Rocky Ella Cafe - Sri Lanka

Staff are extremely kind and friendly, we had a great waiter who informed us food may take a little longer than usual due to staff shortages for New Year. We were happy to wait and it was well worth it, didn’t even take that long. Beautiful presentation and flavour and nice atmosphere in the restaurant. Would definitely recommend. We had the Pineapple King Smoothie bowl which was lovely.

Tasty Chicken Salami Pizza in large size, which was enough for two persons. If you should be real hungry, it won’t be sufficient. The taste was very good, well backed platform with rich topping etc. We loved it.

We highly recommend this cosy place while in Ella. We were in Ella for 3 days and every day we could enjoy delicious dishes.The chef Sandun was amazing. The Singapourian style chicken soup was our favourite.
The most precious experience was friendly atmosphere. When you visit them, meet Chini, who is the manager. He became reliable friend who helped every time we needed. Waiters were young and very enthusiastic.

Nice restaurant / cafe. We had a two iced coffee, a burger and poke bowl. Everything was tasty and fresh. The service was fast and friendly. Payment by card was also no problem. Fair prices.

We are from Australia and enjoyed our lunch at Rocky cafe. I am gluten-free and have coeliac disease and they were able to cater to my needs well with a range of options.

Fantastic flavourful food. Just take a look t that photo! Amazing options for vegans and gluten free - the waiter talked through the options well. Beautiful presentation. Very hospitable friendly service. Atmosphere lacks a bit of the liveliness and music of competitive cafes however nice for a chill serene street side people watching time.

Must place to eat in Ella. Amazing food we eat in dinner and went there for the breakfast, it was really tasty. Better to book the hotel without breakfast beacuse it was really good. The owner and staff are great you enjoy talking with them, excellent service. Absolutely wonderful. 💯

Lovely restaurant in Ella with really friendly staff and reasonable prices. We loved the devilled fish and the chicken kottu. Nice chilled atmosphere but still has a buzz! Would definitely recommend Rocky Ella Cafe😁😁

This was the best kottu I have ever tried in my life. And it was vegan — jackfruit kottu. Super super tasty. The staff was very friendly, polite and welcoming.

Everything was done to perfection. High quality food that is very reasonably priced. The plates were well presented. Portions were perfect in size. The staff was really friendly, and flexible in makings few changes to the menu as per our requests.Also played few rounds of chess to keep ourselves entertained and busy while waiting for the food to be on the table

Really great restaurant in Ella. Exquisite service, everyone was so friendly, even taught us some Sinhala. The food was unreal, we had pizza (lovely) and the tuna steaks which was absolutely amazing and so so cheap! Couldn’t recommend this place enough! Harima Rasai, bada pirieta (apologies for the spelling lol)

We ate here once and we took away once. The portions were huge and the food was reaaaally tasty. The stuff was really nice and kind, they didn’t have any vegan dessert in the menu when I asked, but they made one specially for me, which it proved that they really care about their customers. We tried everything we found vegan there. The place it’s very nice, amazing food and great stuff.

Excellent service, excellent food. Not as cheap as a roadside cafe but the quality of ingredients and the presentation made is a cheap meal in comparison. Well worth a visit, the avocado toastbwas perfect and the iced coffee...wow.
