Banana Leaf Cafe - Ella

We were returning back to Ella city from the Secret Water Fall and it was past lunch time.
On the recommendation of our driver Akee we stopped at Banana Leaf Cafe.
Awesome Sri Lankan lunch buffet, setup in clay pots. We served onto a banana leaf.
Lunch costed around Rs.1,000/- per person which was fully worth.

Fantastic place to stop, staff couldn’t be more friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. Best Rottu we have had on the island !

Amazing mountainside cafe with great view! We stopped in at this cafe for a quick lunch and were so happy with the delicious lunch and friendliest service. We chatted with the workers and enjoyed the entire experience. we absolutely recommend stopping in for coffee, lunch or desserts overlooking the mountain.

Great and affordable place for local food, away from ella's bussy city centre.

Il cibo è incredibile e le porzioni sono veramente generose! Vi consiglio vivamente di passare di qui e fermarvi per pranzare o cenare. Il personale è super super gentile e parla benissimo in inglese.

Bardzo uprzejma obsługa, bardzo tanio, porcje ogromne. Nie udało nam się zjeść do końca. Chicken Gravy, które dostaliśmy na przystawkę było niesamowite! Pan poczęstował nas regionalnymi słodyczami, które również były wyśmienite. NAPRAWDE POLECAM

Wij hebben hier heerlijk gegeten. Porties waren groot. Veel keuze ook in drinken. Het personeel vindt het leuk om een praatje te maken en is vriendelijk. Prijs kwaliteit is goed wij betaalden niet veel voor 5 drankjes en 2 keer een bord eten. Ik raad deze plek aan!!!

Food and the atmosphere both are perfect. But really bad service. Staff doesnt know even how to speak.
And there is an issue with food quantity.
Be mindfull when you order fried rice.
