One of the best hotel in Mandalay. We've stay for 3 nights to attended expo at CMC. The hotel is new and clean. Great restaurant on 7th floor. Finally, the most enjoy rooftop swimming pool which we went every evening.

While the hotel is new and pretty nice, I am disappointed in the management team (See Monique Reid’s post and the reply from management).

To suddenly come online and NOT acknowledge that your receptionist made a mistake and to continually imply that the customer MUST have misunderstood is disappointing, to say it simply.

During our face to face convo the morning of checkout, we gave a full breakdown of the situation and timeline. You stated that the change to the new rate of 2500 wouldn’t start for another two or three days and that your receptionist made an error. You apologized and gave the correct rate of 2,100 that was quoted in July and quoted AGAIN the night we stayed in August.

Now that Myo Mg Mg is changing the narrative, I am compelled to reply.

To take a note from your book, should you, as one in the hospitality industry, have an interest in clarifying your misunderstanding, feel free to reach out to me by phone. I will not be replying on google, despite the written reply that might follow.

As one who rarely writes negative reviews, I’m sure those choosing to read reviews will know the truth.

Those properly trained in the hospitality industry aren’t usually argumentative… They’re often trained to diffuse the situation and ensure there’s a positive impression. Often, a simply written apology is all that is needed when a mistake is made.

I hope the owner reads these exchanges and provides proper training for the management team, namely Myo Mg Mg.

New hotel with nice local decor. The beds are NOT comfortable at all. Definitely too hard for my liking but the staff is really sweet and very helpful. We had one issue upon checkout when they tried to change the price. We called the night before to ask the price before reserving our room. Once we arrived, everything was ok, but at checkout they tried to change the rate and this was not ok with us. For this I’d be reluctant to recommend to friends (especially foreigners) but other than that it’s a nice hotel with nice views.

To management, I thank you for acknowledging our review but I’ve changed my review from 3 stars to 1 star because dishonesty is not ok, ESPECIALLY when it’s posted online for many to see. It’s not ok that you’re trying to make it seem that our coming to your hotel was based on a price that we were quoted on July 15. We know better than to get a price quote 3 weeks in advance of booking a place. ESPECIALLY given the economic climate and fluctuation of exchange rate here. We explained to you that we were building a recommended lodging list for those coming from out of town for a special event. This is why we toured your property. Our staying there personally was not related. What’s NOT ok and dishonest is you agreeing with us in a face-to-face conversation and even acknowledging a mistake was made by your hotel, but then getting online in an attempt to save face and try to make it seem that WE misunderstood and booked based off of a price quote given 3 weeks in advance. We travel very often and calling a hotel before arrival is part of the basics of traveling. On August 8, before booking, we called your hotel to verify the price. We arrived only 2 hours later. Upon arrival we verified the price AGAIN and proceeded to check-in. Our issue was that the price upon check-in and check-out were different. If we knew the price upon check-out, would be different, we would’ve paid as soon as we arrived and not waited until the morning. Everyone makes mistakes and we are ok with that because we make them all the time. Acknowledging it and adjusting the rate was wonderful and we appreciated it, but being dishonest on a public platform is not good.
