Asa no Ha

I’ve gone here 3 separate times to buy items to hang around my place. There are a variety of designs and very beautiful. I put 1 in a picture frame and the other 2 I bought on a magnetic hanger. I will be back again!

I stumbled across this place randomly on my way to a nearby museum and I fell in love! Every single thing is gorgeous, and the range of tenugui is sure to suit any taste. The products are also so reasonably priced! I bought several tenugui (which I use to wrap around my teapots to protect my hands as pictured below), a fan, and a giant pillow, and I wish I had bought even more. Definitely remembering this spot for my next trip to Tokyo :)

This shop sells the usual selection of Japanese decorative hand cloths called tenugui, but also has a good selection of folding fans and one-of-a-kind traditionally dyed textiles between 2000-5000 yen, so not all that pricey for memorable souvenirs -- and light to carry! The staff is always very friendly and helpful, but have never challenged them with English.

Great souvenir shop for unique, local items if you are looking for these items as souvenirs. They take credit cards.

手ぬぐいを扱っている他のお店にも伺った事がありますが 『 麻の葉 』 さんはデザインや色使いが素晴らしいと思います。
また、猫好きの心を揺さぶる猫柄ものの手ぬぐいも多数あり、猫好きは購入にあたって悩む事、間違いないと思います。
日本のお土産として他国の方にあげるにも色々な分野の手ぬぐいを揃えてらっしゃるので好みのものが入手出来ると思います。
私的には本当に色使いが素晴らしいと思います。

弁当箱の包みなんかで、昔よく使ってました☆
季節で柄を使い分けたり、色々出来て彩りが嬉しい😆

単体でプレゼントもいいけど、プレゼントの包装に使うのも良いかも✨

小さな手ぬぐい屋さんです。8畳前後の店内には季節を感じられる手ぬぐいの見本が展示されている他、手ぬぐい生地の小物などもあります。横向きの柄、縦向きの柄どちらも豊富です。今回私が購入したのは獅子舞モチーフの柄でしたが、同じ獅子舞でも他にも種類があり、選ぶのに迷います。それぞれの絵には作家さんの名前が書いてあり、手ぬぐい毎にこの絵はどんなものかという説明書がついていて「アート」なんだなぁと感じさせられます。

麻布十番商店街の奥の方にお店はあります。絵てぬぐい、布であるのに、アートです。歌舞伎のくまどり や 浮世絵もあり、ハンカチ、ふろしきもあります。

てぬぐい というと 何かありきたりの商品を思い浮かべますが、かなり芸術性がある商品はとても良いと思います。

陳列もとても美しいので、見ているだけでも、たのしいです。東京みやげ、彼女への贈り物にピッタリですね。

季節の変化に応じて、布の雰囲気を変えていけるので、重宝します。

外国の方にプチギフトとして贈ったところとても好評でした。日本の伝統的なデザイン、(歌舞伎や舞妓さん、風景等)、ポップなデザインの犬等、バリーエーションが豊富です。お値段も1000円くらいからとお財布に優しいです。お店のスタッフの方も丁寧に説明してくださり、とても良い買い物ができると思います。

Here is Japanese traditional cotton towel shop. They are painted various kinds of pictures such as kabuki, flower and Japanese view etc. And modern art design are also available. Staff are very kinds and would help you to chose products if you need. The price are also reasonable from around 1000 yen.
