Mejiro SOLA Clinic

I have been going to this clinic for a year now, and can only say good things about the doctor and psychologist. Dr. Matsunaga is very kind and comfortable person to speak to, and the psychologist is blunt (in a refreshing way) as. I could not explain everything well in Japanese, so being able to mix in English words was very helpful for me.

Dr. Matsunaga is the most caring psychiatrist I've had in both Japan and the States. She's patient, sweet, and will sit down with you for as long as it takes to make sure you'll be okay.

Could not recommend this clinic more.

Wonderful psychiatrist AND psychologist at this clinic. Before I went in to see the psychiatrist, the psychologist asked very thoughtful questions about my medical history and my treatment goals. I feel like they really listened and wanted to help!

Both doctors there have been so incredibly kind and helpful. I'll always remember them and their support. English friendly.

I spent a year abroad in Japan and SOLA Clinic was a real lifesaver! They supplied me with monthly prescription forms and a safe place to talk. Everyone at the office speaks English, so don't worry.

Great clinic. Everyone speaks english, prices are super low, NHI accepted. Doctor is calm and reasonable and the intake session is super thorough. Extremely comfortable and affordable.

Matsunaga-sensei (the clinic director) is an angel on earth. She's kind, empathetic, thoughtful in her thoughts and actions, genuinely caring, and undoubtedly a competent professional.

Thanks to this clinic, I got diagnosed and finally started meds that have improved my quality of life more than I could've imagined. I'm able to cope better, and actually feel hopeful, maybe for the first time in my life - thanks to the help of the kind people at Mejiro SOLA.

松永先生（院長）は神です。本当に優しく、自分に興味を持って接してくれ、寄り添ってくれるような診察をしてくれます。処方の仕方も相談しやすく、安心して通える病院です。

The doctor is great. She’s really helpful and caring. The physcologists also speak really good English. One thing I don’t like is the receptionist, she doesn’t say thank you or anything even if you say thank you which feels uncomfortable.

I regret going to this clinic. I have seen multiple psychiatrists and psychologists before but this is by far the worst.

The doctors are cold and curt, minimal talks about past traumas to assess, no talk therapy. They are in not helpful at all. Most of my experiences (in multiple countries) with other psychiatrists and psychologists have been useful and filled with information from just the first session, but this clinic just told me because they are meeting me for the first time they can’t assess me. Of course not! They barely ask about my personal history. And they’re not very inclusive as they don’t take into account that not everyone has a good relationship with their family and therefore may not have the support. They make assumptions regarding that.

They told me there’s nothing they can do for me this visit, not even write a letter for my company for me, because (again) this is the first time they’re meeting me (and not asking me what they should ask) and because I am going back to my home country in a couple of weeks.

Avoid this clinic if you want a proper psychiatry experience that will not put you off your treatment. I left feeling worse than when I went in.

Like normal doctors, they just give away medicine without really addressing whats the issue, or give you any advice. No talk therapy at all.
I asked the psychiatrist if the medicine has any side effect or not, she said not really, maybe only feeling sleepy. However when i went to buy the medicine, the warning list from the pharmacy was pretty long.
So i went back home and search about the medicine. It’s basically a very dangerous substance. Can cause liver and pancreas damage, dangerous for woman on reproductive age, can cause suicidal thoughts etc etc. well thank you for not even trying to explain to me about the side effects.
Wasted my time and money.

Not very kind when trying to make a reservation. I understand they have policy and guideline they have to follow, but they need to remember people calling are seeking HELP and not trying to argue a point. Little more kindness would go a long way.
