Nihon-ji Daibutsu

Full of natural beauty. Nice views and LOTS of stairs! I've never sweated so much in my life but it made the kakigori that much better at the end. Everything was worth it.

Nice place to visit. Impressive views on the surrounding area and massive statues.
Only the pedestrian way there is a nightmare since you got to go through tunnels without sidewalk together with the cars. So either take the gondola or the train to the other side.

Amazing temple you should go!! It have so many Buddha in the way and a good views from the top. You have so many places to walk in the park and see the enormous Buddha too! It costs 600 yen but I think is cheap for the great thing you can see

Beautiful place to visit. Have free parking lot. Ticket for enter temple is 700 for adult and can walk up from the big statue of buddha to the view point.

From the observatory, follow the recommended path can visit this Giant Buddha. Very peaceful and serene environment.

there is a fair bit of walking slope downward (a lot of steps) to this place. Not recommended if travelling with elderly.

Good grief! I know temples in Asia invariably involve steps, lots of steps, and, if I'm honest, too many steps. But this place takes that to a new level. Well worth it though. Make sure you go to the very top.

Was excellent! Great view at the the top of the mountain and was very big. There were lots of places to look at and you could spend a whole day here! Recommend unless you are going when it's very hot.

It’s 31.05m tall Buddha statue on the rocky cliff.
The place is really peaceful with beautiful view of sea & plantation on the mountain.

To reach there you need small hiking, which is really easy.

Small temple souvenir shop & toile is available.

I went today Apr 30, entry fee 700 Yen and to reach first Buddha statue(Nohon ji Daibutsu) need to walk in steps for 15 to 20 minutes.Too much windy , you will get nice sea view

This place is amazing. Two incredible big Buddha’s. A fairly knackering 1-2 hour round trip hike with beautiful views of Fuji, Yokohama, Izu and Oshima.

This place is really nice and it has places to sit and relax. It’s a good place to stop and have a snack after long hike. There were many steps to reach the giant Buddha so you would really want to sit down and take some rest here.

Visited the place along with family, good place for hike and if you need peace of mind.

We went here from Tokyo on weekends and this is one of the coolest place to visit. It is around 85Km from mid Tokyo and is easily assessable via car. You can either do short hike or hike from the bottom. You can keep up with your health by doing some hiking seeing the majestic beauty of ocean view. From the top, it is see some natural beauty of Japan which itself is very famous for. Must go place.

Good place to visit with family.
Combination of devotional feel by visiting sitting and standing Buddha, small hiking with very good landscape and sea views from Summit.
Better to carry water/food enough.
Better to travel on fine weather days for good views.
On the way from Yokohama to reach here, we pass through aqualine with about 20km bridge inside and over sea. Incredible construction.

A must see! The hike and/or cable car are fun and the views are absolutely amazing. The giant stone Buddha is impressive as well as the one carved into the rock wall.

Awesome weekend getaway from tokyo. Trains are available from kinshicho station. People who like to walk, this is a perfect place for them. Best sea view and many other photogenic places around.
