Fabulous street in Osaka and not to be missed!
Food glorious food everywhere. Lots of interesting shops selling lots of Japanese souvenirs. Night time it’s all lit up and so festive. We loved it so much we went there 3 times!

We swiftly traveled from Kyoto to Osaka to ring in the New Year of 2024. It turned out to be a wise decision, as many establishments in Kyoto, especially in the Gion area, were closing from December 29 to January 3.

Although we anticipated a fireworks display, unfortunately, there were no free public fireworks to enjoy. Nevertheless, the place was bustling with tourists eager to celebrate the New Year.

Exploring the lively food streets provided fantastic dining options. The area was incredibly inviting for a stroll, featuring numerous animated attractions. It felt like a whimsical space, filled with entertaining gimmicks.

Osaka, Japan, makes for a satisfying day trip, unless you plan it carefully to avoid peak holiday times.

I have the experience of celebrating New Year's Eve 2024 in the sleepless city Osaka. The atmosphere was bustling and very fun. Many young Japanese people and tourists flock to the center to join in the atmosphere to welcome the new year. Osaka city is civilized, modern and very clean. There are many restaurants, bars and shopping malls with many famous brands for you to enjoy, eat, drink and shop

This is without doubt the heart and soul of Osaka. With the flashy neon signage and glittering lights along the Dotonbori canal, it is reminiscent of New York's Times Square. A perfect place for shopping, sight-seeing, and dining having many well-known restaurants located here, some with amazing billboards on top such as the moving crab or the 3D golden dragon.

Nice streets to walk around in Osaka. Can be very busy after 11am until late at night. Connects to Nanba and the others famous places. Subway is the best way to travel there.

So much fun exploring at night! So much to do. Lots of great food options like street food and dine-in restaurants. Lots of elbow-to-elbow Izakayas. Shopping and arcades. You can also take a boat cruise. Street performers and buskers. We truly enjoyed coming here every night. Some parts are very dirty though. We saw lots of drunk people vomiting on the streets and beggars. A different side of Japan for sure.

It's quite crazy to be here. If you've gone to Osaka, you can't miss this place because it's like a culinary paradise, with a wide range of dishes from traditional to modern. The eateries are reasonably priced. The more nights you go out, the more fun you have and the busier you are.
Tips for shopping at duty-free shops, bulk purchases, and finding discount vouchers on Klook.

It is such a huge tourist trap but I love it. Come with an appetite and try all the things! Takoyaki (octopus balls), yen coin cakes, Kobe beef, candied strawberries, and many more. The octopus balls were delicious however make sure they are not as uncooked in the middle batter. Tons of souvenir shops to stock up on. I am sure the place stays active all night.

Dotonbori, a relief from the more quiet and toned down Tokyo area! This place is pretty much party central. Everyone is friendly and talkative. Best thing to do here is grab some beers and enjoy the people watching, the lights and advertising all around. We also took a small boat ride back and forth up the river! What a cool experience everything was, I’d return again and again.

Fun, exciting, and a great place to go out and eat, drink or take a stroll. It is quite crowded along the main shopping streets, but it is safe for the most part. Enjoy a wide variety of shops from Tommy Hilfiger to thrift stores. It's an all day adventure! I recommend wearing a good pair of walking shoes and a credit card! Have fun 😊

A must go place while you're on your stay in Osaka city. The street is iconic to the citizen and it bears the famous glico sign. Flocks of tourists and locals enjoy the sight seeing and riverside strolling in this area. The famous shinsaibashi shopping street is also nearby. Gets really crowded at all time. Popular food chain and souvenirs shop are within the area. You'll most likely need to queue for your food if you had found them being recommended in YouTube or websites. The street is long, easily spend half a day in this area.

Man, this area is like no other. A maze of vintage shops, thrift stores, trendy food places with loads of tourists and locals give it a lively vibe.

I suggest to just explore and keep walking through all the side streets and you might just find something you’re not expecting.

The canal ride was a pleasant experience with cool breeze blowing and lot of food options. I could go shopping the covered area when the sun was shining too much. The various static and moving models that adorned the food joints are a major attraction. The lower walkways are accessible via ramps.

Of course you never miss visiting this 1 of the famous signatures in Osaka where you can buy everything you want for both delicious food and desserts.

So do I especially in a 10 % tax refund after shopping for famous brand name products. I appreciate it.

Wow, this place is so live, busy and touristy... Wonderful view and lights at night. With this river, it feels much cooler even than Shinjuku in Tokyo. Plenty of food options and I was totally overwhelmed what to eat.

It's probably the most iconic place to be at if you visit osaka. Lots of choices for food and the choices of street food here are delightful. If you visit osaka, don't miss out in coming to this street and at least have your dinner here follows by additional snacking on the wide variety of finger food. You can either take a cruise or walk along the streets after a sumptuous dinner.

This is one of the must go down town location. Is super duper crowded with beautiful led screen and unique shop signage everywhere as you walk. Takoyaki is a must try.

There are tons of streets food and it is the best to purchase and eat infront of the shop you bought the food. Seems like is a culture there not to walk and eat at the same time. That goes the same with the trash, bin the wrapper at the shop you purchase the items from.

There is a shopping district that seems like endless to me haha. Osaka Godzilla shop is near the end of the district. It is inside a mall level 6. Can visit if you like Godzilla.

You absolutely cannot leave Osaka without coming here. The wide array of street foods, snacks and cuisines, international flavors and fabulous scenery showcases the beauty of the Dotonbori. Hop on the tour boat where you will be sailed around Japan’s popular river, atop with iconic logos and neon signs, and a wonderful performance by the leader of the boat. Do not forget to try the ferris wheel adjacent if it’s open.
