaxing massage and it was only $55 a person (990 pesos)! They were well worth the money.

And of course the location can’t be beat. It is literally steps from Chichen Itza and the private entrance is extremely convenient.

I would like to add that ALL the staff - from the front desk to the waiters to the cleaning staff to the masseuses were friendly and professional.

We stopped here for an amazing dinner after a guided tour of chitzen itza. The service, the atmosphere, the food, everything was amazing. I hope to go back someday and stay a few nights. Absolutely wonderful.

Staying here added to the experience of Chichen Itza! Right from arrival to checkout all of the staff were phenomenal. We ate the tipico Yucatan dishes in the restaurant for lunch both days. Bring your appetite they are large and delicious portions for these. The authentic flavours, sitting overlooking the peaceful pool and even some Mayan language lessons from our server were the icing on the cake.

We had a room that directly overlooked El Caracol (The Mayan Observatory) which is aligned with Venus and on this unbelievably clear night we could see Venus and Saturn just like the Mayans from our room. We were lucky to have the comet Leonard passing over on the same night. We wandered the grounds at sunset and before sunrise but the jungle was just a little to thick to see it. Stargazing on this property after watching the video in the Planetario (for a small extra fee) gave us goosebumps and was very romantic.

Premium access to Chichen Itza is currently closed due to COVID but the hotel offered a bus service to the public entrance to the archeological site. We arrived right when it opens at 8AM to only a small lineup. Mexican nationals are free to enter the site on Sundays ($237 MXN otherwise) and International travellers $533 MXN. The bus picked us up at our requested time without fail and smiles hidden by masks were felt by all.

This resort is private and with just a handful of guests was quiet and enjoyable. It’s a hidden treasure for a couples getaway. Thanks again to all the staff for a memorable trip to Chichen.

Our room was spacious and had an amazing view. Breakfast was delicious, but don't eat at the lunch buffet > that is more for the people who come to the hotel with touring cars.
Staff is really helpful and nice.
Entrance to the park is super close by. If you have time: try one of their margaritas: they are to die for!

Absolutely loved our stay here. We only had one night but wish we could have had more time to experience this place and explore the grounds more. Our room had a beautiful view of the observatory that is lit up at night time for a nice sit in the bath and watch.
It is actually on the same property as Chitchen it’s and has a private entrance. (Hadn’t reopened yet while we were there)
The staff are all amazing and so helpful and welcoming. The grounds here are beautiful and great wildlife.
We booked our chichen itza tour through the resort. Although we usually prefer to go at our own pace not with guides it was 100% worth going with the guide. Our guide was Jaime if you have the chance to book a tour through here we highly recommend requesting him.

What an interesting place, you feel like you are on a game reserve in Africa. The staff were very friendly and kind. Please visit and stay here, they have done so much to create a wonderful resort and they are really hurting for visitors. Many activities and tours and just a gem of a place. The construction of the lodge is impressive, many massive beams. Go for a view room, you will be blown away.

I really love this hotel, especially the grounds, location, and exceptionally hospitable staff. I've stayed here each visit to the Yucatan interior and this place is always a charmer. Great ambiance. The staff was extremely helpful navigating our trip around closures due to hurricane Grace, recommending some exceptional sites off the beaten path like Yaxunah, and the even helped us coordinate with a local doctor for COVID PCR tests. Loved our room this time as well, having been upgraded to an Observatory facing suite. Very nice. They also have a great restaurant and a bar with exceptional local tequila. Order the Mayan items on the menu, and the lime soup, I promise they won't disappoint. Next time you're considering a trip to Chichen Itza, skip the bus tour and instead consider an overnight trip to this historical and beautiful hotel.

Really nice hotel with private entrance to Chichén-Itzá. We arranged a 5am sunrise tour for 1500 pesos per person, initially we had the whole site to ourselves and got great access to the ruins before the crowds or heat of the day arrived. Unless you are on a tight budget would recommend to stay here and take a similar tour.

Very intimate and welcoming resort. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. They have a free shuttle to take you to chichen itza since the private entrance is closed dude to Covid and controlling how many people enter the resort. Restaurant on site is amazing and Valerio makes the best pina coladas. I will refer everyone i know coming to chichen itza, to stay a couple days here and take in the jungle, the birds, cenotes, the pyramids and everything chicken itza has to offer.

Clean and super friendly. Upgraded my room for free since a little bit nicer one was available. I was here during the slower months though so i wouldn't expect that. Just beautiful scenery and all the amenities you could want. There access to the ruins are second to none. Walk from your room right to ruins. Well you have to pass there amazing courtyards. They have bungalows as well.
