Sanno Hospital

I was not a client of this clinic, but I came here to have a consultation because I injured my leg. I am not able to speak Japanese, the staff on the reception called to interpreter and we understand each other. They said that they don’t do any emergency consultations, however the doctor said that he will see me in between or after all appointments.
They gave me some papers to fill out, there were available in English)

Doctor could speak English and some stuff as well somehow. All of them were super friendly and nice to me.
My recommendation to visit this place if you have any problems

This hospital is located not too far from two subway stations Aoyama-Itchome & Nogizaka. I was surprised to walk in and see a beautiful piano in the lobby! The staff are super friendly too. I was looking lost and was quickly approached by one of their English speaking staff who helped me find my bearings.
They have comfortable seating throughout the hospital, clean restrooms and a medication dispensary on site so you don't have to go looking for a pharmacy. Once you pay (after you hand in your yellow folder at reception & your number appears on the screen) you'll be provided with a number on your receipt. Use that to find out if your medication is ready, tear off the slip with the number on it and give it to a staff member at the dispensary.
I would recommend calling to make an appointment beforehand.

I went to the outpatient clinic there (Internal Medicine- Endocrinology). Since it was my first visit, they made me a hospital card. The process took a lot less time than I anticipated, which is amazing. The staff there seemed eager to help with English support and other questions I had. The doctor was helpful and ordered the necessary tests as I expected. The tests were also done unexpectedly fast. Whenever I got stuck with any procedure, I got help from the staff. Also, the pricing seemed kind of reasonable to me (I have a Japanese health insurance card so I pay 30%).
I truly recommend their service.

I had my delivery here, excellent pre- and post natal care. Every single staff member from the receptionist to the nurses to the doctors were wonderful and kind.

Shitara-sensei was my main doctor and she was very communicative and had a lovely demeanor overall, and she remembered all the details of my birth plan (although, as one can imagine, it didn’t go as planned).

The midwife for my labor Kawachi-san was also excellent, super supportive and coached me through the process (it was my first birth) and made me feel comfortable at every step.

My plan was to go natural but due to various circumstances we decided to have an induction, as well as an epidural at the last last minute (at 5-6 cm). I thought it would be tough, but they very quickly got everything sorted and got me the shot. The anesthesiologist was amazing as well - she asked what I wanted and adjudged the amount of medicine, so I felt no pain but could still move my legs and get the pushing experience.

I had second degree tearing after an episiotomy (the doctor asked several times before making the cut, since initially I wanted to try without) but it healed very well, within 2-3 weeks.

The postnatal nurses were also lovely and kind, the food was nice, the room was beautiful. In terms of logistics, the wait times were decent and it helped that I didn’t have to pay every visit but could do a combined payment at the end.

I cannot thank the team at Sanno enough and feel very blessed with my birth experience which might have been a lot more stressful and traumatic if I had been at another hospital. My husband was also allowed to be with me throughout and could visit every other day.

My only complaint is I wish he would have been allowed to stay with me in the room, but hopefully with COVID rules changing that will change too.

Finally, I should also note here that I speak fluent Japanese, and I had done a lot of prior research so came prepared with lots of specific questions for the doctors and knew all the details of childbirth and what to expect. If someone comes hoping to be told everything without researching / preparing specific questions in advance, they may find the doctors don’t volunteer as much information without asking, which could be disappointing.

I never had such a great experience like this at a hospital before. Really amazed at how wonderful the Japanese people are. My respects. Thank you.

Dr Adachi is the best in gastrointestinal department. Speaks perfect english and is very kind.
They also have very helpful help desk where you can reschedule appointments in case of emergencies.

I started going to this hospital, because it was recommended by a friend of mine. In general I find this place good. As in every Japanese hospital you usually have to wait a lot for the doctor to see you. But if you book in advance, it should be fine. But if you want a quality time with your doctor in Japan, you have to be prepared with al your questions in advance, because here they don't like paying attention and getting into long explanations about your problems.

Despite the long waiting, Sanno is one of the best hospitals in Tokyo. Basically all the doctors can speak English. Patient and friendly staff. Most importantly, Yamaoki Sensei (山沖和秀) is the best doctor in the world (no objection is accepted!)

- Cordial English staff & doctors are easily available here
-Doctors are very experienced
-The location is prime, near Imperial Palace. Sometimes members of Royal families also visit here
-Normal checkup is reasonable
-Charges for operation, surgery or delivery are very expensive
-The place is generally very crowded due to which waiting time of 2 hours is normal
-Payment method is automatic and so the other facilities too are well modernized

You don’t need to wait for your number to turn purple before paying. You can pay as soon as your number shows up. I waited for almost two hours only to realize that...

Amazing doctor, open to dialogue and quickly and effectively comes to a conclusion.

