Riviera Adventours is run by Virginia and her team, and they really know their stuff! My family enjoyed two different tours with them and we loved every minute of both of them.

I had been emailing back and forth with Virginia for a while before my family flew to Mexico, and she arranged two custom trips for us that fit with our desires. Virginia was very helpful and made suggestions and adaptations where needed. For example, my mum didn't want to rappel into a cenote in Punta Laguna, so instead we visited Casa Cenote, a nice wide open cenote, before we went to Punta Laguna.

The morning before our first trip, my boyfriend proposed - and on our first meeting with Virginia, she was so excited for us! She added some extra special touches for us throughout the day, which was wonderful, then at our dinner at the end of the day Virginia and the team helped us to celebrate. It had been my dad's 60th two days before that so we celebrated that too.

Our first tour was to Casa Cenote, the Mayan villages, Punta Laguna, Coba and then dinner at Oscar and Lalo. It was a wonderful day, we were able to go at our pace and see the things we wanted to most. We had Sergio as our guide, and Julio as our driver and both of them were fantastic. We had Virginia with us on the first day too, so with two guides and four adult guests it was a great day. My mum got sick with dehydration and the team were so kind and helpful, making sure she ate and drank enough to feel better. They stopped whenever we needed to use the bathroom and had lots of water and snacks for us.

Both Virginia and Sergio really know their stuff. They had a lot to tell us about the sites that we went to. Virginia told us lots of history and folklore whilst we were in Coba, and Sergio was great to have in Tulum.

My parents didn't come on the second trip as my mum wasn't feeling well, so it was just my fiancé and I with Sergio and Julio. We started our visit at Yal Ku, then on to Muyil, Sian Ka'an walk, boat tour and lagoon float, and then on to Tulum. Sergio is a great guide and we really appreciated his enthusiasm, knowledge and warm personality. He took lots of pictures of us which came out really well.

The equipment used by the team at Riviera Adventours is top quality. The van is clean, comfortable and air conditioned. The snorkelling gear was in great condition, the food was good, and the team knew just the right times to take us to places to avoid the crowds. Julio was a great, safe driver and we felt comfortable leaving some belongings with him in the van whilst we explored the sites.

Although private tours are more expensive than if you were to join a large group tour, it was so much more than we could have hoped for. That personal touch really made all the difference, and we got to do the things that we wanted to do and customise it exactly our way. If we go back to the Riviera Maya, we will 100% use Riviera Adventours again and see some of the other things the area has to offer.

We recently traveled to Tulum in August. We were referred to Riviera Adventurous for our excursions. We decided on experiencing Cenotes. We were not disappointed. We explored 3 different Cenotes that day. Our tour guide Virginia was fabulous. She took me under her wings and made me feel very comfortable. I was very nervous and had only snorkeled a few times. I was very appreciative of her that day. We loved spending the day with her.
She is very knowledgeable and we learned alot about the culture. From the moment we were picked up at our Villa and transported to her beautiful establishment for the most delicious mexican coffee and baked goods to the final ending of our day having lunch at her restaurant. The food was exceptional. The staff was exceptional. We had the best experience. We did not want the day to end. We are definitely coming back in the near future and we will definitely spend more time with Virginia and her crew. If you are looking for an experience of a lifetime then choose Riviera Adventurous. They have some great excursions. You will not be disappointed. Thank you to all who made our day special.

Not only is the day planned out to avoid crowds, you end with the most amazing meal at her restaurant, Oscar y Lalo.

Best tour ever!

The tour was planned perfectly by Virginia of Riviera Adventours. They provided snacks and water, and guided us throughout the whole tour. The snorkeling tour was exceptional and we saw a wide variety of different marine life. I can confidently say my first snorkeling experience was one of the most memorable experiences of their life. Weeks prior to even arriving to Mexico, I was in constant communication with Virginia. If I had any questions or concerns she replied quickly and answered my questions. By the time I landed to Mexico I was happy and confident about the tour because of Virginia and all of her attentiveness to our questions and concerns prior to arriving.

