Medeu Cable Car , Shymbulak Ski Resort

It was an wonderful experience to take the cable car to Shymbulak ski resort. The cable car ride to the 1st phase rakes about 25 min. View from the cable car was amazing. There are a lot of restaurants near the ski resort where one can have snacks/ tea, coffee and relax. Nice place to walk around and take pictures. The second phase was closed for public during our visit. Quite an enjoyable trip.

Well maintained cable cars/Gandola rides. Definitely not an activity to miss near Almaty. You can reach there from Almaty by Taxi or Bus. Public transport gets very crowded so try to go in off hours.
Will suggest you to take the combo including all the cable car routes so that you don’t miss anything.

Astonishingly, this Shymbulak Ski Resort is just 30 minutes drive from the city. Though it was a Saturday, we came in early to avoid the weekend family crowds. Soon, we took the cable car out to the 1st tier, 2nd and 3rd tier all the way to the peak. Beautiful sights of the mountains with skiers, skateboarders and people like us. We had Taskent tea and titbits at the Peak. We had a blast of a time as seen by the pictures and videos. Must visit and highly recommended 👍👌

Beautiful 360 ° Gandola ride towards snow mountains. There are 3 levels( cost 6000 T /return) the first one has multiple cafes & restaurant, the middle level has nothing but a stop for skiing, and the third level has a very good view and a resort..

The place is amazing and recommended for visit.
1. Parking area cost 500 tenge for a day.
2.Cable car unfortunately was only opened for first station (5000 tenge round trip), while middle and highest stations were under maintenance.
3. A stunning view the moment you ride a cable car, which require 25 minutes to arrive to first station (Shymbulak Mountain).
4. There you find a gondola, which is an open cable car that I did not take.
5. Several restaurants and coffee shops at location including a small resort to stay if wished to.
6. Temperature was -1 C. Took a walk on the street by crossing over, a fabulous views and atmospheres.

Beautiful Gandola ride amidst snow mountains. There are 3 levels, the first one has a cafe, the second has nothing but a stop for skiing, and the third level has a very good view and costs 5000 tenge. Locals come here for skiing.

This was the most beautiful place I'd ever been to in my life. It felt like being in a dream. My first time on cable car to a snow peak mountain. Truly breath taking. I also ate the most delicious beef Burger that was better than McDonald's!

Must watch place in Almaty, had a great time here, cable car ride - go to the points, enjoy have fun, worth visiting 👌👍

This is a must see and experience when you visit Almaty. Perfect views, longer than what I expect it to see. When you get to the top, you can drink coffee and enjoy the surroundings or just walk leisurely and absorb the relaxation that the nature will give you

It was a thrilling experience for us in the cable car towards Shymbulak.. It excites and fears at the same time when we reach around the middle way since it goes to higher altitude..

Round trip cable car fee is 5000 tenge during the weekend, around $11. Well worth the costs as you get to see spectacular views! There’s a total of three stops to get to the final part of the cable ride. (August 2022)

A very good entertainment for adults and kids. Great to see slopes of mountains so close to you. Be prepared for the cold at the last stop.

This is actually a surprise as they have better cable ride than other place i've been too. Well equipped and more modern compared to Armenia. Cheaper as well.