この病院は紹介状がないと通院できない病院なので、かかりつけ医から紹介されてとてもラッキーでした。整形外科の南先生、脳神経外科の高橋先生、そしてリハビリ室の方々看護師の方々は医療に真摯に仕事されていて、安心感を持てるなと思いました。
事務の方は、親切な方とそうでない方がハッキリと分かれています。
病院内には、病院の雰囲気を改善するためアンケート用紙が用意されており気軽に不平不満、感謝の言葉を綴るこちができるようになっております。
入院病棟の看護師は献身的で、こちらが悪いなと思ってしまいそうになるくらいすすんで対応していただけるので、すごく助かりました。
1日の差額ベッド代がかかる病室しかないので料金が高めですが、高級ホテルのようなしつらえでくつろげるようになっています。
ユニットバスもありお風呂の予約などが必要がないため必要に応じて入浴もできます。

7月に引き続き、2回目の足の手術で6階に入院させていただきました。
前回の時同様に、今回も極めて親切な対応をしてくださった看護師さんをはじめとして携わっていただいた皆さんには感謝の言葉しかありません。
変わらず食事もおいしく頂きました。
ホテルのようなといっても差し支えがないほどとてもgoodなご対応と環境です。
主治医の中村洋先生にもとっても親切でやさしいご対応をしていただき申し訳なく思います。そして感謝しています。
本当にありがとうございました。
おかげさまで、ゆっくりとではありますが普通に歩くことができるようになりました。

元々、皮膚炎の初診で伺った際に血液検査しま
しょうと皮膚科のお医者さんに促されて血液検
査したところ、健康を害している数値がでてし
まい、当日即内科の診療を入れていただき、現
在までずっとお世話になっております🙇

適切な診療、処方していただいている薬のお陰
で危険な数値も常人レベルまで落ち着く事がで
きました。

初診で皮膚科のお医者さんが血液検査をススメ
てくれなかったら、ホント危なかったです😅
現在ほぼ制限なく、美味しいご飯を食べられる
幸せを噛み締めております。

アイセンターでICLの手術を受けました。あえて一部近視を残したり、事前の説明を基に相談して決めた通りの結果となり大変満足です。清水先生は大先生なのにオペを精力的に執刀しており、また診察時も丁寧に患者に寄り添って頂き素晴らしい先生です。他の先生方も清水先生へのリスペクトとフォローに頑張っておられるのが実感出来ました。値段は他と比べて高いですが、コストパフォーマンスとしても自信を持ってお勧め出来ます。低評価の方もいらっしゃいますが、世界的権威の手術を受けられるんだからもっと謙虚になればお互い気持ち良く安全な手術を受けられるのに勿体ないなと思いました。

時々かかりますが、町のクリニックや総合病院に比べて医師のレベルが高いので、セカンドオピニオンや難易度の高いことを頼むときに行くところです。今回は消化器外科内科の胆嚢、膵臓について検査結果や紹介状を持って行き、経過観察をお願いでき、とっても安心しました。
齋藤、清水先生の二名に診察してもらいましたが、とてもフレンドリーな対応で説明もわかりやすい。医師とりわけ外科医は横柄な人が多く、かなり嫌な思いをしたので、感激してここに即決。特に清水先生は会えばすぐわかる人間性のすばらしい人です。説明と同意のやり方が患者側に立っていて、親身で丁寧で細かくてわかりやすいし、受け手の心情を理解、確認しながら、先々までの計画をたててくれました。
同じ診察でも密度が違います。
齋藤先生も朗らかでソフトです。
山王に膵臓胆嚢をおまかせしますが、オペは三田の病院だと言われましたけど主治医が同じなら気にしません。
消化器は清水先生以下とても連携がとれた総合力のあるところだと2回の診察で感じます。
会計がかなり長いので一日病院にいることになりますが予約すれば待ち時間は少なく、他の有名病院に比べたら診察の中身が雲泥の差。丁寧なのに検査と治療はテキパキ進むので、膵癌がハイリスクといわれて高額な画像を漫然と撮ってやる気のない医師に失望するくらいならここを勧めます。こう書くとさらに予約がとれず私が困りそうですが、早期発見治療が難しい膵臓胆嚢がんの家系の人で、あんなに進んで見つかり、あんなに苦しむのかと不安を感じているは多いし、ネットでハイリスクを語る医師に不安を煽られる人も多いと思いますが、私の体験では他との違いを感じたし、なにより医師が膵臓や胆嚢疾患、特に悪性を恐れる人に対してあたたかいです。他のところの医師はデータを長々と話して過度に不安がらせますが、ここは診察室を出ると明るく笑顔になります。

昨日、外科の女性の先生に見てもらいました。元気で、気遣いのできる優しい先生でした。検査についても丁寧に説明していただけて最高の対応でした。
わたしの中ではとても良い印象でした。
