I love this hotel and I definitely have to say that with the upgraded banya (sauna and social area) with views of the mountains this hotel has one of the best perks I know.

The breakfast spread was amazing and dinner at the same restaurant is really yummy. The food is outstanding and the drinks were really good too. I enjoyed the sea buckthorn tea as well as the Kazakhstan cognac.

The outdoor pool is really fun although be warned that swimming in it anytime before 6:30 pm will be accompanied by tourists walking on the other side of the wall watching you swim.

I think that this is a worthwhile place to stay as a couple for a romantic get-away or as a family trying to enjoy the mountains from a place that feels more luxurious than camping.

Plus, the family suite allows you to share the experience with your entire family in one suite which is really special.

It was an excellent place to visit with kids they enjoyed it a lot.

Yes I totally agree rooms need to be refurbished and even redesigned yet the place is perfect to be in peace, meditate, heal, recover, read, work remotely.. I would love to visit again in winter and summer. Stayed here for 4 nights, spending the days hiking and roaming around in the mountains then resting all evenings in the resort restaurant where it is cozy and comfy enjoying many great local dishes, it was very precious time and memories were created! Staff BTW, were helpful & kind, thanks for their effort making our experience great and unforgettable ❤

Great hotel with I guess great traditions - the swimming pool makes it much higher standard than a typical sleeping mountain place. Anyway, Lenin Statue is weird and not acceptable (even as "soviet folklore") so it would be better to avoid such historical disgraces in a recreation place.

Especially, I was surprised that all the staff were so friendly. The swimming pool has a children's pool, so it's great for families with young children..!!

The drive to the mountains is one to cherish. Once you reach the ski resort, you can use the cable cars to go up to the hotel, or hire a cab for 3000t. The mountains are closer from the Resort Hotel, and a climb up can be refreshing. I will definitely visit again.

A little rustic, but comfortable and convenient. We love the hostel rooms for our family. One hostel room has 4 beds and the other has 6, and if you reserve early you can get the whole room.

My visit was in June so I cannot rate the skiing experience because the ski season is over in April. But the nature and views are stunning. Plenty of dinning options. They could improve the availability of English info.

Beautiful views, fresh air. You can reach this point by foot / cable car/ taxi. If you decide to go there by yourself in middle of road you'll find small Jacuzzi with cold river water and second with warm. It's for free, perfect when you are tired of walking.

Nice place to visit during winter (all the winter sports) but also other times of the year. Where else so easily you can get to 3200 meters high? A lot of different cafes and rent for snowboarding and skiing.

Weather was not good. Strong wind at the top (face piling). However, because of the poor weather less people visited shymbulak today. The slopes were pretty empty and no ice.

Before I was planning to go there, I was finding out thru some colleagues (there were in this place) about the opinion of this place, and I got divided opinions about good and not that good.. My personal opinion is that this place is really good!! I recommend this place also for tourist people (if by any chance they are in Almaty during winter period), the attention there is good. the prices are fair enough for the pocket, you have different options depending of your enjoying plan, I paid for the full day and in my opinion was cheap, inside the facilities they rent the stuff for the skying.... I never had previous experience about the sky resort, it was my first experience and I think it is a very good place for it!!! I feel satisfied with experience I had there with my family!!!

One of the most beautiful and exciting places you have to visit on arrival in Almaty. Shymbulak Mountain Resorts is located in the picturesque gorge at an altitude of 2260 meters above sea level, a 15 minute drive from the centre. Shymbulak doors are open all year around for all visitors from all countries. Duration of sky season from November to May. I know a lot of tourists from South Korea, Russia and even Europe come specially to Kazakhstan to enjoy the mild climate, bright sunshine and clean air of Shymbulak. Personally, I come here once a week just to take a break from the bustle of the city, work routine and gain even more energy and strength for the upcoming working week. As well as to soak up the sun and enjoy the view while drinking a cup of tea and coffee. These mountains give me inspiration, energy, a reminder of my plans and goal, and give the feeling that I am able to achieve them💪😅🤗

Nice alpine resort with good facilities. It is accessible by eco bus or cable car. It serves either as a base for alpine hiking or as a ski resort. It also provides breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain peaks.
