Great food, good vibe and friendly staff. A welcome change from the more local style restaurant. Also the open kitchen was a nice touch and says a lot about the cleanliness of the place. The tree trunk benches and tables are a cool touch as well as the chill area.

Cafe guru is quality restaurant in Ella which is very popular among everyone. It's built with great hippy decor and got a nice kick to this place. Its a partially open eatery with great food options. We were happy with service and food. Must visit in Ella.

Awesome place with delicious curry! I had the curry hut and it came with 10 curries, for 750 rupees. Very friendly staff and nice interior. And located not in the crowded main street. Very recommended.

Cozy and modern. The atmosphere is very nice with soft electronic music in the background and a warming live fireplace next to you. They have cute little dogs running around begging for a pet (and some food). Pizzas are a nice change if you feel like you've had too many rice and currys. Juices are tasty

Great spot to eat in Ella, pizza was delicious as was the tandoori chicken wrap. Staff are always super pleasant there!

Cafe Guru.. Name says it all.. Guru of food in Ella town. Superb service, food, and great vibe. Must try place if you ever visit Ella

Wau... food was realy good... we tooked chicken with fries... the taste as super good. Place is cleaner than most restaurants in town. All open kitchen... hiding nothing! I also liked that these guys have pretty cool and interesting interior. Nice couches are great to chill after long walk while waiting for food.

Awesome authentic place. Much more better than common restaurants on Sri Lanka.

We went there for dinner and loved it. The place looks great, is very comfortable and the staff are very attentive. We had the pizza and chicken curry which were both delicious. Special mention must be made of the chicken curry which was massive. Overall, great value for money!

So happy we went here! Food was very good and affordable. Staff were really friendly. We had the chicken curry dish and a pizza. Both were really good and freshly made. They used local vegetables for the curry. The pizza was crispy with homemade dough.

It’s about 50m away from the center where restaurants and bars are located. Definitely worth giving this place a try.

Without a doubt the best restaurant in Ella. Wonderful ambiance and a delightful combination of high benches, sofas and tables. The service is first class and there is a good variety of food choices. The pizzas are excellent. Located away from the noise and fumes of the main drag, it provides a lovely place to enjoy a very pleasant dining experience or for just chilling out with a coffee or a cold beer.

We have just had a fabulous evening here. Great food, a fantastic pizza and SriLankan curry. Down the hill from the busy part of town, chilled music, funky decor... Spacious/ cool. Could not recommend it more highly.

Beautiful new restaurant in Ella. Very spacious and nice atmosphere. They are a bit further down the main street with all the restaurants but they are worth the few more meters down. Their pizzas are as good as anywhere else in Europe!! The lovely crew will welcome you and make sure you have a nice meal.
They are on the rooftop of a few shops, if you don't find it just ask one of the local while going down the hill

Seriously, just come to this place. It’s way better than anywhere else in the main part of town. Delicious food at a good price, great cocktails, chilled beats on a rooftop bar. Just a great all round vibe. Had the traditional curry hut meal and it was epic. Best restaurant in Ella.

Very nice place, not so busy than in the city. Nice atmosphere and interior. Very friendly staff. The food was really good. We hat the veggie rice and curry where you get nine different curries! Too much for one person. You should share it! The vegggie fried noodles were also very good. Came with extra veggies and green Salat, Tomate and cucumber at the side.

Best place in Ella to chill out. Wonderful food and beautifully designed. A hidden gem forget the rest around town which are too busy and noisy. Can't fault it try it.

I'm not the type to write a review but I feel like this restaurant deserved one. Once we had the food their it was simply the only place we went for breakfast, lunch And dinner. Penny and Sudais were really kind and made sure whatever we wanted was at hand. I'd definitely recommend this place over the over hyped cafe chill. We went there and the food was below average and overpriced

Looking for a place away from the busy crowded main street of Ella - than Cafe Guru with it's nice terasse view, lovely comfortable sofas and relaxing back ground music is the place to go. Lean back and enjoy one of their gorgeous milkshakes (banana chocolate, strawbery lime, ...) or feel at home with Pizza, Burger and salads; for Rice and Curry lovers - it's the best I've had so far ;)
