Hotel Mereva Tulum

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous. Excellent option if you are traveling with kids. All the spaces are meticulously clean, with beautiful decorations.
The customer service is above and beyond; Erick, Jose Luis and Dalia made us feel like we were at home. The entire team is great!!

What a find! Extremely happy that we decided to stay 3 nights at the end of our Cancun trip at Mereva! The resort is very clean, beautifully built very close to the water, and the perfect getaway to relax and just be there.

The hotel staff were very accommodating and responsive. Right from the welcome drinks, checking in and checkout everything was carried out smoothly. The morning breakfast was the best part of our stay. The beach was accessible all the time. We would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a relaxed time in the Tulum area.

If I could give Hotel Mereva 10 stars I would. Such an amazing place, located perfectly on Tankah bay north of Tulum. Our back door to our room was 20 feet from the sea. Two amazing pools, one full shade, one full sun. The food and drinks at the restaurant were both very good. Local fish tacos on handmade corn tortillas with a mezcal margarita was my daily lunch which was served to me right on the beach lounger. Screaming fast wifi so that's not an issue. And directly across the street is a fresh water cenote with a super friendly crocodile that we did see which was awesome. And possibly the best part was the staff. So genuine and professional. No issue getting what you needed to feel completely taken care of. We didn't want to leave and we can't wait to go back, that's when you know you picked the right place...

Wow. Worth the visit! Mereva was the perfect place to relax during our mini-moon. Carlos, Joseph Luis, Aaron, Dalia were just so fabulous at making us feel special. The food at the restaurant is so delicious. We left the hotel one night and enjoyed ourselves but didn’t feel the need the rest of our trip because the food and drinks were phenomenal on location! The lobster, pizza, mahi mahi tacos, and nacho’s were our favorites. A fresh breakfast is included with the stay which really boosts the value. I wish we had gotten to say thank you to housekeeping- they made a different towel animal each day. Just made it fun to see how they did it! Our massage was very relaxing and I loved hearing the water crashing under the dock. Made it extra relaxing. There are two different pools in addition to the beach area so space was never an issue for us. We stayed Tuesday- Saturday so it was quiet most of the week which I loved. The room also had beers, sodas, and water which was very convenient. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend booking! If you’re worried about the seaweed- it didn’t bother me! The sea is rather rocky so it wasn’t my favorite to swim in but the pools were great for cooling off. The seaweed adds a beautiful color to the scenery and I didn’t think it smelled bad personally. Each day they were working to move the seaweed. We loved staying at this property in lieu of a big resort. I felt like we had more attention to our needs and it was so comfortable!

We stayed at Mereva for 4 nights. Our entire stay was excellent! The location was perfect, away from the noisy city but close enough for easy access. The beach and the view from the property was pristine. The hotel was clean, with spacious rooms and had all the facilities you need for a relaxing stay in Tulum. Most importantly, Betty and Dahlia at the front desk, Oscar at the restaurant, and Rosie from housekeeping went above and beyond to make our stay beyond excellent. Highly recommend Mereva and we will definitely return.

100% of staff was very accommodating. Location was great for a quiet getaway. Food ranged from delicious- the Octopus and Mexican corn - and the pizza we got was just okay. Other pizzas looked better. I wish it was communicated That it’s customary to tip, because it’s almost expected, which is fair as long as guests know. The water activities were nice. There’s a boat to take you out to reef every other day but you need to arrange a day ahead of time. Very friendly front desk and really nice rooms that are large clean and nice beds.

We spent part of our honeymoon at Mereva Tulum and absolutely loved it! The hotel is on a gorgeous private beach and they provided snorkeling gear, kayaks and paddleboards which were a lot of fun. Yes, there was seaweed, but the staff worked tirelessly to clear it and it really wasn't an issue. The room was lovely and clean, and the included breakfast was really good. The staff were also super polite, friendly and helpful - particularly Oscar.

The hotel is about a 15 min taxi away from Tulum town centre, but honestly we preferred the hotel to the town so we didn't go in often.

Hotel Mereva was AMAZING! Beautiful location, clean rooms, good breakfast and drinks, but better than anything else was the incredible staff. I fell in love with Brian immediately, he had such a helpful attitude, always friendly and super cute and sweet. It felt like I was seeing a best friend again it was so easy to talk to him. Whatever hotel he works at in Tulum is where I will stay. Love you Brian! Thanks for making our trip so wonderful!!!