Day of the tour, my group and I were picked up at Tulum and kindly greeted by our amazing driver Julio. Refreshments, coffee, and snacks were all provided for us. Virginia was there as well and walked us through on what to expect. She and Julio were a delight through the entire ride to the dock.

The tour:
I saw about 4-5 whale sharks and Manta rays during my swim time. It was an unbelievable experience. Miguel, our water guide, took photos for us using our equipment. We all had the amazing opportunity to see some beautiful whale sharks. The crew on board made it their absolute mission to make sure we had the opportunity to see whale sharks up close and personal. We stopped at Isla Mujeres right after (gorgeous) and ate some delicious food prepped and served by Virginia and her crew.

Unfortunately my group and I became very sea sick on the boat during our tour. Virginia was an angel and took care of us all. She made sure our phones, cameras and other belongings were kept safe. She provided us with electrolyte refreshments to keep us hydrated but most importantly she made herself emotionally available to care for us and support us through our tour. If it weren’t for her and her empathy and kindness I don’t think I would’ve been able to have such a wonderful experience.

If I can give more stars I would. My group and I were treated like family. We saw beautiful whale sharks, and we were welcomed with kindness. Overall, we had an absolutely beautiful experience. I will always remember my time with Riviera Adventours. I cannot recommend them enough.

Omg, where do i begin, we did the whale shark tour and it was AMAZING!!!! we saw a whole bunch of whale sharks and manta rays they provided us with snacks and lunch also provided transportation. Also our tour guide Virginia was literally the most amazing human being ever she is so kind caring and loving. she made sure we all were taken care of at all times. Highly recommend these tours you wont be disappointed one bit.

We did a whale shark tour with Riviera Adventours. Our crew consisted of Angel our boat Captain and Nate and Andi our guides. Angel did an incredible job of getting us positioned to get the best views of and maximum swim time with the Whale Sharks. Nate did a fabulous job with the kids and the less skilled swimmer in our group. He grabbed them by their life jackets and swam with them to get them in position for great views of the whale sharks. Andi made sure our kids had fun and were ready when it was their time in the water. Then we had a nice lunch and swim time in Isla Mujeres. Everyone had a fantastic time and got wonderful views of the whale sharks. We could not have had a more wonderful experience!

I WENT SWIMMING with whale sharks and was lucky enough to find myself surrounded by mano rays. Virginia was amazing. Kind, professional, and went beyond her job to keep us safe and comfortable. I am not a swimmer, so Virginia took it upon herself to snorkel with me until I felt safe in the water. After u got sea sick and she sprayed mint water, made sure my camara and phone were safe, stood next to me until I began to get better. She was truly an angel and an amazing human being. I would recommend her to anyone who has little or of experience and to anyone who wants A class service. She is knowledgeable and her experience was actionable. If I could I would give her more stars.

Virginia Gonzalez took us all (a 10 person extended family grouping, ages 78 years to 6 months) on a wonderful tour of the Sian Ka'an Bioreserve.
She is a great guide: friendly, warm, and very knowledgeable. She was especially helpful with the younger children and one adult who was uncomfortable in the water.
Highlights of the tour: seeing the Muyil Mayan ruins in the jungle with no one else around; floating on upside down life jackets through the beautiful canals; lunch at her family restaurant Oscar and Lalo's.

We had a great experience booking with Virginia and her company. She was very responsive and made sure we were well informed and prepared for our excursion. Virginia kept us in the loop with the weather conditions, provided great tips and details, and ensured we got to go out on a day with the best opportunities to see whale sharks. We were picked up at our hotel the morning of the trip and dropped back off later that afternoon, after visiting Oscar & Lalo's restaurant before dinner time.
We had fantastic guide in Elie, our divemaster Josue, and Captain Fernando all made the trip a blast. We snorkeled with several mantas and whale sharks and with each jump off of the boat, they made sure we were ready and knew exactly what to do to maximize our experience with these awesome animals. Josue even helped my wife swim faster in order to get the best position alongside the whale shark. There were sandwiches, drinks, and snacks available for everyone and the fresh lunch of ceviche, guacamole and chips were perfect for our stop on Isla Mujeres after the snorkel. Our guides were friendly and professional - they provided lots of info about the excursion and also made sure we felt okay and were staying well hydrated. We will definitely enjoy future excursions with Riviera Adventours.

