Marine House Aharen

I like Tokashiki and Aharen very much
But I absolutely love Marine House Aharen and their fantastic team.
They make you feel at home and part of the family.
They offer a free shuttle bus from the ferry to the hotel.
Namiko-san and Mayu-san prepare an amazing breakfast.
Namiko-san is a master of the perfect sunny side up eggs.
The hotel is surrounded in beautiful bougainvillea, it is comfortable, simple and calm.
I totally recommend having lunch at Sea House Hauori (Ankake is my favorite).
They also rent beach beds, umbrella, snorkeling gear.
I recommend the snorkeling tour and you may be lucky enough to see turtles.
It is my 4th time on the island now.
Most of the people come with the morning ferry and leave in the afternoon.
Don’t make that mistake but rather spend a couple of nights here.
The hotel is ideally located, 2 minutes walk from the beach and from Kubandaki observatory, from which you’ll experience a very scenic sunset.

This place was one of the few accommodation in Tokashiki that have English websites to book from. It’s just a short walk to the beach and there is a convenience store nearby to fulfil your holidaying needs. By the way, that store also serves a must-try ham/egg onigiri!

We were picked up from the ferry by the hotel bus so it was very fuss-free. The staff was friendly with their winning smiles. Half of them spoke little English but we managed to get by, albeit with some of my broken Japanese. We were given snorkelling gear rental vouchers, which took a sad 100 yen off the normal price. Breakfast was simple Japanese dishes which I’m ok with but didn’t relish.

Our room have a few too many steps up and down, an inconvenience for someone like me who have not fully recovered from a broken leg a few months ago. To be fair, someone like me probably shouldn’t be here in the first place XD The room was small but cosy, with aircon and openable windows (a huge plus!) complete with a laundry line just outside (a nice touch!)

This lodging organises a sort of night tour for its guests for free every night. We attended one because I was told that I could see bioluminence plankton there. BIOLUMINENCE! The tour was mainly in Japanese but the charming guide would try to answer in English if you have any qs. It was an entertaining tour even if I don’t understand half of it, and the sparkling plankton in pitch darkness remains one of the highlights of my trip.

A gorgeous place with a lot of coral beautiful fish. Good facilities hotel restaurants rental service and so on.

Beautiful beach. Watching the sunset here was unforgettable.

朝食つきプランがおすすめです！朝飯を阿波連地区で探して回るのは大変です。
このお店がやってるシュノーケルツアーは最高です。船で少し沖に出た場所でシュノーケルをしました。泳ぎに自身がない人向けに、インストラクターの方が大きなビート板みたいなのを引っ張ってくれるので、それに掴まってました。
後半は慣れてきてビート板なしでも泳げました。
運良くカメを見ることができました。大満足です。

ビーチからも近く、渡嘉敷銀座までも歩いて行けば美味しい居酒屋もある立地良しです。違うビーチに行きたければ、宿の人が有料で連れてってくれます。レンタカー頼むより楽チンです。

部屋はこじんまりとしてますが、快適です。
１階が食堂(夕食は有料でも提供なし。朝食のみの提供)で、電子レンジがあります。
２階が宿泊スペースです。廊下にはソファが置かれており、複数人数で宿泊する時の歓談場所としても利用できます。
タンク式の浄水器も設置されています。
屋上に、洗濯物を干すスペースがふんだんにあり、持ても便利です。

元日から、日帰りツアーのシュノーケリングのみを利用しました。気温よりも水温の方が高く、海の中は気持ちよかったです。スタッフの皆さんが本当に親切で良かったです。シュノーケリングも丁寧に教えてもらえて、泳げない家族も安全に素敵な海を満喫できました。ウエットスーツとライフジャケットを着ると体が勝手に浮き、溺れる心配は全くありませんてした。さらに、スタッフが浮き輪で引っ張ってあちこち案内してくれて、すごく良かったです。運良く、ウミガメにも会えて嬉しかったです。今度は宿泊やダイビングもしたいです。

とても素敵な宿です。
スタッフの方々が皆親切で、ホスピタリティにあふれています。
朝食も夕食もとても美味しく、故郷に帰ってきたかのような安心感があります。