Overall an amazing place to rest and enjoy water sports that are included in the price! However, the drink are quite pricey, but breakfasts compensate for it. Team is very friendly, and helpful. Definitely, we recommend to rent a car to stay there though. Fantastic stay! Thank you Mexico❤

Beautiful view of the ocean and beach from our room, we could even see the ocean, full moon, and sky at night. Peaceful atmosphere, lovely green nature-filled premise, delicious food in the hotel restaurant, and extremely kind staff. Shout out to Oscar 🍐for the guayaba and sweetness. Great place to have celebrated my birthday with my sis and mom! Loved the Dia De Los Muertos altar🙏🏽

We just returned from a long weekend at the fabulous Hotel Mereva Tulum. From check in to check out we were so impressed. The staff is super friendly, attentive and thoughtful. The food and drinks were great and the hotel offers equipment if you want to snorkel or kayak. There is also Casa Cenote and a small store that sells essentials less than a minutes walk away. Overall, we are so happy we chose this hotel and had an amazing stay!

Its a beautiful boutique hotel with cute interiors and a private beach. The complimentary breakfast had a variety of options with good vegetarian/ vegan food. Their cocktails were also well made. We were really happy with our stay and the friendly staff.

I didn’t stay at Mereva, but I stayed at a hotel nearby and had dinner there one night. It was so amazing! Our server was so kind, sweet, and patient. He made us feel really special. The food was also so good. I ordered the squid and the forest pizza. Highly recommend both. Our cheese board was also awesome. Really well arranged and delicious. And the overall atmosphere/decor was also really pretty!

We had a fantastic three day stay at the Mereva. Staff is friendly, professional, accommodating, and breakfast is complementary. They also have delicious water with fruit in the front lobby, which is also a perk. Friendly neighborhood dogs walk around and say hello while you eat breakfast.

In the hotel room, there is a complementary a mini fridge with water, beer, and soda that is refilled each day for no extra charge.

It was very quiet and much higher quality than some of the adult only resorts that we have experienced.

Our room had an espresso machine, a TV, and organic soap shampoo and biodegradable bug repellent. Although these last things seem like they should be included, many of the hotels in Tulum do not actually include them— so if you are browsing, definitely ask.

The Mereva is truly a hidden gem. The only con is that it takes about 25 USD to get into town, but it is much more worth it than the over priced lower quality hotels in the main hotel strip that have less perks.

A beautiful, cozy little hotel right on the beach and next to a Cenote. The staff is wonderful and makes you feel right at home. The food is excellent, but it's a bit pricey. All-in-all a fab location for a relaxing vacation.

A perfectly lovely place to stay. Warm, friendly staff. Quiet beaches. Steps from the water. If you are looking for a wild party beach you will want to look elsewhere but if your goal is relaxation and beautiful views- come stay here.

Friends and I stayed here for New Years and it was the most amazing time! The staff was incredible, so attentive and helped us get safe taxis every night. We are 4 girls and felt safe and cared for the entire time. The food at the hotel was amazing and we ate alot of meals there. The beach in front of the hotel is so beautiful, secluded and serene and the hotel itself makes you feel like you’re in paradise, it’s been better in person than in pictures. Lots of amazing spots for pictures! We are already planning our trip back! I would recommend Tulum and Mereva to anyone!

Beautiful ocean front quiet hotel. The rooms are spectacular. Each room has its own pool and social area. There's also community pools, a great bar and a beach area to relax. They have kayaks to go on snorkeling excursion. There's also a massage area by the sea. Great vegetarian food (vegan ceviche, veggie pizza). Highly recommended.

Mereva is a boutique hotel located 20 min from downtown Tulum. The decor, the staff, the vibe of the place is downright serene and peaceful. The calm lapping of the waves, peaceful instrumental music playing throughout the facility, rooms with private plunge pools and expansive view of the ocean were all a cathartic experience. The staff all the way from security at the gate, front desk personnel, cleaning and restaurant staff were a joy to be around. Francisco in particular, made the stay a memorable and enjoyable experience. They even accommodated our request of borrowing their snorkel gear to go visit the Gran Cenote and drop it back later in the day even though we had checked out earlier that day. I would go back in a heartbeat. The cleanliness of the property is also inpeccable. They provide with a clean-up and a turn down service with a lavish breakfast that you can eat to your heart’s content both in the lobby restaurant or in your room!

Disliked · The beach is average in all honesty. They do have a semi private beach with the adjoining property, Cielo Maya, but it is small and average. No waves, muddy and has two piers that lead into the ocean but the seabed is rocky and the water was murky.

We had an amazing experience at Mereva Tulum. It’s just 15 minutes north of the town center, which we appreciated because it wasn’t so packed and stayed pretty quiet and relaxed. All the rooms were literally steps from the ocean. A decent beach to chill on — they have chairs, hammocks, snorkeling gear, kayaks, and paddle boards all free of charge for you to use whenever you want. The restaurant was decent. We only ate there for free breakfast and preferred to eat at restaurants in town or in the beach zone. We rented a car and had a really easy time getting around, but they have bikes if you want to use them! We truly had the most peaceful and rejuvenating experience at Mereva. The kindest staff we’ve ever met and the service was fantastic. They accommodated our every need. Highly recommend a stay here!!!!