We can not recommend highly enough Virginia & Riviera Adventours for giving us the experience of a lifetime when snorkelling with Whale Sharks. From the moment we booked we had excellent communication & information & we were collect (on time) from our hotel to drive to the Boat. We were fed & watered with food to avoid sea sickness and dramamine provided too just incase, which must have done the job as I suffer horrifically from sea sickness but didn't once feel ill on this trip despite the sea being quite rough on the day we dived.
Virginia & Nay who dived with us were amazing - we have 3 children aged 10, 12 & 14 and had been worried about how they would manage as they were apprehensive, but there was no need. My youngest was pulled through the water by Nay (swimming like superman flies) right along side the whale sharks, so she was able to look these beautiful creatures right in the eye. We had several massive Manta Rays swim right below us and were able to catch all of this amazing footage on a go pro so we can watch it at home.
We all got to dive 3 times with the whale Sharks then we were taking to the most amazing coral reef where we snorkelled more and were fed a dinner of ceviche & fajitas.
A truly amazing day that none of us will ever forget - thank you xx

We did a private tour of Chichen Itza yesterday with Virginia and Pablo her driver. Wow, where to start !! What an unforgettable day. Virginia wanted to make sure we got the best out of our day. We were out for about 14 hours, had a very informative tour of Chichen Itza which was amazing ! Then we visited a cenote called Ik Kil where they do red bull cliff diving.....it has to be seen to be believed, absolutely beautiful. We then visited a town I think was called Valedonoid ....very Spanish influenced. We then travelled back to Oscar & Lolas restaurant for dinner. Fabulous dinner, best we've had in Mexico. After that Virginia wanted to show us a traditional Mayan village, so went to see another beautiful cenote and made tortillas with the head of the villages wife, saw where they did rituals and how they lived. So much to see......loved every minute...can't recommend highly enough. Lovely, lovely people.X

So this was the third time we have used this tour company. We like them better every time we use them. Virginia is amazing, sweet, and a true professional. Loved the Mangrove snorkling, zip lining, xenotes, and cave exploring! Trully fantastic.

Also, Oscar and Lalo restaurant is first class. Love the green agave drink. Super refreshing! Its just an overall amazing experience. Can't wait to go back.

My friend and I had hands-down *THE BEST* tour with Riviera Adventours on their whale shark expedition. Customer service and hospitality is amazing (shout out to the amazing Virginia!). Our guides Andy, Josh and our capitan not only we’re knowledgeable but also fun to spend the day with! You always take a chance when you book a tour like this, as it’s not guaranteed that you’ll see whale sharks, or enough of them so that you can swim alongside. But we had some favor that day, as we not only saw multiple whale sharks but a giant manta, sea turtles, and swam with a school of dolphins! If that wasn’t enough, the homemade ceviche and fajita lunch on board was delicious, leaving our stomachs and souls so full! It was a special, unforgettable time. We did the 'Swimming with whale sharks' tour last year and it is one of the best things we have ever done! We still talk about it regularly and remember the great experience well. The tour company is excellent - professional, organised and fun and we felt safe every step of the way. If you have the opportunity to do this, don't miss it!

