Hotel Catalonia Riviera Maya

My husband and I stayed here for 7 days and have really enjoyed our trip. Victor from guest services was quick to help and Pepe and Mikey made volleyball a blast.
We enjoy seafood and healthy food which all the restaurants provided great options.
The snorkelling was really cool - we saw multiple types of tropical fish and barracuda. The beach is rocky so water shoes are definitely needed. You will have to go early to the beach to get a good spot.
The location is a 5 minutes away from the marine in the area and we were able to see dolphins, manatees, and even a wild stingray.

We recently stayed at the Catalonia Riviera Maya for 5 nights. We received great service from all the staff at this resort. A huge shout out to Oscar at the pool bar and Francisco at the beach bar - they were super friendly, attentive and made our stay very memorable! The resort itself is beautiful and well maintained. The rooms are dated but very clean. Overall, the food was good, however, the booking system for a la carte restaurants wasn’t ideal if you like to sleep in. The booking system opens at 8am every morning and restaurants get booked up almost immediately. Aside from that, we had a great stay!

Miguel from Algeria Spa was wonderful. I had the aromatherapy massage. I came here with allergies and was hoping this would help clear my sinuses and it did. I was nervous though because I had some sun burn on my back but he used a lot of oils and it didn’t hurt at all, actually helped soothe my skin. The massage itself was magical, one of the best massages I’ve ever had. He was very respectful & made me feel very comfortable the whole time. I highly recommend this spa and Miguel!

Great service in general from all the members of the staff. Special thanks to Georgina for her kindness and patience taking care of our children. Also to the people of the cleaning service for keeping our room neat every day of our stay. Great food, drinks with great variety. Definitely a hotel to comeback in the future.

Stayed at both the Catalonia Riviera for one week, and the Catalonia Yucatan for a week.
The Yucatan was our first week and we could see it is definitely a bit outdated with tired, but clean comfortable rooms. Other than that, the staff are amazing! Monica at the front desk was warm and helpful, housekeeping was perfect and any staff member you would pass in the halls were very friendly. Alfredo was always at the front to help facilitate any extra needs or questions you may have. Food was just fine and the pools are clean. Week two we went to the Riviera side of the resort, this was a bit of an upgrade with modern rooms and two extra restaurants to book into. The staff rotate on both sides so we were able to see some of our favourites like Ruben the bartender who made the most excellent dirty martinis. A real bonus with these resorts is the gated community with marinas, bars and restaurants to visit. We felt safe and well cared for.
We absolutely would recommend and return to either one of these resorts!

My first trip to a resort Jan/Feb 2024. A perfect experience. Preferred status is a very quiet single room. As a single traveller I felt welcome and safe. 100% positive interactions. Of special note the server in the buffet Guadalupe who went over and above to make me comfortable. The room was cleaned impeccably. Thank you Catalonia Riviera Maya!

Pepe, Louise and Kevin have the absolute best energy and gave their 100% each and every day. They have a knack for making everyone feel included and elevating the mood. I truly enjoyed my experience there!

Great hotel has beautiful gardens. Nice beach front views. Rooms are comfortable staff is friendly and helpful specially one of the waiters Daniel became my favorite during my stay. Entertainment is great also!

This is a great resort. It my first time in Mexico and I loved it. Everything was well taken care of and the resort is really clean. The staff was amazing and very friendly. I also want to point out Manuela, the waiter, from the burger restaurant. She was amazing with her services and took care of us while we were there having dinner.
This resort was 10/10 highly recommended it for anyone, you'll not be disappointed.

This is an absolutely fabulous resort. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The customer service was outstanding. The shows were great, something different every night,. All of the restaurants for very delightful.
We opted for the romance package with several spa treatments which were all amazing. We celebrated my birthday and it was definitely one of the best birthdays I've had in years. We would definitely come back for the spa and the overall cleanliness and very well managed resort overall.

Francisco did an excellent job of taking care of us. It was a great experience that we would repeat. The first time we had a resting period with water and cookies. The second time we did the water circuit we were taken out and changed and sent on our way.

Absolutely fabulous resort. Carlos was a lot of fun and very friendly, Carmen and Caesar at the chill out bar were great! Lucas at Beloved restaurant was awesome. Alicia our house keeper did a great job every day! The food was great, short of the Italian restaurant, the portions were a bit small. The burger restaurant served us way over cooked burgers but it sounds like it was a bit of an anomaly. We plan to come back to this wonderful resort!

Ivan the Bellboy was very helpful.
Ivan was trying to sell us the Valentines lobster supper was very amusing and enjoyable.
The room cleaning staff did a great job of looking after us.
Otoneil the bar staff from the snack shack treated us very well. Thanks to all. We have had a great holiday.
Carlos from guest services stopped by and we had a wonderful conversation and made us feel very welcome.

A lovely resort. Small but with everything you’d need. The food is great the staff is friendly and wonderful. Shout out to our bartender Pedro a great personality. And Carlos who checked in with us regularly. I would definitely come back with my family. You wouldn’t think twice about relaxing by the water and letting them do their thing.

Great place for the price you pay. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. The room we were in was a little old but all worked well and it was pristine clean. AC was cold and not noisy, which is something I find in other hotels to be an issue. Good was plentiful and the special restaurants were great. Best part was the mini club where they have activities for kids all day. Definitely we will be back

Really nice place to stay in Riviera Maya, food at the buffet is good and specialty restaurant are good as well. Rooms are OK, spacious and the view is nice but some views are definitely better is you get an ocean view! Great entertainment team! Pepe and Kevin are making sure everyone has a great time! Also, location is great to see a lot of what the Yucatan peninsula has to offer!

This hotel is maintained beautifully. Rooms are clean, grounds well kept and staff are super accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed a short 3 days stay here at the end of a 2 week vacation in Puerto Aventuras and it was exactly what we needed. Lots of options for meals/ drinks/ entertainment and plenty of outdoor chairs at the beach and pools. Special shout out to Anita at the evening buffet restaurant, we were lucky to see her multiple times over the 3 days and she was always attentive, courteous and professional.

This place is incredible beautiful with amazing staff👌they really care about their guests and are so genuine. Thank you Rosa at the Mexican restaurant for great service and hospitality. We had a great time highly recommend❤

Spent 6 days at Riviera Maya and it was great staffs are amazing and very hard working.they will make sure that you are satisfied with the service that they providing. Great food, I advice to book a privilege member to try different kind of cuisine(Reservation only) I want to shout out Georgina at the mini club she is so friendly and she cares for the kids. Definitely going back!! See you next year!
