Amazing place, amazing owner. She is really trying to make a change and improve life for local families in the villages. We not just ate here, we also organized our boat trip through the restaurant (the boatman was from a local village and the tour supports his and other families) and it was amazing. Highly recommend stopping by for a bite and a chat!

What a gem! Must visit if you're around and if you're not around definitely worth walking/biking here the extra mile😊The owners are such a lovely, welcoming people. The prices are very very reasonable and the food is great! Definitely the best tea leaves salad I have had in Myanmar. The decor of this restaurant is very pleasant with adorable local accents. Also this business helps empowering Burmese women (read the details in the pic I attach). I didn't snap the pics of food because I ate it too fast ;) But I will definitely be back and his time I will take more pics.

Very nice the place, food and the staff. But nicer what they do for women from Myanmar, helping them to have a better future. We had a very special dinner for both food and people from the restaurant. A must if you go to the town

We spent a lovely evening under the thatched awning having dinner. Yes, the service may be somewhat slower than westerners are used to in a standard restaurant, but there were only two women working the kitchen and we could see them starting to work on our order the moment we placed it. Since we were in no rush, it wasn’t a problem to sit and sip our drinks and enjoy the quiet evening while our food was being prepared. The portions are a little small, but since the menu is so cheap, it wouldn’t be hard to make a hearty meal out of a few different dishes. It’s too bad we were only in town for one night, or we’d be back for another meal.

The owner is managing a program for girls and they are all really kind and smiling. The foods there taste amazing and you should definitely ask for the vegan peanut butter pancakes!! The atmosphere make you feel at home :)

Great ambient where you can relax for the whole afternoon to enjoy the breeze. Food is slow in making but definitely worth waiting for. The curry is tasty with very rich coconut milk (5000Kyats). The noodle is delicious and ingredients are fresh (2000Kyats). The owner is friendly and English speaking.

We love Zizi and Paw Paw! We came here twice during our short stay in Nyaungshwe and both times we left the menu up to Zizi. The tomato salad pictured was one of the most delicious things I ate in Myanmar, and the potato rice is a perfect comfort food. Definitely make sure your menu includes those! Another delicious item (not pictured) was a creamy noodle dish.

We came for the food but we stayed for the company! Zizi is such a wonderful hostess and person. We stayed for hours one night just to talk to Zizi and her mother. They are both delightful and speak excellent English. Zizi is so frank and you can learn a lot about Myanmar from her.

Zizi, I hope that you can one day open up your home stay! Good luck!

Family-run place that serves up family recipes in a nice little two-storey bamboo hut. Very friendly, very good food, great location. Would definitely visit again.

Cozy restaurant with an aim of supporting community development. Good variety of menu offerings, everything we ordered was delicious.

The masala tea was especially satisfying.

There is WiFi at the place and a couple of cute cats that come and go, and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Eat here - you will definitely enjoy the food. It's delicious and prepared with a unique twist of the host.

Aside from the great food, I'd like to highlight what you would be supporting by spending money here...

Zi zi is the owner of the business, who uses this restaurant as one of the pillars in her mission to develop her community. She has an extensive background in social work and is very passionate about building the community and connecting people - on an individual and family level. In the restaurant alone, she has a development program for the young ladies who work there. She is involved in the local animal project, and wants to build a community development initiative supporting local families and tourists. She will make the time to say hello to you, have a conversation - simply connect.

I hope you will take the time to visit this place and encourage Zi zi in her work! It's so important what she is doing for the people and country of Myanmar, and for our world. 🌎

Lovely local place giving back to the community. The profits from your meal go back into helping women in need. Great food. Great vibes.

Amazing food with ingredients sourced from local farmers on Inle Lake. The recipes are family recipes which tastes absolutely incredible! We went there twice in our short 3 nights stay, and we had great experiences.

The place is what we call good for body and soul. Good for the body because of local organic ingredients, and good for the soul because of the fact that they hire women that have had troubled pasts - giving them a great new shot at life.

I can really recommend this place!

This place employs women from surrounding villages, including community outreach and practical education. Not only does it have a wonderful concept, it has wonderful food. Everything is made fresh and trends toward healthy. I’m in love with the smoothie bowl and avocado sandwich. Definitely go to Paw Paw for delicious food and to support the local community.

Very nice little restaurant. Extremely friendly staff and excellent food. Although it seems to be impossible to find unfriendly people in Myanmar I still thought it is worth mentioning 😊
Had the pleasure to eat twice there during my stay.
They are also offering boot tours on the lake. We booked one to Samkar village and had a beautiful time on the lake. Was a fantastic day.
Can recommend Paw Paw for the food and as a travel agency.

My favorite restaurant in all of Myanmar! Great homemade food, amazing staff, beautiful ambiance, an all girl team, vegan and vegetarian friendly, very affordable, and a great cause as well! I have tried almost all of the items on their menu, all are fresh, healthy, tasty and prepared in a very clean environment.

The best part is that PawPaw is more than just a restaurant, it is run entirely by women with the profits going to help the local community through a multitude of social projects that the owner of this restaurant takes on, from empowering young girls from local villages to assistance with education at the local schools. I highly recommend booking your boat tour/trek/taxi through PawPaw restaurant, for the best rate, and knowledge that you are helping the local community.

PS. Try the smoothie bowl!!

Very welcoming and friendly staff, the owner is very passionate about cooking and smiling and happy, great energy!
They can also arrange for you a taxi to / from the airport (which I suggest you do to get a better price), organize a boat trip that you can customize as you'd like and also offer cooking classes.
Great place, will definitely visit again next time I visit Myanmar! :)
