Komae City Central Library

Small local library and it's great! For a child of preschool and primary school age, there are dozens of books here, and when you read them all, you can say that you are missing something. The child is able to walk around and choose a book for himself, of course, there are also books for adults. Friendly librarians (I don't read kanji, but they willingly helped me fill out forms or explain rules, library services...). There are days here when children are read books and there is a tatami room where they can read, lie down and relax. My children talked or enthusiastically commented on books - this, too, I hope, did not bother anyone and we did not make unnecessary comments. Children feel free and go here with pleasure. Next to the library (almost in the same building there is a cafe where you can have a tasty and simple meal with your child). Not far from the metro and bus station, there is a bicycle parking, vending machines with drinks.

狛江市役所敷設の図書館です。
開架の規模は客観的に見ても川崎市の図書館や稲城市の中央図書館よりは小さめです。しかし、よくここで学術書などを借りますが蔵書が非常にキレイで新しいものが多いです。特に法律系の書籍を借りる際は居住自治体の図書館ではなくまずこちらから寄るくらいです。

広いとは言えないですが、ごく最近発売された本も各ジャンルにあり、人気がありますが、偶然借りれる時もあるので、楽しみです。

規模は小さく地味ですが、蔵書検索・予約、市外の図書館からの取り寄せ、リクエスト、さらには電子書籍が読める電子図書館にも対応するなど、地道に改善が続けられています。蔵書点検期間前には、冊数無制限で借りられるのもうれしい。

今日金曜日は夜８時まで開館していて、ありがたい。

蔵書の多い少ないは人それぞれのニーズによるので何とも言えませんが、事前に本の検索、予約ができ、大抵翌日には受け取れるので便利だと思います。また、受け取る場所を選べるのが嬉しいです。

図書館としては非常に小さく、蔵書の数も限られていまが、最新の雑誌は一通り揃っているので、雑誌を読みに行くのにはいいのかなと思います。こじんまりとして、アットホームな雰囲気です。

狛江市内の中央図書館だけあって比較的資料などは集めやすい。他市からの取り寄せも可能。
