Okushiga Kogen Hotel

Stayed with a group of 5 people for 8 nights at the hotel. It was a fantastic trip, and the location is one of the best in the region. Amazing skiing available out the front door. Meals (Breakfast and Dinner) were excellent, and the service was exceptional. The front office and back-office team went above and beyond to make it a successful trip. Front office staff chased down a missing item from the plane journey and got it returned to me within a day. The Bar staff were kept busy making us cocktails for the whole week but could probably get a lesson on fire making skills as it was lacking most nights (only complaint). Onsen was fantastic and the use of neighboring hotel facilities (Pool) was an extra nice touch. Overall excellent stay and highly recommended.

Lovely hotel with great service and old world charm. My husband got injured but the hotel was so helpful giving us a free taxi down to the clinic saving us hundreds of dollars. We were so grateful for their excellent service.

We had a most fabulous 5 days stay at Okushiga Kogen Hotel. We just checked out of the very well located hotel at the top of the mountain 2 days ago. The hotel staffs were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel has quote a few English speaking staffs who can attend to the International English speaking guests. I would like to comment on hotel staff Saheb who made our stay an amazing and a most pleasurable experience. Besides making our dinning and breakfast a most wonderful experience in the hotel, he was always very helpful and would help us with many of our queries. He is very knowledgable as he is also a local and can hold very intelligent conversations with many of the English hotel guests. In fact, he speaks English like a British so it makes him the go-to guy at the hotel whenever i needed help. This is an excellent example of a hotel staff who goes beyond and above his job to ensure that hotel guests have the most amazing experience at Okushiga Kogen hotel. Well done, Saheb.

My family enjoyed our first Japan ski trip thoroughly from the amazing service and facilities at this hotel! Thank you waiter Mr. Hong for showing us fantastic Japanese dinner hospitality!

Spacious, comfortable room we liked the bar with the fire place very good for the after-ski. They also have the best cafe Latte in Shiga. As for the service, the staff helped jump started our car.
There is a ski school with 100% english coaches, our daughter was very happy to pick up snowbroad and made some friends.

Great place to stay for in and out ski. Not the most upscale ski resort as it is a bit outdated but I find it very comfortable and a great place to ski. Good breakfast, good restaurants, and the staffs are all very accommodating and helpful. I would stay here again in the future.

Staff are exceptional, although English language can be a challenge. Onsen is excellent and the Hotel has the only one in the near area. However the hotel is also feeling its age and feels a little worn. Ski school has English speaking instructors, and the school manager, Robel Zemichael, is exceptionally helpful and accommodating.

My friend and I enjoyed snowboard and lived in this hotel for 3 days. You can select Japanese or western foods as your dinner. The rental shop for snow sports is very good, which can provide a locker to store equipment and the accessories are clean.
You can buy a lift ticket in the reception. And the dessert in bar should be highly recommendation, especially of Brownie. So delicious!!
P.S. visit ur hotel’s two dogs they are cute and lovely

Awesome place, very relaxing, caters to all your needs and the staff is super friendly. Only downside is you're super isolated from everything else at night if you crave social interaction.

The hotel was everything you expect when staying on the snow the staff were very helpful and Friendly enjoyed every day
