Can see the whole city of Mawlamyine from the hill top. Calm and peaceful place to relieve the stress. The guards are friendly. We even left our foot wears unattended but not stolen. Good place to visit even if you're not a Buddhist.

Very beautiful on top of mountain. From the top you can see the city view. When I visited the pagoda was under renovation as part of the periphery/surrounding structures were damaged.

One of the most Beautiful Pagodas in Myanmar. Located at and elevated place in Mawlamyine is reachable by Elevator lift. And can be descended following the steps. This Pagoda can be seen prominently from all places in Mawlamyine. The Pagoda has very beautiful idols of Large Buddha and reclining Buddha.. more images around the Pagoda.
On one side of the Pagoda beautiful scenes of the lower reaches upto the river can be seen .
Down the steps idols of angel like apsaras are lining to welcome the visitors.

Kyeik Than Lan Pagoda is a beautiful pagoda that offers a panoramic view of the city and a vantage point to enjoy the sunset. There was a power blackout but luckily we completed our tour of the pagoda.

The location of the pagoda allows for some amazing views of Mawlamyine and the surrounding area. It’s a nice quiet place to reflect, walk about, enjoy the view and cool off in what seems to be an ever-present breeze. There is also a covered walkway on the north side that leads to the Mahamuni Pagoda.

Best sunset spot in town! There is a charge for parking your motorbike (200 kyat from memory) but apart from that the rest is donations/up to you!

The view from the pagoda is splendid as it is located on the peak of a mountain. It is also one of the most popular pagoda in Mawlamyine since it is famous for the myth that the prayers at this pagoda from visitors are heard.

Probably the only nice thing in this town: watching the sunset from here. The pagoda itself is quite pretty and there is a lot of space to walk around once you're there. But the best thing is the view, especially towards Ogre Island and the river, astonishing.

The best mountain view in Mawlamyine with most popular historic pagoda with golden glory and bright in night view. This pagoda is a good place to pay homage and to meditate for concentration and to read and take rest and to walk and to make oneself refresh and walking exercise up to the climbing way to mountain. But toilets are not good and dirty as most places in Myanmar, which the gov and the committee ignore.

Many entrances are under renovation. This makes the 'where do you leave your shoes?' question a bit hard to answer. It's very tranquil up there and there are good views over the city. Some of the tiles are quite dark and they may bake your footsoles crispy. If you're very sensitive to this it might be better to arrive early in the day. There are also a few temple cats that may or may not like you.

One of Rudyard Kiplings favorite spots in Myanmar. Absolutly worth a visit. You ll get nice 360° view over Mawlamyieng and a beautiful Pagoda to check out. Its free of charge and remember to dress appropriate. Also get used to people asking to take a picture with you if you are a non-asian ;)