If I could give MORE than 5 stars~I would!! This Company is first rate with details on "customer service"!! We went on the Whale Shark adventure & it was breath-taking!! When we arrived there were not 2 or 3 or 5......our guide estimated over 100 whale sharks at our snorkeling site!! It was a fantastic day!! Highly recommended

Me and my group of friends had the pleasure of experiencing Riviera Adventours for a full day. They picked us up from our house in the morning with coffee and breakfast snacks and then we snorkeled in the BEAUTIFUL Dos Ojos Lagoon where the ocean salt water meets the fresh water of the lagoon. We were so lucky that it was during the season when thousands of silver colored sardines come in huge schools. When you swim into them, they create what seems like a magnetic field around you and it's magical. We saw tons of really neat and pretty fish and the whole time our awesome guide, Francisco was taking candid photos of us swimming and exploring with his underwater camera. Then we were taken to an underground Cenote that is privately owned and we were the only people scheduled to go through it for the day so we were really able to enjoy it without feeling rushed. It was absolutely breathtaking! My girlfriend and I were so overcome with the beauty of it all, we become emotional. It was the beautiful moment and I recommend everyone experiencing what we felt and seen. Our guide during the Cenote was Virginia, one of the most wonderful woman/angels I have ever met. She was a great guide and really sees life through Mother Earth's eyes. We were given clean wet suits and very good gear to go through the Cenote too, which was included in the cost of our tour. She took picture of us during our tour so it was really nice not having to see anything through the lens of our camera. We just enjoyed the ride and the view! We didn't want to leave the Cenote so Virginia even stayed with us as long as we wanted because she was so happy we appreciated it like we did. After that, we went to another beautiful lagoon where we zip lined, cliff dove into the lagoon with crystal clear water and snorkeled again with all of the cute fish and turtles. Oh, and I almost forgot the cost of our tour came with a full meal from their amazing restaurant, Oscar and Lalo's. The food was to DIE for and the Chaya drinks they made us were the most refreshing, healthy and delicious drink I have ever tasted. All of this was only $130 each! I was so grateful for the experience and this amazing company that we tipped them the same amount that we paid for the tour. It was worth every penny and more! The guides, the experiences, the fact that everything was basically private...I can't rave enough about this tour company and the wonderful people that run the company and tours. Please do yourself a favor and have an adventour with them! You will not be disappointed.

We are a family of 9 and just spent 9 days in Tulum. We booked 2 amazing experiences with Aventours the extreme expedition and Coba expedition. Virginia was fabulous to help with bookimg and making sure everything was perfect. Our guide Andi was so much fun and so knowledgeable we would definitely ask for her again when we come back. Great experience 2 great days! ☀☀

We took part in an all-day (well, roughly 8 hours) tour throughout Tulum. Snorkeling in various cenotes, canoeing, riding zip lines, and swimming. It was a blast!

The cenotes were crystal clear, like nothing I'd seen before (I'm from podunk-nowhere USA). The waters reflected all sorts of blues and greens with plenty of local flora and fauna to spot. Tarantulas, various species of birds, the famous crocodile Panchito, lizards, bats...Maybe more? Lots of wildlife regardless.

Our guide, Sergio, was knowledgeable and charismatic. He answered all sorts of questions from our group regarding the animals, the flora, the local Mayan communities, and more. He translated for us when some of the staff at the cenotes were not English speakers. We also had some non-tour related conversations. Sergio was truly a champ. Friendly, smart, witty.

Our driver, Julio, was extremely safe and gracious. While his English wasn't as good as Sergio's, he went above and beyond to be helpful.

We had a slight medical emergency during our tour and Sergio and Julio helped a great deal. They drove us to a clinic in Tulum and took care of one our tour members. They were patient, caring, and again, Sergio helped translate to make sure our friend would receive proper care. Thankfully, the incident was easily taken care of and we were back on our tour quickly.

When we arrived at Oscar y Lalo for our meal, the food was served quickly and was delicious. Virginia, who helped us book the tour, met us there as well. She was extremely friendly and checked on our friend's medical situation. More than I could ask for; she was a real character, too, always smiling.

Overall, our little adventure went above and beyond my expectations. Next time I spend time near Tulum, I'll definitely book a tour with Riviera Adventours again. I'd love to see the Mayan ruins and I'd certainly spend time with Julio and Sergio again.
