Great shop, they are offering tea tasting. Recommend going in the morning because some teas are sold out quickly. Knowledgeable and friendly staff.

The retail assistant there was fantastic! He was so passionate about tea and all the technical processings - it was lovely to chat to someone who could share my love for tea! Fluent English as well! He had us smell absolutely everything and talked about each tea in fine detail just the way I like it!

Kalindu helped me select the right teas as I didn’t have much knowledge on the difference. He even let me try a few teas before I bought them which I really appreciated. The tea is definitely high quality and Kalindu helped educate me on which temperature to steep and for how long. Also really affordable pricing! These would make for great gifts for friends and family back home. I’m really happy I came to this tea shop in Ella and highly recommend.

If you are looking for a real good taste of tea, then this is a must go. Located at the center of Ella. The Ceylon Tea Centre has different teas available which also you can try before buying them.
The seller who is Madushankar is a well-experienced for the tea in its health benefits and right preparation which affects the overall taste of the tea. Something I learned there. So I bought their Greentea & Infused Soursoup Greentea which are their best sellers. White tea as well.

Very helpful manager who explained the different flavours, strengths and types of the tea on offer. We got to sample the teas and he showed us how to brew each type of tea. Wonderful service

Their estate is a low- to middle- growth one in the south; the result is fragrant and bright black tea as well as delicate and mellow white tea. This store (Ceylon tea center) restored my faith in Sri Lankan silver tips and in the splendidly broad range of display in taste and aroma for Sri Lankan tea overall. I have been disappointed at the quality of silver tips in Sri Lanka; worst was the other tea shop next door, which I shall not name, supplies a silver tip that is rampantly rotten. But the teas at this shop behave quite well overall, and some in their more expensive range are top class.

There are very significant shortfalls to British-designed tea production methods, intended to produce mass-market tea as a working class stimulant and not the casual, affordable and appreciable everyday enjoyment it is in the original homes of tea making — China, Japan and other pacific-rim Asian societies. This company makes a good deal of whole leave teas and achieve rather impressive results, especially in their black teas. They also perfect artisanal twirling methods uniquely suited to the large-leaved Sri Lankan tea plants.

Their highest grade white tea is so delicious that it would be a crime to not try it. The black teas are exemplary exhibitions of the buttery, floral scent of the best Sri Lankan teas.
