奥共同店

Great little store! We stopped here to grab a few things. People were incredibly nice. Plenty of options. Understand, they are not a San A! They have the necessities and some extra things. Enjoy the rural feel, grab some local treats, and be kind to the people here.

Local people of this area runs this store together. You can find this type of local stores in Okinawa, this store is the oldest which started in 1906. You can buy almost anything, there's a gas station too. This area is famous for green tea, you can buy some kinds of tea products. This store produce original T-shirts, some designs/colors are only available at this store. Only Japanese yen in cash available.

This store has a wonderful selection and exceptional prices considering that it's the only grocery, convenience-type, store in the area. The nearest FamilyMart is about 25 minutes away in Okuma Beach.

They have really cool Okinawan Rail (ヤンバルクイナ) themed gifts and tasty treats, as well as nonalcoholic drinks and Awamori (泡盛). It's a co-op store that supports the local village residents with food, water, and toiletries. So, tourists please only buy what you need as far as those items are concerned, and maybe some small amount of souvenirs and the liquor to help them make a bit more money.

Most importantly, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful (despite my poor Japanese). When my car battery died nearby, they helped me jump start it so that I could get back to the YellowHat in Nago. This was an extra kindness that they didn't have to do. どもどもありがとうございます。

Lastly, there's a small eatery at the back of the parking lot. The nice lady there sells tempura 🍤 and zenzai ( ぜんざい). Please visit them if you are staying at the adjacent hotel (Yanbaru no sato) やんばるのさと, which is a cozy cottage-style inn. Oku beach is one of the nicest I've found with an actively growing live coral reef and tropical fish 🐠.

Sorry, if this sounds like an advertisement, but this is my genuine impression of this charming little town in the northern mountains of Okinawa.

A General Store, where you can purchase food, drinks, snacks and camping supplies and, the last gas station, you'll see for miles are all at this location. Staff are friendly and helpful Only yen is accepted and, Japanese language recommended. Wheelchair and stroller friendly, this is a great place to find information, such as, dates and times for local cultural events and festivals when the local community center is closed.

沖縄をレンタルバイクで一周するライダーにとって救いとなるガソリンスタンド併設共同店です。
ただしハイオクはありません。地元の方の生活や仕事を支える車のためのガソリンスタンドなのです。
ハイオク車をレンタルする人は国頭村に入る前後で満タンにしていきましょう。

はじめての共同売店です。
ゆいまーる精神の互助で成り立つ売店、本当に面白いシステムだし素晴らしいですね！
ゴーパチ始点到達証明書も購入でき満足です。

日経のビジネスモデルの特集やJALの機内誌に登場した奥共同店。奥集落の皆さんが共同で運営する雑貨店。品揃えは多分ローソン以上。沖縄ではこのスタイルの雑貨店を時々見かけるが 、奥共同店は沖縄最古だそうで、1906年開業とのこと。小腹が空いていたので、V8(ちょっと珍しい350ml缶)とナントゥを買いました。

奥共同店で急な買い出しができ、とても助かりました。お盆の最終日だったその夜は共同店の前で青年会がエイサーを披露していて、太鼓や踊りや指笛等、一所懸命応援する住民と一緒にその一時を共有できて感激しました。住民にも観光客にも重要で大切な共同店だと感じました。ありがとうございます。

沖縄滞在中必ず寄ります。新茶の季節はとても楽しみ。インザツ茶葉の新茶とおくみどり紅茶は最高に美味しく、大量に買って帰ります。

先日、自作のカラキ酒となるもの購入しました。
店員さんも飲んだことないとのこと。
昨日飲んでみたら、なんと美味しい！
コーラの様な味でした！

釣り具売っています。図書館もあります、素晴らしい。

ガソリンスタンド併設、且つ飲食店も隣に有り、この地域のオアシス。ガソリンが高いので満タンを勧めないという親切。ここで満タンにするのが礼儀だと感じる。実は、ここが無いと帰れませんでした。給油の際はお店までお声掛けしてください。

２００８年の沖縄ひとり旅のテーマは
共同売店めぐりでした。
沖縄リピーターしていても、
北部に行った事が無かったので
辺戸岬の夕陽を眺めたくて、
奥共同売店の奥みどりや
沖縄に共同売店が出来て、
１００年の記念Ｔシャツなど
行く前から沖縄ガイドブックに
載っていたからＴシャツ👕を
買いたかったんだけど、もう
子供サイズしか残ってなかった
夕方近くに奥共同店を発見して
Ｕターンして来ました。笑。
ご近所の人がどこからとなくOrion・泡盛を店内で買って、
店の前で、ゆんたくして飲んで
おられました。(o^∀^o)。

ないちゃー投稿者の勘違いが酷い。
そもそも共同売店とは街まで買物に行けないおじーおばー達地域住民のために住民が共同で出資し、日用品等必需品等を売っているだけ。
観光でプラリと来た人がコンビニ感覚で来て、ブーブー文句を言っては駄目!
あなたが買ったことで、本来買うはずだったおじーおばーが買えなくなります!
お邪魔させて貰う気持ちで寄らないと駄目です!

自転車で走る際の憩いの場。
夏場は結構な頻度行きます。日用品や食べ物一通り揃っているのでキャンプの際も重宝しております。お昼時は弁当やおにぎりもあり昼食をとるにも良いですね。
お店の方も親切でアットホームな雰囲気。THEやんばるまちやーぐわぁって感じ。
そしてコチラには中南部ではあまりお目にかかれない泡盛も置いてあります。
日用品についてもスーパーなどには無いマニアックなものもちょこちょこあるので見てて楽しいです。

Tシャツが欲しくてはるばる伺いましたが、共同店の中では品揃えもとても良いです。
特別珍しいモノではないのだと思いますが、イオンあたりでは見かけない紅いもパウダーと言うのを見つけて思わず買ってしまいました。
そして奥で作られているお茶、おくみどりの水出し用のティーバッグタイプ。
とても手軽で美味しいです。
勿論、残り僅かな100周年Tシャツと、YAMBARU JACKSONさんの奥共同店Tシャツと購入。
他に、鯉のぼり祭りのTシャツもありなかなか可愛いです。
辺戸岬方面から来て、この共同店のちょっと先に、国道58号線の沖縄県での起点があります。

沖縄北部でよく見かける共同売店の発祥店舗です。確かにこの奥さ加減ではそれも頷けます。
予想していたよりも店舗は大きく、大きめのコンビニ位の面積があります。標準的な共同売店とは規模が違います。ついでに、自分ところのTシャツまで売っています。
この一帯の生活物資供給拠点のようで、バスに乗って買い物に来ている人も見かけました。
営業時間は限られていますが、ガソリンスタンドも併設されています。
地図と地形から見ると、周辺から孤立している感じで、地名で「奥」とはよく名付けたと思います（自虐的に？）。
