Mountain Resort «Oi-Qaragai Lesnaya Skazka»

Loved this place. We went there in winter and lived in a tree house. Really a great place to spend if you are in Almaty.

Georgian, Italian and National cuisine restuarants are in the premise.

A kid’s park (paid) is there. Spa is available and skiing activities are very active.

so helpful for the receptikn desk there. They helped us through some problems we faced and the service was outstanding 🌟

We chose a tree house and the room is kinda small, but you cannot expect a mansion inside a tree house 😬 make sure you book a reservation there at least for a day 🌸

If you are choosing a tree house, please make sure that you are ready to walk as there are lots of steps to the tree house(s). But reaching the area is easy as they have got vehicles to carry us and the luggage there. Also, they will take your luggage to the room 🌟

We got some early morning guests near to our room once, a squirrel and small bird ❤

Amazing, I had an issue with Oi-Qaragai Resort booking service, I was really surprised when the management contacted me and apologized and changed the situation, I am glad that the resort cares about the clients, and I hope the vacation time will be outstanding. Thanks, a manager named Khati. Very professional approach.

I planned to spend at least one night here but I had to postpone my flight for a week and that changed the whole plan. We came to spend a day as a group and got to experience the zip-line, archery and the kids had a great time in the kids zone. I loved the place it’s well organized, clean and fun to be in. The location is nice of you want to be away from the city.

Very good for getaway. English is abit difficult but just use google translate to Kazakh or Russian very nice staff all over the resort very helpful and kind will love to come back again. Activities are awesome

We had a wonderful experience at Oi Qaragai, conveniently situated just a short 30-minute drive from Almaty. The tree house we booked provided an amazing view of the surrounding woods. The highlight of our visit was definitely the rope park, offering a range of exciting activities, including an incredible trolley zip line that soared over 120 meters high and spanned 560 meters in length. Additionally, the on-site restaurants were few but satisfying, and the breakfast spread was delightful. Our family had an unforgettable vacation at this exceptional destination, and we are already making plans to return for the winter break.

We really enjoyed staying at the tree house in Oi-Qaragai. The house has a perfect interiour - cosy and nice - and contains everything you need for a good rest. There is also a small terrace where you can have coffee in the morning and wine in the evening. It was a special experience to live on the trees among the forest.
The resort provides a good quality service and reasonable prices. The territory is clean, the staff is attentive and helpful. There are a lot of activities so you can choose upon your taste. Skiing, mountain bikes and cartings, trolley park, riding horses, spa, hiking routes and rope park also. Special zone for children entertainment. Three restaurants with Kazakh, Georgian and Italian cousine. Highly recommended. We will definitely come back again.

It has a good view and it is quiet 😍
The room is good and clean, good tea quality 👍🏻.
The bathroom is clean, the shower is not that wide but does the job.
The internet speed is good.
I don’t recommend bringing a big bag if you choose the 15 tree house room.

The spa service is very relaxing and good, with good price.

I loved the italian restaurant, good service and there is english speaker.

This place is amazing!!! We spent 5 nights here and used it as our base for exploring the hikes around here. It’s very easy getting here w a taxi (use YandexGo app - like Uber). From downtown Almaty to here (45 min) it’s like $5-7. We never needed a car while using this app. There are multiple hikes straight from the resort grounds and all are so beautiful. Our fav hike started at the top - you take the ski lift ($7 for up & down), which are on the resort grounds, and then hike the view points at the top. 1.5hrs into the hike you end up at Boars lake with views that make you think you’re in the Alps. Just stunning!

The breakfast food is also great, lots of variety. Our fav restaurant was the Georgian one, second floor above the Italian one. Like truly amazing dishes. We ate there daily & didn’t have one dish we didn’t love.

We stayed in the luxury tree top room for 4 nights and it was amazing!!! The beds are very comfortable, had bathrobes, heated floors & heated towel racks, and each room is like a private little hut. It’s in the woods so the sounds of nature are just lovely. You should be warned it’s a hike going up & down every day so keep that in mind. On our last night we stayed in the Al-Turk, which is right at the entrance of the resort. Beautiful rooms again and nice balcony views. Much easier to navigate if going up lots of stairs is an issue.

Also did a spa treatment which was done in a yurt - truly beautiful! Maria was amazing!

All in all we started w 2 nights here and ended up w 5….we clearly loved it!

I was here for a musicians' after-party... post-Spirit of Tengri. Got to zip-line here and I had a blast. It would be even more fun once this becomes a ski resort in the winters.

We came here to visit the location and use cable car to the top. Like the calm and not busy atmosphere compared to Medeo.

Nature is wonderful!!!
The hotel is nice, 4 stars. Tree houses have a very wonderfulviews, but you need to be ready to walk all the way up, it is not easy for families with kids, I had to change to standard room, which is more spacious than that tree house. Multiple of activities are on site for adults and kids. Food is just okay, breakfast is very limited but the burger restaurant has delicious burger sandwiches. The prices are a bit high but I think it is okay for the location.

Жаль, что у нас не так много мест, где бы были готовы так вкладываться. Единственный минус Лесной сказки - еда. Удивительно, что на такой огромный комплекс только один маленький ресторан и одна бургерная.

Update 2022
Restaurants are still the biggest issue for Lesnaya Skazka. Quality in the two main restaurants (Italian and Georgian) is good, but the service is awful. Other restaurants are off very bad quality (especially, the burger house - the smell is so bad that one cannot even walk alongside) or just closed. In all restaurants, one will face big queues and lost orders. We arrived at 21:40, and at the check in, receptionist said is that room service would be available 24x7. But when we tried to order some food for our kids at 10pm, they said is that everybody at the kitchen was already sleeping and nobody could even prepare fresh salad or French fries or pizza or bread with butter - nothing! They just offered to heat remaining steaks (for kids). Next day, we ordered a pizza and tea for kids to sauna. After two hours, they said that nobody even started preparing our order because they forgot about it. And again - no excuses, no compliments, no simple sorry!

Great attraction park, the zipline is just incredible. 560m long and 128m high.

Such a beautiful place. A lot of snow was in beginning of December. Georgia, Italian, Local cousins as well as fast food. Ski activities with coaches

One of those unusually beautiful places of Almaty where you can relax all seasons, both in winter and summer. I really love this place and always bring my friends there who come from other cities and countries. There are a lot of different and interesting entertainments in the territory, for both adults and children. Picturesque place, fresh air, positive atmosphere. Must visited place

The territory is great, the nature is marvelous, the rooms are comfortable and clean, the staff is polite and competent. The hotel complex contains the following entertainment facilities: trolley, rope park, paintball, football and volleyball court, and many more. Definitely advise this place!

Don't miss the eggplant salad and the berry 😋 juice so yummy and fresh.

Beautiful place, halfday was not enough for us to benefit from all available activities. We had a picnic, took a lift, that's it. Definitely would like to be back.

Excellent. Super clean toilets and rooms, and great food. Welcoming and very kind staff. Amazing place. Great amenities for business meetings too!!!

I loved this resort, it has nice playing areas for kids, nice bungalows for rent, téléfrick, restaurants and coffee shops. The weather was so cold.
