Oldest bakery in Tokyo and they say in Japan. Their red bean breads are incredible and I always buy a few when I visit Tokyo to bring home. Their second floor is also great for a quick coffee and you bring the bread from the first floor over (or order other meals from the menu). I tried the apple cubes, croissant and cinnamon roles, delicious!

Supposedly the bakery that invented the anpan bread.

The business has three levels with the ground level selling takeaway baked good, the second level is the cafe where you can get coffee along with any baked goods from ground floor and the third level is the restaurant.

Staff were friendly and service was quick. Love the red bean paste, not too sweet and serving size was generous.

It's quite popular with tourists and locals alike so be prepared to wait a while if you're visiting.

Surprised to see a bread bakery shop in ginza Main Street. But this one is very good
We tried the small buns on the right hand side, 桜 and 黒豆 both were very good .
They also sell some pastries on the other side but didn’t get to try this time
A good interesting place to pick up bread , although price is higher

Must try their classic red bean pan (with butter)! Creamy and tasty, I ended up bought a lot more buns but I think their number 1 seller is still unbeatable.

【🇯🇵Ginza Kimuraya】
Ginza Kimuraya is a famous Japanese bakery founded in 1927, located in the Ginza area of Tokyo. The bakery is known for its fresh, delicious, and high-quality bread, and one of its most famous products is the red bean bread.

Red bean bread is a traditional Japanese sweet bread usually made with soft bread and sweet red bean filling. What sets Ginza Kimuraya's red bean bread apart is the high-quality red bean filling and the meticulous production process for each step of the bread-making. The outside of the bread is soft and fluffy, and the inside is filled with sweet red bean filling, creating a rich and satisfying texture. In addition to the red bean bread, Ginza Kimuraya also produces various other flavors of bread, such as butter toast, cheese cake, and more.

Whether in Japan or internationally, Ginza Kimuraya is a beloved bakery. On November 3rd, I passed by this store and heard Chinese tourists outside praising the bakery's popularity. Later, when I went to the Uniqlo flagship store, I discovered that Uniqlo had collaborated with Kimuraya to release T-shirts, which shows the reputation of Kimuraya.

Every time I come to Tokyo, I always come to Gina’s kimurayas 2nd floor cafe for breakfast. Their shrimp and Katsu sandwiches are to die for. We decided to ge their red bean pie for the first time today and it didn’t disappoint. Nice and flaky crust with a balanced red bean paste topped with a small slab of mochi. Not too sweet but just sweet enough.

Kimuraya - the place where, according to mainstream Japanese food historians, the anpan was invented. If you choose to believe, or not, the anpan is quite nice, and it's also not just an - there's also cream pan, jam pan and more. In any case you have to ask yourself - can you actually copyright food? Can you ascribe anpan superemacy to just one shop and underplay an entire culture of beans and sugar? Is today's anpan the real thing? And what does it all mean? These are not simple questions to answer. Not for anybody. Ponder them while you feast on some anpan.

A hidden gem of a café! A must-visit when in ginza! The best breakfast of my tokyo-trip last week! The bakery store on ground floor has a huge selection of sweets and savory breads!

Really great anpan. It has a salted cherry flower in the middle which contrasts well with the sweet bean paste. I took takeout and one anpan was less than 200 yen. I believe it is way more expensive to eat at the cafe. The donuts were also worth to note.

The anpan bread is so good!
Now they have many flavors like cheese, sakura, etc but the original one is the anpan (red bean)

This place is super busy inside and is very confusing which line you need to be on. There are different lines for different items. We tried the stuffed bread items and every flavor was super delicious!

We came here for the famous an-pan and were immediate overwhelmed by the selection of pastries. The shop is very crowded, with many people buying goods in packs of 6 or more. We only wanted to try 1 or 2, but there wasn't a clear best seller so we tried a sakura-something flavor and a random yellow filled anpan we just pointed at. Of course, both were delicious, I just have no idea what we ate haha!
