Grave of Hachikō

Visited the grave of Hachikō in the morning and it was relatively easy to spot it. The surrounding Aoyama cemetery is quite big so you might need a bit of time to venture deeper and use Google Maps to eventually find the place, but it's located next to the main road of the cemetery (I attached some photos of the route in and the road below for clarity). The bigger tombstone belongs to his owner, while the smaller one at the right side belongs to Hachikō himself. When I went there, there was completely no one around so i don't think this is a typical spot for people to come visit - probably the more touristy statue located at the Shibuya Crossing is the one most would go to. But if you would like a more peaceful alternative, this is definitely highly recommended, just be prepared to walk a fair bit of distance to find this spot!

Can someone living nearby post regular photos on a weekly or monthly basis? Unable to connect with a local guide or people. Please 🙏. I wish to offer prayers for hachiko. Please reply to my email in the attached photo. I can pay for the local commuting.

Grave of Hachiko the loyal dog that waited in front of the train station for his owner to return from work for years not realizing the owner had passed away at work. Hachiko is buried on the same plot as his owner and has own little commemorative statue.

Visited this place in 2016. After asked for directions from several people, I managed to find Hachi's grave. There were lots of offerings on his gravestone. People loved him so much. I'll pay him a visit again once I visit Japan someday. Warm hug from Jakarta, Hachi!

I'm so blessed to visit Hachiko's grave. Wonderful cemetery, so peaceful and several friendly people walking about. Two kind ladies who were walking their dog's helped me find the exact spot. Thank you!! Bless you, sweet Hachiko. I'm on my way to your birthplace in Odate.

Aoyama cemetery is an interesting place... and beautiful. The Hachiko story is so charming, and it was so nice to see that the final resting place of Hachiko is so close to his beloved master.

渋谷のハチ公像は知っていましたが、お墓が青山霊園にあることは知らず、驚きました。
ご主人の上野栄三郎博士のお墓の入口に祀られているのも知り、ほっとしました。また、お墓の入口の右手にハチ公のお社があります。

飼い主さんのお墓の横に、小さいけれどハチのお墓が並んでいる。ハチ公の小さなお墓にはおもちゃやぬいぐるみなどが置かれていてほっこりする。是非、桜の季節にふたりに会いに行って下さい🧔🐶

先月初めて訪問しました。
上野先生のお墓の敷地内にハチ公の祠があり、可愛い犬の置物やお供え物があったり花も新鮮で沢山の方々が通われている印象を受けました。

普段からこうなのか分かりませんが、祠の前には容器に入ってない焼き鳥が直に置かれており、衛生的にも色々と気になりました。

近くには1羽のカラスがずっといたので、もしかしたら焼き鳥を狙ってたのでは…荒らされてなければ良いのですが。
食べ物は直ぐに持ち帰るのが一番なんですけどね。

それと、ハチの胃袋から数本の串が出てきたとのことで生前は焼き鳥を貰って食べていたのでしょうが、お供えするのであればせめて焼き鳥の串を外してあげてほしいなと個人的に思いました。

日曜日の昼頃でしたが霊園内にはあまり人がいなかった為、ゆっくりと散策できて大満足です。

青山通りから赤坂消防署入り口を曲がって、青山霊園に入り途中で左に入って少し進んだところにあります。霊園内は車は一歩通行です。霊園ないには大久保利通や志賀直哉のお墓、外国人墓地などがあり、歴史を感じます。ハチ公のように皆に愛される犬になってほしいを思い、お参りさせていただきました。

Pequeño pero significativo lugar para rendir homenaje a Hachikō (más personal y especial que su estatua enfrente de la estación de Shibuya). Hay que prestar atención para encontrarlo en el cementerio de Aoyama porque su tumba no es especialmente llamativa u ostentosa. Está ubicada en el sector 6, parcela 12. Un pequeño monolito grabado con el nombre de Hachikō marca la pequeña parcela donde se encuentran sus restos y los de sus dueños (Hidesaburō Ueno y Yaeko Sakano). En la parcela hay un pequeño altar en el que la gente deposita ofrendas como monedas, flores y comida, así como figuras de perros.

Los cuidadores del cementerio se afanan por mantener bonita la tumba del Dr Ueno y Hachiko. Muchas personas le ponen recuerditos a Hachiko y siempre hay algo nuevo en la tumba

最も有名な犬でありながら広く存在を知られていなかったハチ公のお墓がここにある。ここへ来ると人の温かさを感じる。

いつも誰かが知らぬうちに掃除をしてくれている。近所の子どもが小さなプレゼントを置いている。

今年は立派な石碑も作ってもらった。きれいな四つ目垣もできた。

渋谷のハチ公の銅像は絶えず人に囲まれて賑やかだがここはいつもひっそりとしている。それでいて笑顔になって帰れる不思議な場所だ。

桜の花見で青山霊園へ。今年は以前から気になっていた「ハチ公の碑」を訪れました。碑は飼い主であった上野英三郎さんのお墓のそばにひっそりと立っています。あくまでもハチ公を祀った碑なのですが、なんだかそこにハチ公の魂が息づいている、そんな感情がわいてきました。上野さんのお墓とハチ公の碑、そして桜。来年の春もまた来よう。
