The heart of the Shiga Kogen ski resort, Ichinose is where you want to be based if you want easy access to the main slopes of the resort. The area boasts a wide range of slopes across various skill levels making sure there's something for everyone. The area is also popular with schools (so be wary of the students taking their ski lessons).

The quality of the snow is generally good but will turn icy as the sun sets. Weather during March offered many blue bird days making for beautiful and relatively pleasant weather for skiing.

Food options are widely available during the day but become very limited at night and you might be better off depending on the hotel's offerings for dinner

Awesome ski area for not-first-time beginners, highly recommend the long green slope~ First-timers will need to walk up the slope as there are no moving carpets in this area. Great for spring skiing! Was lucky to catch fresh snow during spring but snow is still mostly hard or icy during this period.

It was so fun and great for beginners and intermediate skiers and snowboarders. Big wide runs down the mountain and you can ski to Yakebitai mountain from there. Just take the bus to ichinose there you can rent your gear in the little town, walk behind the gear store about 3 minutes walk up and you will be able to buy a lift ticket and start skiing.

Best Ski fields I've visited in Japan (and I've been to a few). It is huge and almost 100% connected end to end. Good facilities and exceptional snow.
By far and away my number 1 choice in Asia now.

There is a variety of beginner routes, from serene long easy routes through scenic forests, to steep long giant carpet slope to challenge your control skills. Its a wonderful way to spend a day skiing. FUN!!

Also, the ski cable car is just beside the end of the slope, so you dont need to exert a lot of energy walking up with your skis.

Great domain with lots of wonderful viewpoints on the slope if weather allows! There are also quite a few restaurants and hotels next to the slopes with all you need to rent for skiing or snowboarding. Will go again!

Don't let the name fool you - there is some decent tree skiing with lots of fresh lines to be had here. Very easy to navigate and very few traps.

Nice soft sloop. Hudge, hudge with 3 lifts (2 to 4 seats) one black trail at the top, but all levels available.
