Tobu Department Store

Like any department stores next to a big station, lots of floors of fancy boutiques, but always some affordable shops like Daiso 100¥ (giant, with sub-stores Standard Products and Threeppy) and Uniqlp. Bottom floors selling sweets, beautiful edible goods, fresh food in basement, restaurants in upper floors... But this Tobu also offers a nice terrace on the 8th floor's Sky Deck! BBQ restaurant and beer, quite different from the scene down the street in busy Ikebukuro! If you are looking for nice bathrooms and benches to sit (a rarity in Japan), try the upper floors 😆

The department is older but it’s got everything. They offer 5% additional discount for tourists. To get it, get a code from klook first (it’s free), at the department store go to the level 2 tax refund counter to exchange for the discount. They will need a passport to issue the discount. This 5% applies only to cash purchases. But it can be added on top of the tax refund = more savings.

it was REALLY nice at daiso... they had lots of department store goods, really really affordable. like everything was basically under 350 yen. from household items like kitchenware and cleaning products to healthcare items like oral care/body health. staff were super friendly to foreigners as well and legit go out of their way to help. for example i asked if they had an item available while i was in self checkout, they left their station to see if what i asked for was available.

The variety and quality of the options available at Tobu's basement food hall is fantastic. Loved the Hiroshimayaki and beef bowl. The grilled fish was also great.

Massive department store where you can buy almost everything. I especially like the food section with freshly, readily made food (you always get a good catch for lunch or dinner).

Great Japanese Department store at the Ikebukuro Train Station. High quality goods and super Japanese service. Highly recommended for foreigners who wants to purchase some nice Japanese gifts for the family back home - great selection of Japanese lacquerware. decorations and fine plates. Always a great place to find Christmas gifts!

Convenient, with many shops inside

Great shop! Much more approachable and cheap than Seibu near it. Great food at great places. You can go there everyday and not get fed up with it. Recommended!

Especially we should more closely monitor events held in 8F top floor of the building.

Great place for shopping, entertaining friends .... has great shops and on top floors many good value restaurants. easy access by JR Train or Metro Lines - Ikebukuro Station is located very nearby

Very lively supermarket. And extremely huge. 2 floors selling fresh foods as well as gift foods plus restaurants

Just like any other Japanese department store. You can spend hours here. And the food market located at the basement level is a place you must visit.
