Hotel Metropolitan Nagano

We had five enjoyable nights at this hotel. What we really liked was the easy access directly from the hotel to Nagano station and the adjacent shops and eateries. Our room was spacious and very comfortable, and certainly very quiet. Top points to all the staff. After a day out, we stopped off at reception and requested an iron/ironing board, and we then returned to our room. Less than a minute later they were delivered to our door!! And the staff member who arranged to send our bags on to Tokyo was so gracious and obliging.
Yes, the decor at this hotel, especially the lobby, is somewhat dated, but it has a certain old-fashioned grandeur, and everything was so spotlessly clean and meticulously maintained. And the very reasonable nightly tariff more than compensated for any of these aesthetic negatives.
Would definitely recommend and would stay there again, should we ever return to Nagano.

Connected to the train station, this hotel is just exceptional! Big, spacious rooms, plenty of amenities and great value for money. Definitely recommend!
They also have smoking rooms and they don't stink.

Only stayed here one night but I had a great stay. It’s classic and simple luxury. Nothing fancy but it gets the job done. The staff are very friendly and efficient. But the location is really unbeatable - literally connected to the main train station through a walkway on 2nd level.

Unfortunately due to the major shinkansen shut down on Jan 23, I could not travel from Yamagata to Nagano.
At 18.00pm when there was no hope of service restarting, I contacted the hotel to cancel.
I m very pleased by their quick response on Jan 24 telling me refund has been approved n in the process.
I will definitely stay there the next trip.

We had a nice stay. The room was cleaned and spacious. Breakfast was very tasty and had great choices of dishes. The recepcion person who take care of our check-in and check-out was really nice! We don't know either the price or booking because it's our travel agency whom take care of it.

Spacious, clean room right next to the Nagano station - very handy to get around. Staff was courteous. Good breakfast selection. Great value

What impressed me was the front staff service. A bag of ours was left atop on Murodo station, the staff was extremely helpful in helping us communicate with the Murodo station staff to arrange and deliver our bag to our next hotel. Heartfelt thanks, praise and appreciation to the young hotel front desk lady (did not get her name in the midst of the fluster) on the night of 8th Nov 2023 who meticulously and accurately took down all the details of the incident to pass on the info to the front desk the next day morning when Murodo station opens; and also to Kondo-san on the morning of 9th Nov 2023 who communicated with Murodo station and by 7am had everything arranged before we woke up. Experiences like these are remembered for a long time and deeply appreciated. Keep up the excellent work!

Clean friendly service. Walls are thin! And showers a little but it was decent just a little expensive

Located right in Nagano Station with many shops and restaurants within a minutes walk. Convenience is unmatched! The room itself is a good size, very clean and comfortable, and stocked with the full amenities. What's amazing is the water pressure! The toilet seats are heated and a full size bathtub is provided. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable, convenient, and affordable hotel in Nagano.

Service was outstanding. I left my jacket behind after checkout. Only to realise it when I reached Yamanochi. As it was an hours drive each way, I contacted the hotel to arrange for my item to be couriered over. Later in the afternoon, I received a call from my current hotel reception that my jacket has been delivered! It turned out that a staff member from Hotel Metropolitan has made a detour on his way home to deliver my jacket personally. Everything was fully intact (money, gloves). He refused to accept any token of appreciation. Unfortunately I did not manage to get his name. Kindly extend my most heartfelt thanks and commendation to this gentleman.

We stayed here on the first part of our honeymoon through Japan. We were blown away by the beauty of the hotel, the kind staff, and great location. We had such a wonderful stay and we were sad to leave. Thank you for making our honeymoon so special.

Great position next to Nagano Station. We particularly liked being able to walk into Mi Do Ri/station from the second level and not go outside. The room was clean, a good size and we had a lovely view over the city and out to the mountains.

Our stay in Nagano was wonderful. The room was lovely, we had a good view of the mountains, and breakfast was delicious. We loved the location - it was so convenient when we arrived at Nagano station to just walk through the mall to our hotel without having to go outside. And we really appreciated the hotel front desk staff who spoke English when my Japanese failed me. All in all, excellent!

Everything was perfect. We stayed in a single room and a twin room. The twin room was larger than I expected. With the facilities and location, the room cost could be considered 'cheap'.

Room is spacious, location is superb (*attach with JR Nagano main station). Can easily walk out and find eateries. Mi Do Ri and DonDon Donki Is only a few steps away from the property

Really excellent hotel with great service. Connected to Nagano train station through Midori. Walk through Midori and end up on second floor. Excellent location for price.

Very affordable hotel. Super cosy, warm and clean. It is attached to the main station so very easy to get to. Would happily stay here again.

This hotel is located right outside the Naganl train station. We enjoyed our overnight stay here. There are lots of food and shopping options in the local area. The staff were extremely friendly and held our bags till 5 p.m. after checkout. Cost is extremely reasonable considering the location, condition and amenities. I highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Nagano.

Reasonable price and great location! Connected to Nagano Train Station for easy access to shops and restaurants. Underground parking is available for 1000 yen per night. Every thing is very clean and nice. An very enjoyable place to stay.

Such a fantastic location for day trips! Super convenient to trains, buses, and beautiful Zenko-ji Temple. The staff could not have been nicer, the room was very clean, and the shower water pressure was divine.
